In My Thoughts

Good morning all!  Today's card is one of my favourite colour combos with the black, gold and milk card choice.  I started by embossing the milk card for my background using the Braided Vines embossing folder.  I cut two of the Canadian Borders in milk card and turned them so the straight sides were to the outside and the inside swirls were slightly overlapping.  I glued them to the bottom of the card.  I made a decorative 3D bow using the Mosaic Bow in vintage gold card backed with the Classic Bow in black.  I assembled the bow and glued it into place in the centre of the two borders.  For the focal element, I used the Toronto die and cut the larger decorative die out of vintage gold card.  I backed it with black.  Next I stamped my sentiment on milk card and used the inside decorative die to cut it.  I mounted it in the centre with foam to raise it for dimension.  I matted the entire piece with a thin black at before adding my final matting and layering.  A very simple card, but elegant in its simplicity.  I added some flatback cream pearls as embellishments.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  8 1/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue,
Gorgeous card and really like the sentiment too.
Sorry haven't been round for a week but Dave and I went to London and stupidly I forgot to take my phone and nod tablet! Had them packed in a separate bag which I forgot to pick up. By the time I'd realised it was too late to go back as we'd have missed the train!! So had a technology free week for a change. Wondered why there was so much security in London , hadn't realised it was Trooping the Colour so that was a bonus too. Loved the spectacle of it all. Had a lovely week although the first half it was really quite chilly, like being at home. Went to see Beautiful, the Carole King story which I can recommend to everyone - what a fabulous show. So many fantastic songs in it. So now I'm back, I'll have to try to catch up with everyone's comments and of course your beautiful cards. Hope everyone has as good a day as possible. Love Alison xx

Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,

A bit of a cloudy start to the day, cheered up by a classic Sue combo in your gorgeous card.
Like others, I keep forgetting I have the bow dies also. That's what makes you so unique in the crafting world Sue, you remind us of things we have bought and not used for a while. So it's bow making today for me once my visitors have gone. I like to keep my stock box refilled of all the items I use the most. Saves time later on as I can pick a colour and find all the flowers and finishing touches already done.

My thoughts are with Janet on your loss of a loved family member.
To all those in discomfort may your pain ease over the day.

Love & hugs

Beautiful and elegant card. The colour combination makes the card look so lavish. It's gorgeous.
Well I have been a woman of very few words (very unusual for me), for over a week now. I have been under the weather and out of action meaning I've been unable to do much at all. I did manage to look at the cards on most days but have a lot of catching up to do with the videos. And there's an extra one. It's as exciting as sitting down to watch your favourite box set all in one go!
I have been unable to read the comments from you all, as I love to do, so I have plenty to read and keep me out of mischief.
I hope everyone is well and it's so good to be back.
Lots of love to everyone.

Good morning Sue,

What a stunning card to start the week with-and how nice to see the return of an old favourite, the bow detail. I am alarmingly desperate for the Canadian die set, I just wish I had a birthday coming soon because Christmas is too far away! Never mind let's hope I have deep enough pockets because I cannot wait a moment longer for the background die in particular.
No crafting for me today, have a lunch date to keep, however I may squeeze a bit of cross stitching in later on-I am in the process of tackling a large picture of our two sadly departed cats which I have had converted into a cross stitch by DMC, it has 47 different threads and requires a lot of concentration but it will be well worth it when I hand it over to my mum on her birthday later this year.
Hope you are enjoying the tail end of your holiday Sue, we look forward to seeing you in old Blighty soon-pack a brolly though!:-)

Crafty hugs and kisses
