My Favourite Cards of 2015

Happy New Year bloggers!  Every year on the first day of the new year I post the cards that were my personal favourites (excluding  Christmas cards) from the previous year.  They aren't in any particular sort of order, just as I happened to find them in my folders.  This is always a post that takes me some time to compile.
I can't really say what it is about each of these cards, but only that they just sing to me in some way or another!  Many of these cards were part of the Wednesday Card Giveaway so I hope that they have been enjoyed by their winners too.   Just curious if any of these are your favourites from the year or not?  I would love to hear what you think!  Here's hoping for a fabulous 2016 and many more cards, ideas and techniques to come in the new year!!

Some of you may have heard me mention on my last shows that I have kept track of the number of cards that I made in 2015.  Anyone want to venture a guess?  Include it with your comment, would love to know what you think?

One further note, at 8pm this evening I launch the new One Day Special on Hochanda.  I will have shows at 9am, 12 noon, 4pm and 7pm tomorrow as well.  I do hope that you will be able to tune in to see my cards and demos!   All for now, Sue x

Good morning and a very Happy New Year to you Sue, and everyone. This is a wonderful selection of cards from this year and I can see why they are among your favourites. Considering I especially love sparkle, bows, flowers and stick pins the card that stands out for me is the "grunge" card with the accented red flowers and hessian piece - sorry I've already forgotten the sentiment and it's nothing to do with too much celebrating last night! I think you must have made around 1700 cards last year. Hugs to all. Sue XXX

Happy New Year, Sue, to you and all your family and to all of our blog friends, and hoping that 2016 will be kinder to so many who really need some extra luck.
Lovely surprise to see the 'keepers' today - especially numbers one and five which had been saved for inspiration on the days they were posted. Also particularly liked the grunge card on 24th August and the one for 23rd December and ............
Well, the guessing game - think maybe 1700 allowing for holidays and show days and video days but could well be more. My sum total was around 35 ha ha didn't do any C.cards as still haven't tidied my craft area - but watch this space!! Literally.
Melody, as ever, thoughts are with you.
And brave Tracy - be strong and keep your wonderful sense of humour - hope you're nae leakin the noo!

Morning Sue. Wishing you and your family a Healthy and Happy New Year. Well what can i say about your first post of the year but WOW WOW WOW they are all stunning. You must have been sitting for hours trying to pick your favourites from all of the beautiful cards you have made this year. I love it when you put sparkle, ribbons, pearls and then to finish off with your gorgeous stick pins on to your cards. So after looking at your cards for about 10minutes my favourite top five are No 1, 2, 4, 11, and 15 but my all time favourite is card No 2 it just has everything going for it, the layout and all the beautiful coloured flowers you on it. Sorry for waffling on lol. You must have made about2500 cards this year as when you are on the tv you must have hundreds of beautiful samples with you and we never get to see them all which is such a shame. Got the tv all set to tape your shows tonight and tomorrow. Good luck with them and cant wait to see your beautiful samples.
Take care everyone and Happy New Year to you all.
Best Wishes

Happy New Year Sue and all Wilsonettes!!

Lovely array of cards - my own personal favourites are:-

No. 2 - the colourful Enjoy
No. 5 - Classy Grunge with the stunning red flowers
No. 7 - Vertical THANKS, some very clever cutting to make the frame
No. 11 - Triple Lattice/Lace background and stamped red flowers panel
No. 14 - Balck/gold Congratulations

As to how many cards you made this year?...well, at least one per day for the blog and then one for each new die set, so that takes us to between 450 - 500 and then spares..so about 1000+ is my guess

Looking forward to tonight's launch and the shows tomorrow - just going to set the Sky box to record them all...

No wonder they're your favourites Sue - they're absolutely beautiful. I think if I had to choose my ultimate favourites out of those it would be the first two, but it's a very difficult choice!

As to how many cards you make, I would guess something like 1500 because I've heard you say that you make cards every day, and I'm sure you're much quicker at it than I am. It usually takes me a whole morning or afternoon to make a card that I'm pleased with!

All the cards are gorgeous so wouldn't want to try and pick my favourite(s).

How many cards did you make last year. Your dedication to your craft, Florida visits, Hochanda, and CE visits not withstanding, I reckon you may have managed nearer to 3000. Which is about 2950 more than me.

Sue, all your favourite cards are gorgeous but my personal favourite has to be the second one, mainly because I was lucky enough to win the 'enjoy' die on launch :-)

I have no idea how many cards you have made, I do remember you saying but my poor old brain doesn't hold on to information like that now. I suppose I could check the recoding but that would be cheating lol. Like others I am sure it must be in excess of 1000.

Happy New Year everyone
Sue thank you so much for sharing these cards, no 5 is my favourite as it's just beautiful. I love so many of the blue and white cards but your take on grunge just speaks to me :)
My guess would be 750 but not sure how you could make so many when you are involved in so much else, it will be very interesting to find out the true total.
My tee total celebrations went well at my best friends house. I got the St Kitts set as my Christmas present so that was wonderful.
Laine, I hope you had a wonderful time and are not suffering ill effects from imbibing too much. Oh yes I use icon too they are very good, still not made any firm decisions on my spends. I know I need some more glues, and I don't have any texture paste. I find decision making very difficult now days.
Wheely, I hope 2016 is kinder to you healthiest.
To my many new friends, thank you so much for making me so welcome. I wish all of you a wonderful 2016.

Thank you Sue for this beautiful treat you have given us today. What a fantastic start to the New Year. LOL

That's quite a challenge you set for us to guess how many cards you have made, because when Julia or John or on the television they will often say Sue made that card, I would guess as others have said you had made in excess of 1000, I will guesstimated you have made 1235.

Happy new year to you, Sue, all your family, and everyone at Creative Expressions. I love all your cards and don't know how you manage to choose favourites! Every card is so individual and beautiful. Real works of art and so inspiring.

Thank you once again for sharing your skills and techniques wth us. Your blog is the first thing I read every morning and my grand-daughter Jennie continues to be enthralled by your videos and still pretends to be 'Sue'.

Take care and have a brilliant 2016.

It is so hard to pick just one of those cards Sue, but the first wins for me. :) As to how many cards you've made, what a question! More than 365 obviously because you make one a day at least for this blog. Plus demo cards, so a wild guess is 1012!! Way out no doubt, but it's all good for a laugh. :)

Hi Sue,
My favourite card is the "wishing you a wonderful day" card. I loved it when I first saw it and still love it. Couldn't possibly hazard a guess to the number of cards you've made in 2015 it must be a huge amount. Off to set the record for your Hochanda shows, thanks for the reminder.
Wishing you a happy, healthy new year.

Hi Sue
What a beautiful start to 2016, I love all your cards but if I had to choose a favourite it would be the second one. I love the sentiment on the last card, it's from one of CE clear stamp sets hubby bought me for Christmas. I reckon you made 1,825 cards, a average of five a day, but it's probably more!
Happy new year to you and all the lovely people here, you are all the flowers in the garden of life,

Tracy glad you got the roof fixed
Karenlotty what a wonderful year you have ahead, enjoy

Hugs and best wishes everyone

Good afternoon Sue and the wilsonettes,
Well Sue, you know how i said i like pristine and clean cards especially your all in white cards that you haven't got one of them in your favourites this year which is a surprise, well my favourite is the grungy one in the coffee slats and the deep red flower with the black and red accents, it is beautiful and would just be the one to turn me in to trying to make one. The first card would be my next favourite but other than that i couldnt' choose one over another as they are all stunning examples of beauty. About 1680 or so i would reckon as some weeks will be more prolific that others but i would hate the mailing bill for them, lol.
I hope that you have a wonderful year Sue and it is the year that you remember most as your best. Sending hugs to you and your family flower and enjoy the rest (ha ha ha) of the break.
To all i wish you a happy new year and hope that for those that are at the bottom find their way back up again, to our friends that are ill i hope that this will be the year that you come back to being yourself and come back to us, your friends.
With love and crafty hugs

How about 1200 cards but I wouldn't be surprised if it's more. However, you don't just make cards but there's all the designing/testing and sourcing to do, in addition to the cards.
Surprise me..............

Such a lovely line-up of Sue Wilson creations from the year 2015! Some of these cards were new to me for I have not yet been following you a full year. My favorite from these cards has to be the first "Thanks So Much" card. This card inspired me to try this design even though I did not have the exact dies you used on this card. I had other Sue Wilson dies that I used. The card turned out lovely and I am holding onto it for that "extremely special" person and occasion. My guess on the number of cards you have made during 2015 would be 1200 cards. You are one busy lady. Happy New Year my friend!

They are all gorgeous but admit I do have two favourites and that is the 1st one and the 5th one.
I adore the first one because it is so pretty and love the colour and those dies.
But saying that they are all pretty and I love the 2nd one because it is a beautiful card that I know I could never
in my wildest dreams achieve.
I think you call it it grunge but you make it looks so pretty and I know mine would look tatty if I ever tried it.
As for the cards it must be well over a 1000 and more likely to be over 2000 thinking logically as you post one everyday and then there are the double days plus all the demos you do and then there are the cards that don't get shown.
So my quess would be approx 2250.

Happy new year x

Hi Sue
Happy New Year TV star extraordinaire. Your appearance on Hochanda was fantastic and has been the highlight of my year. LOL!!!
I had no problem spending my Christmas money and in a few days I will be the proud owner of 2 of the bundles which were on offer this evening. Can't wait to see you again tomorrow and I cannot promise that I will not buy anything else.
How many cards? Well I actually think that it might even be in excess of 3000. I am thinking back to when I had no limitations that would keep me from crafting and know how many cards I could make over the course of a weekend. It was quite a few I can tell you. So I am going to hazard guess and say about 3278. I know it's a completely random number but that's the kind of girl I am!! I do hope you are going to tell us the correct amount.
As far as choosing a favourite card I think that is a hard one. I have every single card in today's gallery in a folder as I love them all. I have made a card which was influenced by the second card and even though it was not as lovely as yours I was quite pleased with it and the recipient was bowled over x
A great big Happy 2016 to everyone. I do hope it will be a good year for us all. For anyone who has had a rough time in 2015 or health problems or issues, big or small let's hope that things are on the up and there are brighter times ahead x
I am please to say I made it to my friends last night and I hadn't seen her for about 2 months so we had a lot of catching up to do. We managed to last until about 9.30 then both had to admit defeat and decided to give in to our feelings of desire for a hot drink, a hot water bottle and our beds. I know - I am such a party animal and living it up is second nature (not)!!!
LAINE - I am hoping that your absence is nothing serious and due to your out of hand shenanigans and over enthusiastic gaiety whilst welcoming the New Year in with open arms. Did your finances manage to stretch to a little retail therapy during Sue's show this evening? x
LORRAINE - Laine obviously 'imbibed' far more than she should and I would not be surprised if her salacious behaviour got the better of her!! Huggles to you x
TRACY - so glad you sorted out your leak. Hope you are feeling ok. Lots of love xxx
Sending love to everyone else as well of course x
I am planning a day full of Sue tomorrow. Obviously we have the hochanda shows and I do have quite a few videos that I have not viewed yet for various reasons. I am trying to think of a way to get myself organised to enable me to be able to craft more than I did in 2015. This is not a difficult goal but there must be an easy way to achieve it. I desperately need to sort out my craft room so that I am able to find what I am looking for - that would be a good place to start. I have decided not to make any New Year resolutions and just go with the flow in the hope that I will be more successful achieving something rather than nothing. We'll see - watch this space.
Anyway people it is bedtime. Need some shut eye so that I am fully alert and able to give Sue my undivided attention which is what she deserves.
Crafty hugs

What a beautiful array of cards. How you manage to keep coming up with such stunning designs day after day amazes me. As to how many you have made, I would just be plucking a out of the air. You've probably shown five hundred or so new designs here and on your shows and made a lot of them a several times with all the demos. So my guess is 1096. Whatever the number, please just keep on making them.
Take care everyone.

Hi Sue

Oh some favourites here... I love pretty much all of them for different reasons but the one that has stuck in my mind since you posted it is the "Enjoy" card, with the multicoloured flowers. It's not AT ALL the sort of card I make, it just makes me happy, with all the colour popping off the dark background.

Confession- I forgot yesterday was Friday (yeah, I know...) so have set the box for an early repeat, maybe my waking up and not getting back to sleep was my subconscious reminding me I had forgot what day it was! Issue rectified and box now set for all tomorrow's shows. Planning to watch but at least should something come up I won't miss anything!

Cards in a year... hmmm... as you also design the dies plus TV, travel etc I'd imagine for every card posted on the blog there'd be a 2nd or maybe a third so I'm gussing at 813. Which is about 800 more than me give or take. But I did manage 45 minutes cleaning up the craft table of mess on Friday, from wrapping Christmas gifts because mum in law has put in an order plus it's my mums birthday in a fortnight so I need the space to put cards together. Anyway, however many you made each one has brought us joy. Thank you and wishing you all the best for the shows.

I did enjoy the fireworks on tv and the ones set off nearby. Watched them alone though, both my men were asleep. Spoilt myself with a mint mocha. Someone locally either was too piddled last night or had too many fireworks as they let them off tonight too! Luckily at 6:30pm, not midnight!

Lorraine F, Lynda, Alimecca... thank you & hugs xxx

Marg, couldn't have put it better myself. "Lets hope they find a cure, until the, keep crafting" Pure brilliance my friend, you put one heck of a smile on my face! Hugs xxx

Well, that's me. Need a cold drink of juice and water, check hochanda website then back to bed for some sleep.

Hugs to all of you, enjoy the Saturday 'Suefest'!

Hi Sue, I can see why these are your favorites, every one of them is a work of art.

Hello everyone, I've been scanning the post trying to catch up, the holidays this year were very different for us as a family. Greg's chemo has not worked, so they start something else tomorrow. My daughter, Tanya, his wife, is coping as best as she can with 5 kids, which she homeschools, and Greg's situation. He has always been the rock in their relationship, his calm demeanor keeping her from being frantic in stressful times. Thank God for her faith as I think it is all which is holding her together right now. She is just so heavy hearted, and as a mom it's so hard to see and not know how to alleviate her pain. Lovely folks, like ya'll, are praying all over the world, so we hold on to this hope.
Some good news, our youngest daughter in CA, Ashley, is expecting. Please pray for her also, as she has had 3 miscarriages, and so desperately they want a baby. So many things to think about and pray about.

On another note, I absolutely love the card Sue made called Staggered Square Checker, on what you in England call boxing day. (BTW, why do you call the day after Christmas this?) I have watched her video 4 or 5 times, trying to figure out how she makes the grid. Have any of you done this? It's the very first thing you do, and I know she somehow uses the two small cutting outside squares. Do you have a single piece of cardstock, then cut a grid of squares which you tape or glue to the solid piece? Then you take just the decorative square insert and diecut every other square? I hope I am making sense and someone can explain further.

God bless you all for a wonderful 2016.
