Just For You

Good Sunday morning all!  I thought I would show off one of the matching stamps for my Caribbean Collection dies.  First off I created my background by using just the decorative insert from the Cygnus Gemini die set on each side of the background.  I raise it with foam and added it over another piece of white card for a tone on tone look that showed off the detail nicely.  For the focal element, I stamped the Island Garden Stamp To Die For stamp in black Archival ink.  I coloured it with Distress markers (Shaded Lilac, Forest Moss and Worn Lipstick)  I covered it with a sticky adhesive sheet and cut it out with the matching St. Barts die.  It is easy to line up through the sticky sheet if you hold it up to the light, the black lines will easily show through.  Once cut, I covered it with clear micro beads for a lovely texture.  I cut two Caribbean corners and added them to the top and bottom of the die cut before adding it to the centre of my background.  I cut the centre of the St. Barts die in white and layered it up in the middle with foam and topped it with my sentiment, which I cut out with the smallest die in the St. Barts die set.  I inked it with Shaded Lilac before removing it from the die.  I completed the card by piercing a white mat and adding another white mat for backing.  The finished dimensions are 8" x  8" in size.

Sunday Smiles to you Sue.
What a gorgeous card you have for us. I just adore tone on tone particularly white on white, but that's pop of colour for the focal point just - In your words makes the card sing, it really is adorable.
Managed to watch yesterday's video and I agree with those that admired your top, you popped out of that recording like a summer's day 😊
I also caught up with the 2 shows I recorded on HOCHANDA - I have eaten my words and put it right all being well, so have the next lot of shows tomorrow all set up ready.
Well, that is it apart from congratulating the comment winners.
Sending Sunday hugs to you Sue and Sam and to Alison and Tina, whatever your plans for the day, have a good one.

Morning Sue from a bright and sunny Marigny
Today's gift is just gorgeous. I love the stamp and the colours are just perfect. White/white with just that little bit of colour certainly draws the eye to where you want it to go. This gift has certainly gone into my 'must do' file and I know that it will not recline there very long before it pops outIt.

It's a full on day here today. Packing the car and doing the last housework jobs that need doing. I know that be the end of the day that if it's as HOT as yesterday was then I'm going to have one humungous headache or probably murdered my other half. We shall see.

To all in pain and suffering today I hope your day gets better and to everyone please take care and stay safe. I might just get to see you tomorrow before we set off.

I like the way you have put micro beads over the stamp, it gives a more subtle look, I will be trying this one. I had a whole day of uninterrupted card making yesterday. I didn't copy your cards, as I haven't got all your dies and stamps, but I took inspiration from them and came up with my own version. Without you planting the ideas in my head I would be at a loss as where to start, so thank you Sue. I am one of the lucky winners of the weekly draw, I'm over the moon!
Thank you for making my day

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, a really sunny card today on this dull and dismal Sunday which looks like it is going to get worse rather then better later. However your card is a lovely reminder of summer, thank you. I also love the tone on tone white it really does make a beautiful creation.

Am enjoying Hochanda and am looking forward to seeing you on there.

Congrats to all the lucky winners.

Happy Sunday everyone, stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Another beautiful card...I'm so struck by the sizes of your cards...I love the large sizes, but am curious how you mail them. Do you make envelopes? Here in the States, over-sized cards cost a small fortune to mail, although I still make my cards large (A2 size just isn't enough space for me)...but, usually only up to 5x7 or 6x6. I like that your dies accommodate larger cards... TFS your art and talent with us. Jan D., Florida, USA

Lovely card today, Sue, do like the Cygnet cutout side panels and the micro beads give such a softening effect. Beautiful.
Well done to all the comment winners - lots this week.
Jan D - in UK basic postage only applies to things smaller than 24 x 16.5 cm, but after that a large letter is up to about A4 paper size and the bonus is that the thickness allowed goes up to 2.5 cm, so lots of leeway. Better to be hung for a sheep as a lamb is the old saying, so if you're sending a bigger card you may as well pile on the embellishments!! Easy posting is in a large padded envelope with a bit of extra cardboard stiffener if necessary - seem to arrive okay and I post loads. It's always a bit of a toss-up, economy and flat, or bigger blousier cards costing not an awful lot more to mail. Can also economise by posting second class a day or three earlier - can you do that in the US?

Good afternoon Sue and the lovely Wilsonettes!

Wowzers! What a gorgeous card with just the right amount of colour to make the focal point pop. The stamp is beautiful and really enhanced by your expert colouring-note to self,I really should get some distress markers. I love the Cygnus die and used it recently on my brothers birthday card, it's reminiscent of the Art Deco movement. All in all, a superb card!
Just a quick pop by, had a hectic day with my little nephew and niece- they're both diabetic so mealtimes are a challenge to say the least, is it just me or are kiddies getting fussier with the availability of so much convenience foods? We decided to go to Stirling Castle which is fantastic, and being a History graduate I love going to anywhere older than me! Hard though that may be to find any places nowadays:-) The historical significance is somewhat lost on an 8 yr old and a 4 yr old though, they are happy just running round the grounds and battlements. Windy's not the word though, needed a sheepskin coat and a can of hairspray even though it's summer and deceptively sunny. Much fun and hilarity was had by all though but I'm now rather pooped and in need of a warm drink and a catch up on today's comments.
Good news that John has been scheduled to do some more shows on Hochanda tomorrow- I really enjoyed the other day, I just hope we have a new die selection on offer.
I'm going to spend the rest of the afternoon watching Sues you tube demos looking for some inspiration for my Mums birthday cards. I have been trying to complete a cross stitch of a photograph of our sadly departed cats Gizmo and Dante for her present but unfortunately it has proved more challenging than I had anticipated- if only we chose black and white cats instead of tabbys I would have been finished months ago:-) Nevermind, I have some tigers and a lion plus it's cubs that I have also done for her so I'll get them framed instead.
Beth, Yvonne, Melody and family, plus anyone else who needs a healing hug, hope you are all having an easier day and feel a bit betterxxx
Hope you are enjoying the latter part of your holiday with Mum Sue, looking forward to seeing you on our screens again soonxxx

Love and crafty hugs,

Hello Sue.

The Cygnus die cuts looks great. I really like the look of the Island Garden stamp, I don't own any in the range, I will have to do some investigating, lol. Lovely card and colour. Thanks for sharing.

Your Cygnus Gemini die set is goregeous! Everytime I see it cut-out, I say I must buy this one. Have not done so yet. I definetly will check in the US for a source for it this week. Just gotta have it! Your card is lovely today. Most of us would stop layering long before you do. You inspire us to go a step or two, or three, beyond when we think we are finished. Those extra steps/layers give our cards that extra special "Sue Wilson" touch. I especially like the added micro-beads. Wishing all a great week.

What a very striking card. I love it's apparent simplicity (although I can see there is a lot of work involved)

Evening Sue
As always gorgeous card
Congratulations to all the winners - today's and any I've missed whilst not fully active.
Still not brilliant but managed to have a bath - and get back out again - unaided, (without getting stuck! Then after a rest I was able to make myself a coffee. This may not sound like much but believe you me it's huge in Yvonne's world.
I have not been able to go through all the comments yet as my brain cell is still refusing to behave and process information.
Lots of love to everyone. Hoping you're Bank Holiday is enjoyable.

Hi Sue

We have had our great grandaughter staying with us for the past week, so I haven't had much time for looking at cardmaking websites, or for that matter not much computing at all. We have been down a coal mine, found our way around a maze and she even had a horse riding lesson, as well as visiting a museum, and just a little bit of crafting.
All in all we have had a very busy week.
She went home yesterday, so now I will be catching up on all your tutorials. I love todays card, no ribbons or flowers, but very striking.

Hi Sue et al! This card was another one that made me catch my breath - it's just so pretty! Sue I so appreciate that even on non video days, your instructions are so clear I know I can follow them. Like Linda M mentioned, even if we don't have the dies and can't copy a card, there is so much inspiration in the gifts you give us every day! However, this one is a must-do for me (I have the dies-just not the stamp-yet)!
Theresa, no need to apologize (I asked about "wellies"). I really enjoy coming across terminology that is unfamiliar to me and hopefully you won't mind me asking for clarification occasionally :) I once heard John Cleese say that Americans don't speak English, not the Queen's English anyway :o) I'm happy to learn when I can. Glad you got a little sunshine - oops I forgot to send the sunscreen with the sun lol.
Laine, sounds like you had a fun day with your nephew & niece! They certainly can wear you out tho can't they? Delightfully exhausting :)
Fortunately for our local delivery men, I'm at work while they are delivering-so I think I'm in the clear as far as restraining orders go! However if I were able to attend whatever this "ally pally" is that some of the Wilsonettes discuss, I might have to be restrained! I'd probably make quite the spectacle, what with all the giddy, happy dancing & shouting I'd be doing (& that's without me even fully knowing what it is lol)! I'm a little on the excitable side myself :o)
Take heart Laine, I'm from "Sunny Colorado" not "sodden Scotland" and alas, my extremities are as pasty as they come! It's either that or beet-red from sunburn for me - so pasty it is.
Maria thanks for the info on the bank holidays. Our banks are closed on a few Mondays throughout the year too, but it is usually because of another national holiday. Most places don't get off work on all the national holidays, but the banks get them all. Well I certainly hope you all enjoy the day!
Molly I hope you have a wonderful holiday and enjoy time with your little sisters. It sounds like you are a great help to your family and they appreciate it. They also want you to have fun being young - so go and have some :)
Hurray to all the comment winners!
I hope all who are not feeling well get better each & every day!
