Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hi bloggers!  Today's card giveaway is a pretty aqua and white card (I seem to be using aqua quite a bit lately, huh!)  I started by cutting the Stacked Diamond Striplet in the bottom of the card, using just the decorative insert die.  Next I did a letterpress on the entire background and inked up the Bed of Roses folder with Clear Perfect Medium and placed the die cut background into the folder.  I ran it through the GC which transferred the ink to the floor of the design.  I covered  it with Pearlescent Mica powder to give it an all over sheen, then dusted it with a tissue to remove any excess.  I backed this piece with aqua card so it showed through the cut out area.  For the focal element on the card, I cut two of the  Vancouver die and then cut them in half just past the centre point, keeping the two larger halves.  I cut the Lisbon die in aqua and backed it with white backing which I cut the centre out of with the Porto die.  I attached the Vancouver dies to the back of the Lisbon die so they were peeking out from underneath and trimmed away any area that showed through the centre cut out area.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the circle centre die in the Porto set and made a faux mat for it in aqua.  I mounted them in the centre of the frame.  I completed the card with some flatback pearls and a paper pierced white mat, a thin aqua mat and a final white mat layer.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  8 3/4" in size.  Leave me a comment to be included in the drawing to win this one.  Then check back on Saturday's blog post to see if your name was drawn!  Easy as pie!  All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue

Any shade of blue is fine by me! I love the letterpress technique + medium + mica. I did a gold mica on black for my stepmums 50th birthday card,the sentiment goes to you from me for having this lovely blog where I can communicate with such lovely people-

Crafters= lovely people!

Molly, I'm sorry Grandad feels so rotten. I'm sure if he and Nanna tell the hospital they can adjust things or if he's allowed it, give him medicine to stop him being sick. He's lucky to have you girls looking out for him. I will wish hard for him to feel better soon and send you all hugs xxxx

Beth, you poor thing! I had an abcess under a tooth about a month back and it huuuuurrrrts! Hope you don't get side effects from anti biotics, that's no fun either. Hope it clears up soon, hugs xxxx

Thank you Alimecca, Diane, Theresa, Lorraine & Yvonne, hugs to you all xxxx
Slept through most of today! Had just enough energy for a shower before tea and felt much more with it after. Even after sleeping all day I'm looking forward to my bed.

Re Ironing- Only when sewing or when absolutely necessary. Almost all clothes and fabric must be non crease. Irons last me for decades due to such light usage even in a very hard water area!

Re Mr W. Take instruction?... (laughs loudly) Experience has taught me to suggest things rather than tell him. I'm right because I read instructions before I start. I then congratulate him for trying my suggestion and getting it right. Job done, happy man, no arguments. Several years working with school children taught me this method of negotiation!

Mr W got his 24hrs off again tomorrow. PA and youngest brother coming to help tomorrow and will be lovely to spend time with Alex. Guess after tomorrow next time I see him will be his birthday then he's back to uni a few days later. Cumbria is a very long way from Suffolk so then I won't see him till Christmas.

Time to get Billy out for his bedtime business. Hugs to Sue, Mom and Wilsonettes everywhere, extra hugs if you need them are always here. Billy sends wags and woof to all the crafty pets too.

T x

So beautiful! I think you did a video on this? The embossing folder is so gorgeous and from what I can tell, the letter pressing technique makes it extra special. Would love to see one of your cards in person (so to speak). I'm sure they are even more lucious up close and personal. I'll just have to cross my fingers that someday I'll be a lucky winner :)
