Sunday 2 August 2015

Hello

Good Sunday Morning all!  The same card in two different colour ways today!  I originally made the card in purples, then when I demoed it a while ago, I did it in aquas so I am posting both versions on today's post.  I cut the Delphinus die out of coconut white card using just the decorative insert.  While still in the card, I inked it with Dusty Concord before removing it.  I backed it with Wisteria card.  Next I cut the Hello die in white and backed it with Wisteria card as well.  I created a frame using the outer cutting die from the Hello die and mounted it over the sentiment.  I recessed the Delphinus die cut by creating a raised channel around it with mounting foam and added the framed Hello die cut on top of the other side of the channel.  I matted and layered it with a white pierced layer, a thin Wisteria mat and a final white mat.  The aqua version was made the same way, just with Aqua card and Adirondack Aqua ink.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  8 3/4" in size.  Which colour way do you prefer?

The winners of the Weekly Comment Game are:

Lizzybea!!!
Tressa!!!
Izzy!!!

Congratulations!  Please email me aat americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your prize.  All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue. Sunday Smiles to you.
The design is just beautiful and the delphinus die looks gorgeous inset like that, never had the chance to see such a clear close up picture of it until today and its sooo pretty.
The new wisteria shade of purple is lush cant wait until our craft shop starts to stock it along with the other new shades (still not watched your most recent show's yet) !
The purple card is warm and bold, the blue, delicate and soothing, both so beautiful in their own way.
'spring cleaned' my phone yesterday and got rid of so much dead rubbish so hopefully I wont keep getting 'low on space and storage' messages coming through (sounds like my den' lol low on storage space lol.

Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,

And a bright cheerful sunny day beckoned earlier but now it has gone very cloudy. Do hope we are not going to have any more rain, yesterday turned out dreary and dismal.
However, I was cheered up by the gorgeousness of the two new shades of Foundation card. Both so pretty and showcasing your dies to perfection. Hmm, not thought of recessing them before but how stunning they have turned out to be. Absolutely fabulous Sue.

Congratulations to the comments winners so lovely to see your names up.

Had my tea and hot buttered crumpets in the Café, now off to prepare my beef joint for slow roasting. My sister Beverly's birthday is today and my family are coming out to help her celebrate later on for lunch. Reason why I need the sun to arrive, I bought new patio furniture earlier on this year in the hope that we would be able to eat outside. So far we've only managed it once! Fingers crossed.

However you plan to spend today, enjoy it, life is for living not moaning.

Love & hugs

Good Morning Sue & Friends,
What a gorgeous fresh looking card, love both colour ways to be honest.
Now the excitement when Pat was over the other day and set eyes on my new arrival of Foundation card was off the scale, she absolutely loved the new colours as did Sue,I shared a few sheets with Pat as she was so keen to get her hands on some, but that's what friends are for!
Now that we are officially in August we can all start to say "see you next month Sue" !!!! Yes Ally Pally show is just weeks away now, where is the year disappearing too? !!
I am hoping that we will have our "cafe Road Trip" like we had at the last Ally Pally show, it was such a fantastic day, spending time with Sue and all of the lovely cafe ladies too, such an amazing bunch of friends all made through your amazing blog Sue, thank you xxx
So if there are any of you that haven't been the AP show is an amazing show for shopping, inspiration (as there are so many demonstrators) including all of the CE team, so you can watch them demo and ask them questions too, so get your tickets early!
When we have done AP we have our Cafe Retreat to look forward to, we are all quite excited for that too.
Right I am off to my craft room!
Cheryl I hope the sun shines so that you can celebrate Beverly's birthday lunch outside!
Love and hugs to my lovely craft friends,

Good Afternoon Sue and fab Wilsonettes,

What a striking card, I really like the effect of the recess and I am fortunate enough to have some of the lovely Foundations card which adds further depth to the finished result. Whilst both colours are lush, my own personal preference would be the Wisteria shade because purples are my favourite colour. I have all of the dies featured-I even have two of the Delphinus die so I could multi task and create two at once!
Congrats to this weeks winners, particularly Izzy who was generous enough to give some of her gorgeous bags away on some of Sues shows, hope you enjoy your gift...and stalking the postman!
I've had a particularly rumbustious morning with my niece and nephew, and they have now departed to the local Highland Games-it is predictably wet and gloomy today for the event so I have elected to stay at home in the dry doing what I do best...crafting! I must be entering my dotage I guess, cos the thought of rolling around a muddy field sends shivers down my spine!
Hope the weathers better for your get together Cheryl, if you live outside of Scotland I'm sure it must be:-) have a lovely day!
Sandra, how lovely to hear about your friendships forged through Sues wonderful blog, I only wish that I lived closer to Ally Pally so that I could get to meet you all. Never mind, it's great to have our daily catch ups through the blog, I have met some fantastic, humorous and very talented ladies who share a passion for crafting the Sue Wilson way which is wonderful in itself because crafting can be an isolated pursuit if you don't have classes in your area.
Hope everyone enjoys their Sunday and gets a good rest before the week ahead. Thank goodness it's August and the year is going so quickly is it won't be long before we have another batch of Sues tv shows-I've started saving already:-)

Loads of love ang crafty hugs,

Two beautiful cards today Sue, love the way you have used the Delphinus die to create an interesting channel. The wisteria and aqua card colours are among my faves. Had a go with my newly acquired Delphinus yesterday but rushed and my craft room is not very tidy at the moment, not much space to work, so made a bit of a pigs ear of it. Will have another go this week, the world loves a tryer,
