Thanks So Much

Hi crafters!  I'm back after a great weekend at Ally Pally!  I so enjoy seeing familiar faces and meeting new crafters from the blog too!  I was even able to sneak away for a few minutes and have a short get together with a group from Facebook and it was fabulous, a really great bunch!  Thank you for that and patiently waiting for all the comment game winners and card giveaway winners to be announced.  I will do that at the end of the post today.  For today's card, I have a lovely lilac floral themed creation.  I started by cutting a frame using the Ornate Pierced Design Noble dies.  While still in the die, I inked the frame with Shaded Lilac distress ink so you have a lovely white edge left once you remove it from the dies.  I added mounting foam to the back of the frame.  I cut a Lattice Arched Adornment out of white card and added it to the inside of the frame so the edge just caught on the mounting foam.   I embossed another piece of white card using the Linen Texture embossing folder and seated my frame over it, trimming away the excess from around the bottom of the frame.  I added the frame to a larger piece of coconut white card and added pearl designs into each of the corners.  I stamped the Shaded Peony stamps in black and cut them out with the matching die.  I inked them with Shaded Lilac to match my frame.  I cut the stamped leaves and Maidenhair fern pieces and inked them with Forest Moss distress ink and arranged them around my flowers which I seated in opposite corners.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it with the Pierced Flags and tucked the end under my larger flower.  The card was then finished with a white pierced mat, a wisteria mat and a larger white mat.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  8" in size.

The winner of this week's Wednesday Card Giveaway is:

Heather Rogers!!!

The winners of this week's Comment Game are:
Elsie Smith!!!
Mavis L!!!
Mrs. B!!!

For the extra qualifying post of Sept. 13, the winners are:
Clare W!!!
TDQ Karen!!!

For the extra qualifying post of Sept 14th, the winners are:

Karen Derbyshire!!!

For the extra qualifying post of Sept. 16th, the winners are:

Congratulations all!  Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your prize!  All for now, Sue x

Well done to Heather on the card win, also to all of the comment winners too.
See you were up late, Melody - you shouldn't have the worry of this on top of everything else so let's hope your contact with the person puts an end to this. Hugs to Molly - come back soon!

Hi Sue. What a beautiful card to start the week. I love the Ornate Pierced Design Noble die, it is so pretty, and the colour is gorgeous (it is showing as more of a blue on my screen but I can easily imagine it in lilac. Beautiful flowers and the pearl corners are a lovely finishing touch.
I see my name on the Comment Game winners, what a lovely surprise: )Thank you Sue. Congratulations to all of the other lucky winners.
Hugs to everyone. Take care xx
Melody, I'm glad that you have got to the bottom of Molly's upset. This is the last thing your family needs isn't it but I hope your response to this awful person makes them feel thoroughly ashamed of themselves. Hugs to you and Molly. I wish she would come back, we all miss her.
Molly, please come back and tell us what you have been up to. If you don't you will have let that nasty person win and that wouldn't be right would it? Hugs to you.

Morning Sue. You have no idea just how lost I have been without your wonderful blog this past week !! I hardly had any reception let alone internet connection so I've not seen a single sample card since the 12th before we went away, so I have lots to catch up on (in between hospital appointments ) !! And trying to get down a mountain of laundry - oh joy at least we came home without an addition to the family so a big relief all round.
I did manage to catch up last night with the facebook group you mentioned and the photos say it all, you all lit up AP with your happy smiles, what a beautiful card you received from the lovely ladies too, the group are still buzzing and so grateful that you put time aside for them. The badges were a great idea too.
I managed to see 5 minutes of your Northern Light card whilst getting our beach bag sorted, no wifi but free view tv ! Think I'd have preferred the WiFi as I have all your recent shows recorded, goodness knows when I'll get chance to watch them !!
Anyway today's card is gorgeous and I'm just longing to get back into my morning routine of coffee and catch up.
I need to get my head out of holiday mode first, then catch up with a week's worth of wonderful card's and Hochanda demo's plus get ready for market !!
So for now I will send a week's worth of hugs to you Sue and hope you are well.

Morning Sue
from a very dark morning here in my part of Sheffield.
Autumn is moving in very quickly now and as we have the Equinox on Wednesday (the day and night will be of equal length)the daylight days are shortening.

What a beautiful way to start a day though one of your pieces of art to bring a smile to everyone's face. I love your chosen colours and although your format is simple your dies make this gift so elegant.

Have to make a bday card today in quick time as it needs to be posted at the latest by tomorrow so I only hope that my one little grey cell is working this morning.

Congratulations to all winners - enjoy your gifts.
To all in pain and suffering today I hope your day gets better. To everyone please take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

Hi Sue & Lovely Wilsonettes; Firstly I would like to convey how pleased I was to hear that you had a great time at AP this weekend, I’m sure that yourself, John, Julia etc are quite exhausted but I guess it was all worthwhile meeting so many wonderful crafters & doing what you love to boot x x x A stunning card Sue, with some fabulous eye-catching detail, the Linen Texture EF is very striking & the Lattice Arched Adornment is perfectly placed to give depth & to draw those gorgeous peonies together, the pierced flag & Noble are also among my favourite dies. I have some of the pearl corner designs so I really must use them more often as they are very pretty & delicate, thank you for refreshing my mind as to what I have in my stash (makes me sound like a bit of a hoarder; Lol), but above all thank you for sharing your exceptional talents with us Sue as always it is very much appreciated. Hope you are taking advantage of a well earned rest? x x x

Congratulations HEATHER on being the winner of Sue’s elegant Wed’ card, I’m dancing the merry Irish jig for you my friend, & of course I’m whooping with joy for the lucky comment winners; I’m so pleased for you all, enjoy your lovely prizes ladies x x x

STEPHANIE; lovely to see you back with us, I do sympathise that you weren’t able to visit this magnificent blog whilst on holiday, I felt the same when in Cornwall. Hope you had a lovely time & don’t forget to drag yourself away from that humongous pile of laundry & catch up with Sue’s divine cards & the comments x x x

YVONNE; sincerely hope you are okay my friend & recovering from AP, I’m sure you have some wonderful memories meeting with Sue & friends; any chance that you may be up to going to AP in the spring, would be great to meet you? Miss you & your wonderful comments & anecdotes so look forward to seeing you back soon, & I bet someone else has missed you aswel; – not the same without the complete friendly duo of Thelma & Louise bantering back & forth. Take care my friend (((HUGS))) x x x

REBECCA; hope all is well my friend have missed your comments, hope to see you back soon x x x

HELEN; I am shy like you with new people, you wouldn’t think so; Lol but I’m so pleased that you were able to take that first step & what a lovely, generous idea of YVONNES to pass on a sticky badge, that had obviously helped to break the ice for you & through all the nerves you have some wonderful memories to remember the day. X x x

‘P’ IN WALES; Hey I like that my friend, very clever indeed. Did hubby ever apologise for calling you a ninny, I can understand the being cross part but a ‘ninny’ that is way down low; Lol x x x

LORRAINE; sorry to hear you have been poorly, hope you will feel better soon my friend. Glad I could help & so glad to hear that you don’t have to drag your poor mum, literally’ by the hair to AP in spring, she must be quite relieved that the potential for being scalped is no longer on the agenda; Lol - mmmm! I don’t remember inviting an old reprobate to stay but you’re very welcome Laine but I think we will all feel a little deflated if you didn’t get up to some cheeky mischief & live up to your reputation just a little, maybe?; in that case I would need to be brave & if another lovely crafter takes up the offer of the comfy fold-up to break up the travel you might have to be brave too; double Lol. As for Yvonne assertions I like to give anyone the benefit of the doubt– so come on, admit it my friend we all know that you are missing the hilarious banter between you both same as we all are as you cheer us up no end & you both click so amazingly together, hey just to say I loved the “tumbleweed across the screen” expression – very funny; Lol... Ps I live in Northamptonshire x x x

I must close now my friends Love ‘n’ (((HUGS))) to you Sue, Molly & family & lovely Wilsonettes Beth B x x x

Greetings Sue & WW!
Today's card is another beauty! As you said, inking the frame while still in the die, really does create such a pretty effect, especially when pulling the same color into the flowers. Although my inking & coloring skills are not on par with yours Sue! Practice is what I need...and lots of it!
It sounds like a good time was had by all at Ally Pally. Diane you literally put blood, sweat & tears into getting there! You poor dear! But I love how you still enjoyed yourself and put your best (although wounded) face forward- not letting the fall ruin all your fun. I do hope u r feeling better and have enjoyed some play time with your purchases.
Beth B you have further cemented my belief of what a wonderful person you are by your offer of shelter along the way for future Ally Pally hopefuls! I'm pleased to know Laine won't have to resort to dragging her poor mum by the hair to get there, as I think that might raise a few alarms, not to mention a few weapons! Come April, I wouldn't want to hear on the news that there is a stand-off at a craft expo in London between the authorities & a woman in silk pj's who is wielding a cat on a leash in one hand and a full grown woman by the hair in the other - all the while shouting and drooling about meeting Sue Wilson! Beth, see the crisis your generosity has potentially averted? Oh and despite my admiration for you, you are not off the hook for your funny story. I've witnessed the disappearance of posts (not just my own) first hand, so I believe you. But I am selfish enough to want to read it anyway, so when you get a chance, please do type it up again :-) I found myself without words (shocking, I know), when trying to think of a funny story in anticipation of our "not going to Ally Pally" blog exchange. Not because I haven't done silly or embarrassing things, (heck, every time I open my mouth, I'm at risk for that) but because I was intimidated by the pressure of trying to be funny I guess. I certainly enjoyed the ones I read tho!
Wheely Bad - all was quiet in my house at 3 or 4 in the morning yesterday when I got in bed and began to read the posts of the day. That is, until I read yours and busted out laughing! Not once, but 3 times! If I woke any of the humans, they never told me, but I did get a curious stare from Kitty Lou (my grandpug, who was curled up sleeping next to me). Thank you so much for sharing!
On a different note, some mentioned they wanted people to post pictures from Ally Pally - where would they do that and how could I view them? FB seems like a logical place, but I haven't been able to find Sue there (ha, maybe that's intentional on her part!) There are way more people with the name Sue Wilson than I would have guessed.
Based on comments, I don't think I'll be downloading the newest ISO update! I appreciate the warning but am sorry it came at anyone's expense. I do hope everyone gets their devices straightened out!
Molly - there is a quote I remember (but I don't recall the author) in times like these: "Rudeness is the weak man's imitation of strength." Whoever said the rude things on FB is clearly very weak and small-minded. Please don't give her the satisfaction of silencing you. Come back to our warm embrace!
Cheryl, although I am, for all intents & purposes, a stranger to you and yours, please know that I am sending heartfelt condolences your way. I hope the knowledge that there are people from different parts of the world expressing sorrow for your family's loss provides you some small measure of comfort.
I never comment on everything I want to -(hey! Is that a round of applause I hear?) and today is no exception, but I'm at the dropping my phone while falling asleep stage so I will bid you all adieu & hugs. Rebecca in Colorado

I would congratulate all last week's winners of Sue dies and cards but I am so green with envy I have had to lie down and am seriously thinking of calling my GP to deal with this severe case of jealousy syndrome!!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning the lovely Sue and the Wilsonettes,
I love this card Sue, everything about it just adds to it's beauty and enhances it even more. The peony flowers look so lovely stamped and die cut and coloured to match in with the frame. Your little lattice adornment dropping from the inside of the frame looks so pretty and adds that little something to a "plain" frame. Love the little pearl flower and leaf corners, they are just so pretty and cute. A beauty that anyone would love to have standing on their bookshelve or mantel piece, thank you Sue for another work of art. SO glad that you had fun at your "work" over the past few days as it will be a way of having faces to names that you know but have never seen and meeting all your dedicated fans who love you.
Well yesterday i went through to a little village called Forth in Lanarkshire and got my boy a kilt, hose(socks to non Scots), flashes for the hose, winged shirt and navy cravat for the wedding that we are going to in a fortnights time just trying to get him the jacket that he wants as he likes the Argyle jacket and waistcoat. The kilt was an ex hire one that they were selling off their stock so it cost me just £25 for a proper heavy weight wool 8 yrd kilt which is fantastic but the whole lot came to £35 which i think was an absolute bargain. I've ordered up his shoes, an adults sghian dubh as his is a wee laddies one that he has and a new belt buckle since i was a numpty and put back his belt and buckle to the hire shop 6years ago. Oh is he going to look handsome even though i say it myself as i only ever see him in joggies and thin t-shirts these days. Kirstens fiance has adamently refuses to wear a kilt so is going in a suit with a bright pink tie that she is making him wear as it will match her dress. Heee hee hee, he would have been better off in the Kilt with the navy cravat like Rory.
Well congratulations to all of the winners in the comment game and Heather who has won the stunning card, i hope that gives you as much inspiration as well as happiness flower.
Love and crafty hugs to all the lovely Wilsonette Angels that need them,
Norah (Glenochil)

Hellooo Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,

Yet another gorgeous card from you Sue, the last few days have seen some glorious creations. And I am so glad your shows were such a success at Ally Pally. Take time out now for a rest.

Rather late in the day for me to leave comments, I have been catching up with all the posts since my Grandson's funeral.
Thank you all for your lovely supportive comments and the outpouring of love and hugs you have shown and sent to me and family during this unhappy time in our lives.

It has distressed me greatly though, that some 'saddo' could leave such miserable, nasty comments on a young girl's FB page. How very dare you? Is your life that unhappy that you feel you need to upset somebody younger and more talented than yourself?
You certainly do not show the true comradeship that comes from all of Sue's supporters.
You have sucked the happiness out of young Molly through your twisted jealously and your sneering when she shares her little stories of hope and fears for her beloved Nan & Granddad is nothing less than disgraceful, and I sincerely hope that all the support from Sue's followers will show her that not everybody behaves like you. Molly, you are every bit as entitled as the rest of us to leave comments for Sue and I applaud you Molly, for being the 'adult' here when you tried to explain yourself to her.
Melody, you are very right in persuading her to come back, she has nothing to fear from the rest of us. We all support each other in our times of woe and it always gives me an warm, immense sense of pleasure that so many people care about us even though we only know of each other on this blog.
PLEASE come back Molly, I would love to hear more from you as do many others.
I am sending warm, fuzzy, comfort blanket (((((hugs))))) to you, Nan & Granddad and your family wrapped in Christian love. Take heart my little flower, don't waste time on those who suck happiness out of you, they cannot see your true worth. Their envy, spite and jealously blinds them.

To all those who need a ((((hug)))) right now, they are flying off to find you.
Love & hugs
Cheryl xxx

Hi everyone, greetings from sunny Cyprus. I'm catching up with all the lovely cards I've missed over the last week, and congratulations to the lucky winners.

I had a very difficult week, which is the reason for my absence. . I had been feeling very tired, but on the Tuesday I had a dizzy turn which resulted in a bad fall. I hurt my head and back and couldn't get myself up. My poor mother (85 tomorrow) hadn't a hope. Fortunately a friend phoned just at the right time and was here in two minutes to help. To cut a long story short, I spent Wednesday having tests at the Oncology Centre, which resulted in a blood transfusion on Friday. Anaemic again, but hopefully on the mend now.

Molly, I just can't believe how you have been treated. A grown adult bullying someone so much younger is just disgusting! Many others have said it, and I agree with them. Come back to the blog, we love to read your comments. Don't let the bully win!

Sending hugs to anyone who needs them,
Susi in Cyprus

Good evening lovely Sue and her Wilsonette crew!

What a gorgeous card to begin the week with. I love the colour combination though it looks more blue than lilac on my screen it only serves to enhance its beauty for me. The Noble collection must be the most essential sets to own in your entire collection- funny that I should say this cos when they first came out I struggled to see their endless potential, how stupid am I? That's why I need your limitless brilliance to show me the light, without your inspiration I would be a third rate crafter without any creative flair so Thankyou for helping me to push my limitations furtherxxx I also adore the stamped peonies, I managed to source them on ebay a couple of weeks ago and I am looking forward to trying them out soon. Note to self though, buy the configurations dies quick smart!
I have a confession to make, I'm ashamed to say that I am still avoiding my dreaded male 80th birthday cards for my uncle- rather than face my fears head on I spent the afternoon on my laptop looking at lottery winning houses with my Mum! I managed to find a few prospective properties but failed to choose the dies and design for my cards. Tomorrow is another day so Scarlett O'hara once said and given the choice of a mountain of ironing and an afternoon getting covered in microbeads and diamond snow I think I might just bite the bullet after all.
Janet, you fill me with foreboding, the Autumn Equinox and shorter daylight hours fill me with dread- I know I'm not alone in feeling a wave of depression at this time of year, but apart from a light box ...or latterly a sun bed...I find that getting stuck into Christmas cards gives me that warm fuzzy glow instead.
Sushi, sorry to hear about your health woes, hopefully the transfusion will put a spring back in your stepxxxx
Steph, lovely to have you back, hope you managed to recharge your batteries- your back in plenty of time for Sues shows at the weekend.
Beth, do you really know what your letting yourself in for? To be given carte blanche to behave disgracefully will no doubt turn my Mum grey overnight at the mere thought! She likes to keep me on a tight leash, preferring to avoid introducing me in polite company so having the freedom to let rip may lead to dramas, arrests and tears if past experience is anything to go by! Shall I bring a barrel of gin to get us started?
Rebecca, I want to hear Beth's story too, and you my dear should never feel intimidated about appearing humourous because you are clearly a natural- like you, every day brings an opportunity to embarrass myself:-)
All things Sue Wilsons crafts is the Facebook page your looking for if I'm not mistaken, there's a lovely pic of Sue and palsxx
You have a bizarre, though not entirely inaccurate vision of me as an eccentric, marginally insane, cat loving lunatic, do you think it might put people off?
Yvonne, missing you babes, hope you are feeling ok after the excitement of Sat...you didn't get arrested again surely?

Crafty hugs

Hi Sue

I love the colours, I liked yesterdays card too but was too tired to comment.

Gosh, where to start?! I just read 2 days worth of comments to catch up...

Cheryl, I'm sorry I didn't notice or post earlier but I'm so sorry for your and your families loss.

Congratulations to all the giveaway winners x

Steph, I hope you had a wonderful holiday (despite missing Sue's blog) and you were able to relax and see the sights where you were staying. Lovely to have you back x

Rebecca, I'm glad my humiliation provided entertainment and made it up to those who couldn't get to Ally Pally. Did laugh out loud writing it/ remembering it! It dawned on me that the kid would be around 20 now! Hopefully he hasn't been too severly traumatised lol

Norah there's no sight better than a man in a kilt. Rory will look smashing and wow, you got a real bargain!

Melody, I miss your Mollys posts. Tell her not one of us think she's silly, actually we think the opposite. Her posts make my day sometimes, it might be the enthusiasm she shows for her craft, or the way she writes (I used to work with kids her age and do miss it) or the love she shows for her family... I dont know what it is but she brightens my day and I'm guessing I'm not the only one. I agree 100% with what Norah said yesterday too. Tell her we don't want this bully to win, we want our Molly back! Sending hugs to all the family x

Billy had his yearly jabs today, there was an issue at the vets and they were running late so Billy had to see a man vet... Billy much prefers lady vets but he had his thunder shirt on and was being a brave lad. Man vet was very nice and gentle, Billy feeling a bit sorry for himself this evening as he normally does after his jabs. I feeling like an idiot this evening. I checked my hospital letter this evening, it is an appointment the hospital rearranged but the way they put the time in the letter made it look at first glance like the time hadn't changed... well, it had. Appointment is at 11:40am so we have to leave at 8:45am and hope there's no problems getting there. Not what I needed, when it arrived I wasn't at all well so no wonder the mistake was made but the way it was set out wasn't helpful either. Hopefully they will understand that and lay out the letters better in future. I'm not in a great place tbh so now may be the worst time for a hospital appointment but as just getting there was so hard I can't turn it down. Chances are I'll be too tired to comment tomorrow and possibly for a few days after. Don't be concerned, like Arnie "I'll be back!"

Sending hugs to all of you. Will be thinking of you all tomorrow as it will cheer me up! Sending extra hugs to those who need them for any reason,

T x
