Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello there my crafty friends!  Time for another card giveaway .  Today's offering has been done in blush, white and black card.  I started with the background and cut a piece of blush card.  Next I cut four of the Portuguese borders in black card.  I glued them to the edge of the blush card and mitred the corners with my scissors, which created a pretty scalloped point in each corner.  Next I cut a smaller piece of blush card and added four of the Petite Arched Adornment dies cut in black.  I glued them into each of the corners, overlapping them on the sides.  I matted the piece with a thin white mat and attached it in a diamond orientation to the card.  For the focal element, I cut the inside of the Classic Adorned Design Noble die out of coconut white card.  I backed it with blush card, glued them together and used the smaller cutting die to cut the centre out of it.  Next I cut it in half and put the two halves together and trimmed it down further.  I reassembled the halves to create a sort of round shape for the centre of my card.  I stamped my sentiment and added the rounded frame over it with mounting foam.  I cut several of the small Peony dies and arranged them so they covered the cut lines in my frame.  I finished the card with some flatback pearls as embellishments and my usual pierced mat layers.  The finished dimensions are 8" x 8" in size.  Leave me a comment to be included in the drawing to win this one.  The winner will be announced on Saturday's blog post.  All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, I know slots of people think that black is a sombre colour but when it is layered and mixed with a brighter colour it really is amazing as this card is. You can never go wrong with a Sue Wilson die.

Good Morning Sue,
Another beautiful card.
It's a bit dismal outside today, I think I am in for a nice crafting day, that is if I can get my Grand calibur fixed, the handle broke yesterday. I'm a bit miffed asi don't use it very often, and as soon as I get the junior plates which was a fantastic idea of yours as they work great. Wham 2nd day of using them my handle broke. Unfortunately I've had it too long for the guarantee to be used, but I usually use the big shot only use the calibur for larger dies usually. So I'm not amused, my husband has glued it, looks like I will have to invest in the new teal one it's supposed to be stronger.
Never mind it's back to the big shot for cutting and embossing and maybe a bit of stamping ,actually I've not used the cosmic colour cloud inks I have yet so might have a dabble with them today.
Hope the weather doesn't spoil your day today I'm much looking forward to the new channel tomorrow and watching John, I his stamps are fantastic and his demos are great. You've got a gem of a designer there.

Hi Sue

As you know I'm not a fan of black on cards but it looks much nicer with the blush than the harsh white. It is never the less a beautifully created card my friend. And of course there will be some who absolutely adore it and you, I know, try to please everyone.

Have a great day I can't believe it's Wednesday again. Someone has stolen my week again!

Morning Sue
A beautiful gift on a beautiful sunny morning here in Marigny.
Your colour palatte for today reminds me very much of the colours used in the 1930s (or so my Mum used to tell me)lol.
The format is simple and quite achievable and so today's gift has gone into my 'must do' file and I've a feeling that it just might come out to play in the very near future.
As usual my SW spot is ready and waiting. Good luck to everyone who comments today.

Have one bday card to make today and then I've got to start sorting my craft goodies in readiness to return to the UK at the beginning of next week.

To all in pain and suffering I hope your day gets better. To everyone please take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

Oh such a pretty card and color combination! And I can see everything so much better on my computer than I can on my IPhone lol. However, it hurts much less to have my iphone fall on my face if I fall asleep enjoying the blog than it does to have my laptop fall on my face! The blog is certainly not boring- I just tend to read it long after I'm supposed to be sleeping.
Every day I'm impressed at your creativity Sue! I love how you show us the versatility of your dies. Your talent is inspiring.
Your followers are also inspiring and kind. Once again, thank you for the warm welcome. I have this week off work, so I've been able to do some catching up on the blog (although maybe I'm supposed to be catching up on housework? - No, I'm on vacation - blog wins over cleaning!). It's only 11:30pm Colorado time and I'm already reading tomorrow's (well technically today's) post - hey that's accomplishing something right?

I hope everyone has a lovely day doing whatever it is you are doing - and know that someone in Colorado is sending you sunshine! We have plenty to share (I'm honestly not rubbing it in - we've had so many hot, hot 90+ degree days - a little rain to cool things off would be nice - so imagine I'm sending you each a little bottle of sunshine to pull out when you need it - and feel free to send me a bit of rain).
Rebecca in Colorado (since I'm writing this from my computer, I'm not sure what name it will come up as). Hey that's another bonus about computer vs IPhone, I can sure type quicker than I can text...but again, the size of the potential bump on my head makes me lean more towards the iphone in the future - oh well.

Hi Sue.
What a lovely comment left by CRAFT2LOVETOO (Rebecca from Colarado) ? A small bottle of your sun would be wonderful to keep in my 'crafting den' otherwise known as small box room in the UK or small 2nd ex bedroom) I had such a frustrating dropsie day yesterday due to my annoying, stupid deformed finger's thst its taken me 2 full days just to cut enough dies to decorate both sides of a large plain gift bag (the A4+) size from craft shops, and had my fingers had blood pumping through them instead of them being as blue as ink my day may have been less stressful and frustrating ! Had I had a bottle of Colerado sun to hold my fingers over it would have been a much nicer day instead of being close to tear's out of frustration lol !!!

I was suprised to read you had used the beautiful delicate blush card today as on my phone (which with each new day gets closer to the recycle bin) ! Another annoyance, it looks like the gorgeous taupe foundation card, either way I love black on cards and I think you have just enough to show the beauty of your dies, Taupe, black and white or blush would also look stunning..... Ping... These will be the next group of colour's I trial, cant wait to get more of the new coloured foundation card, my lovely friend treated me to a 'pick you up' and 'thank you' gift of the new Wisteria card plus a couple of suprise treat's and haven't yet opened the packet (Im also still at stroking point lol)
In fact Wisteria/Taupe/black sounds rather nice too.
Well Ive rambled enough as per so will wish you a lovely day whether is twirking or listening to the birds I heard again on yesterday's video enjoy your day Sue, and to Sam, Tina and Alison I send hugs (not getting any messages you send Im afraid) time foe a new phone ! Urgh.
So nice to see many new names popping up so please stay and enjoy.
Hugs.
Lancashire Steph (with verbal 'run's') xxx

Hi Sue & lovely Wilsonettes

WOW Sue, you have managed to knock me off the edge of my seat yet again with this stunning masterpiece & the colours simply match to perfection & of course the display of delicate flowers give it a completeness of perfection. I have the Portuguese background but not the border, now how did that happen & how utterly shameful of me, LOL, nothing for it this one is going to the top of my list. Thank you Sue for sharing such a spectacular card with us & I really do wish you all, my friends, the best of luck for the draw...a generous & worthy gift from our Sue indeed x x x

Well my friends it was raining hard as nails earlier much to Lauren’s disgust; bless her; she doesn’t usually mind the rain but this was heavy enough to sting the backside of a Rhinoceros, LOL, oops sorry Sue that just kinda slipped out (now who is it that’s having a bad influence on my sense of humour - I wonder, LOL).
How many of you believe in Karma & how sometimes as quick as lightening it can come right back at you? Last night Mr B announced out of the blue that “Men’s bodies are like well tuned Ferraris whilst Women’s bodies are like clapped out Minis”, wrong move Mr B because there were 3 females on the bed, LOL, & right at that moment Hannah & Lauren decided to both stretch out & using their back paws they pushed into his back & pushed him out of bed (gospel truth), he fell out onto their bed & had to stay for a little while as they then shuffled themselves into his spot & wouldn’t let him back into bed; well I was so creased up with laughter my stomach & sides were aching & tears streaming down my face, needless to say I laughed at Mr B’s announcement, the girls pushing him out & the triumphant looks on their faces was an absolute picture I shall hold in my memory for a long time to come x x x

When I thought he had suffered enough laying on the girls memory foam bed I called them to me & he jumped back in, I was still laughing in hysterics at that point so maybe I had hurt his pride a little; LOL. I sing Lauren & Hannah’s praises on behalf of all the females in this world...that’ll teach him, LOL.

Thank you my friends for sharing your wonderful stories on your pets cute bedtime antics, I so enjoyed reading them. Shame you aren’t able to cuddle the goldfish Theresa, have you even asked if THEY want a cuddles anyways, LOL; forget I said that I’ve probably been watching Disney’s Nemo & others too many times, LOL x x x

LYNDA my friend, the Bach’s Rescue Remedy can be bought from any pharmacy & although it is a natural flower remedy it might be better to check with your vet to make sure it wouldn’t affect any of Annie’s medication, there is another fantastic product but I wouldn’t recommend because they are coated in sugar. On that note I shall send (((HUGS))) & kisses to all of your cute pets & wish them all well. X x x
LORRAINE my friend I forgot to congratulate you on winning John’s card, how naughty of me, it is surely in the bag that with your influence you will one day complete your collection, LOL. X x x

CHERYL my friend I feel like a clot because I missed out the part the other day where I congratulated Maureen on her sales & deleted the part where I hoped that yours had also gone well x x x

YVONNE my friend your sense of humour is sorely missed, hope you are okay & coming back to us soon x x x

Must close for now Sue, to you & all our lovely Wilsonettes I send you love, (((HUGS))) & wishes for a good day. Beth B x x x

Hello Sue

Even though you said it was the Portuguese Border Die in the background it still took me a little while to picture it, that is so clever ans such a different look. I love your colour combination and the Noble frame. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful card. Black seems to add such an elegant element to any card. Love the crispness. It's also nice to see an actual die cut of a die I have on my wish list...it's sometimes difficult to determine exactly how a die cut will look when just looking at the actual die. Just love your talent. Jan D., FL, USA

Hello Sue
Love this card to bits. It took me a little while to work out the Portuguese border, you are just so clever, I'm going to try some mitring with some of your other borders and see what happens. Thank you for hey more inspiration and ideas.

Maggie, JJ and anyone else who has a broken GC handle, do contact spellbinders, they sent me one free of charge straight away despite my GC being out of guarantee. Creative expressions will also send one out for a few pounds, I ordered one from them before I contacted spellbinders, so now I have two LoL

Love and hugs for all

Hi Sue, a most attractive card (despite having so much black lol) and I love the way you have used the dies. I really like the blush card and found a good use for some last week - I was making a wedding card using the bride & kilted groom from Joanna Sheen and the card was absolutely perfect for the hands, heads & legs.

Beth - love your dogs, they soon showed Mr B who's boss!
Yvonne - hope you feel much better very soon.

Hi Sue and to all the Crafters online,

I am similar to Lesley, I don't do a lot of cards in black, but your combo looks stunning.

I must remember this card, and have a go with similar dies. I have just bought some of your black card too so what luck.

Love n hugs all from Dorothy Macdonald in Baldock.

What a beautiful card today. I really love black and white, so adding blush makes it really lovely.

I am getting used to cutting into die cuts now as you seem to produce lovely effects. I love trying to do something different with the die cuts.

Look forward to more tomorrow!

Good evening lovely Sue and the fabulous Wilsonettes!

Boy am I late today! Had a rather hectic day-I popped by at breakfast to catch up your gorgeous giveaway and the comments posted but had to dash off to beautify myself for a trip to the nail technician. It takes longer than I care to admit to get ready nowadays, and it's not so much a slowing down due to ageing bones, rather, it takes longer for the extra thick layer of Polyfilla to dry before I can face my public:-)
Today's card is a splendid example of Sue at her best, a few sheets of paper and her wonderful dies and voila! A masterpiece is created.
I love the colour palette, so much so that I decided to get shiny black gel polish on my nails with the obligatory sprinkle of glitter thrown in.
In fact, this was very much part of my masterplan to co ordinate perfectly with this weeks card so.that you couldn't fail to disappoint me by choosing another recipient Sue...my craftroom just so happens to be black, cream and taupe also so it would stand out proudly in harmony with its surroundings! I'm just saying......
Dear Beth, you had me in stitches with your fantastic sense of humour and tales of Mr B's misfortune....he may choose his comments more wisely in the future:-) I would have left him to sulk on in the doggie bed a bit longer though! Let's see how his Ferrari engine performed trying to reclaim his spot from three irate minis:-)
Like you Beth, I have enjoyed hearing the tales of all our furry...and in Theresa's case, scaly, friends- they never fail to amuse us with their antics and bring such joy into our lives. I would be lost without my babies, they make me laugh every single day with their antics.
Hope Lauren and Hannah are feeling perkier Bethxxx
I have informed my Mum in advance that John will be showcasing Sues dies tomorrow just to pre prepare her for the fall out-she wasn't entirely sympathetic to my desperate need to add to my current collection but I will carefully lay the groundwork before taking custody of our credit card by 8pm....wish me luck!
Just wanted to say welcome to our newer Wilsonettes, it's lovely to hear your anecdotes, and I to , often fall asleep in the early hours trying to watch Sues wonderful demos, this blog is so addictive.
Yvonne, great to hear from you, your cheek has been greatly missed honey- hope you get your strength back soonxxxx

Love and crafty hugs,

Laine1972xxxx

Hi Sue. This is a really beautiful card !! I love the contrast of the black against the blush and white card. What a great way to use your Portuguese border dies !! They look so different and so very pretty used in this way to create some new decorative corners. I also love the way that you have used the Petite arched die to. Again, I think you have created more very pretty corners. I think the topper part of your card made with your new Noble Dies is just gorgeous Sue !! I would never have thought of cutting down the Noble Dies to create the smaller die needed for the centre. I love the beautiful little flowers you have made to, that cover up the joins of the cut dies. This is such a beautiful card !! Thank you for sharing it today. I would also like to thank you so much Sue for all your hard work in bringing all these beautiful cards to us everyday. I cannot wait to see the new craft channel tomorrow and I am hoping to see John Lockwood on TV in the evening. I can't wait to see you on there to Sue. Let's hope that the presenters allow you plenty of demo time without constant interruptions. Sending you lots of love today Sue from Tres x x x
