Swirly Channel Card

Hello my crafty friends!  Today's video card is one of my favourite types of cards to make, a channel card.  This channel card uses a simple swirl repeatedly to bridge the channel and give a lovely swirly effect.  Hope you will have a chance to watch the video and see how it's done!

On another note, I hope you will be able to join me tomorrow for the blog launch of my new Christmas dies for 2015!  The fun starts promptly at 6 am and runs for four days!

I will be postponing the drawing announcement for the Wednesday card giveaway until after the blog launch is finished.  Check Tuesday's blog post for the winner.

 The finished dimensions are
7 1/2"  x  8 1/2" in size.
All for now, Sue x

What a beautiful clean and very classy gift today. No bows or glitter to take away the beauty of your wonderful dies. I have to say that your background die used today was one of my favourites from the last launch and very quickly found a home with my other dies I have of yours Sue. Love the colour palette and I would never think of using the swirls for a channel but certainly will now. All in all I love today's gift.

I managed to get another bday card made yesterday so now that I'm back into the swing of things here I must carry on even though the weather is sooooooooooooooo tempting for me to go outside.

To all in pain and suffering today I hope your day gets better. To everyone please take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

Hi Sue. Just love this card. Good morning Sue and Wilsonettes,
I do love this swirls that you brought out and use them quite a fair bit Sue as it is one die that i just can't get enough of using as it doesn't matter where i use them they are always just right. This card is just an example of that in the just right category as they lace across that divide just prettily sewing it together in a lace work pattern. The rest of the card is lovely as well but i don't have these dies as yet, but hey ho that's the way it goes as it's just not possible for some of us to get all the beautiful new dies that are out but we just supplement them with a different equally as beautiful from our crafty pile. I do like the white against the aubergine though as it breaks up the darker colour and lightens it just lovely. Sorry you brought out the new Christmas dies and i just had to order Santa across the rooftops, The sparkling snowflake border which i just fell in love with and the wee santa and reindeer flying so that i can use it with the main image. I did fall in love with an awful lot more but you just have to cut your cloth to suit your pocket sometimes. Thank you Sue for the lovely card of today and video as these keep us going when you are not around live and in person.
well i have dropped my wee boy off at the school early today as he has a calculation to do to finish his ASDAN work which will be recognised by employers and he has filming to do for the National Art Gallery again so peace will reign supreme when i get his father out from under my feet. My lovely hills are having a sleepy day today as they have drawn a fine mist blanket over the top of them and the clouds are still resting from the hard shift of floating aimlessly around, but it is a lovely day up here in Central Scotland and will be even better once the sun comes out to play and dry my washing. I have just some male cards to do for the school and then that is it all done and a thank you card for my beautiful flowers and mini buffet that they so kindly done for me last week.
So i will wish you all a lovely day and hopefully see you all tomorrow
Love and crafty hugs to my Wilsonette Angels both on blog and not at the moment,
Norah (Glenochil)

Hi Sue, a beautiful card and I love it. I have the splendid swirls so that is the channel sorted, but I will have to think about alternatives for the Caribbean collection.
Really looking forward to the launch tomorrow. I love all the dies and have my favourites already but I am waiting to see what you create with them before I finally decide which ones to purchase (unless I win the lottery on Saturday, in which case I will be buying them all lol).

Karen - my sympathies on your recent loss and my thoughts are with you.

Hi Sue

Beautiful! I adore the colours, so rich. The channel gave me an idea with a border die. I don't have your swirl so it'd be my take on it. Itching to play now! As for tomorrow, wow weeeee! I've been looking forward to it since the mailshot emails have been talking about the new release. There are two "must have, no question, give them to me now!!!" Four "mmmm, delicious, yes please!" As for the rest I'll be buying my lottery ticket. I love my "let it snow" and that'll get plenty of use again. I don't make my very final decision on new dies until I've seen them in action though. Dies are gorgeous and I can only guess how hard it is to get an attractive representation of thek on the packet! But the two definites are definates! The stamps are an absolute triumph too, I love tbem and can't wait to see them on the DT cards xxx
Karen, sending many hugs & love at this difficult time xxxxxx

Jess, hope the graduation ceremony was lovely xxx

Norah, hope Rory got on ok, pass on a virtual hug from Billy & myself xxx

Billy sends paw hugs, wags n woofs to Cully, Lauren, Monty xxx

I'm very happy, I found out I am seeing a very good friend on Sunday morning. I've not seen her for about 18 years as she lives in Sheffield, we write but visits weren't possible. She's bringing her hubby to meet us. Billy will be delighted to meet new people. I am also at a local workshop Saturday learning to draft my own sewing patterns (hopefully lol)- the first "day out" (apart from the hospital visit) since 2nd weekend of February. Agreed with the tutor that I will be going for as long as I can manage and if I need to leave work shop early she'll provide me with notes. Will be very busy but its wonderful to look forward to something. Does mean from now on in it's resting only, but will be well worth it!

If I don't make it tomorrow it's because I'm resting after few days of insomnia and before a few days of busy!

Lots of smiles across the miles, hugs & happy crafting to Sue and all the Wilsonettes, I have plenty extra for anyone who needs them,

T x

Hi Sue and Wilsonettes

I have seen a channel card but never thought that I could actually make one but thanks to your video Sue highlighting point by point on how to make this then I can honestly that I am now determined to actually make one.

This card is really beautiful Sue with the fabulous Caribbean background...not forgetting the gorgeous Swirls on the channel...the lacy effect around the Caribbean is also a winner for me because it looks so delicate and would look perfect with any cutting die.

Thank you as always Sue for a lovely gem this morning and for sharing a fantastic is always appreciate.
