You're Wonderful

Good Sunday morning!  Today's card uses the Pierced Flag die set is a different sort of way; to make a background!  I rather like this idea as I think it could be so easily adapted to do a man's card.  It sort of looks like panelling or even maybe has a marine sort of feel to it (like a divers helmet?).  Do you see it or is it just me? LOL  Anyways, the hope is that this may give you a few ideas for those pesky male cards we all have to make from time to time!  I started by embossing a piece of black card using the Climbing Vines embossing folder.  I matted it with a piece of vintage gold card.  I used the Ornate Pierced Rectangle die set to create a gold frame, then backed it with black. Next I cut several of the Pierced Flags in white and glued them diagonally on to a piece of white card.  I added mounting foam to the back of the frame then placed it over my diagonal flags.  I trimmed away the excess from around the edge and glued it to the embossed background.  Next I used the Complete petal Camellias and cut a scad of different sizes and arranged them on opposite corners.  Each flower had a white flatback pearl in the centre.  I added a black jute bow on the lower corner. I stamped a sentiment and using the centre ovals from the Classic Adorned Noble Rectangle die set, cut it out and added a gold mat.    I cut a few flowers using the Blossoming Branch die in black and added them to the sentiment.  I attached the sentiment with mounting foam in the lower corner inside the frame.   The card was then completed with my usual piercing and matting and layering with black and gold card.  A final wider white mat was added.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  9" in size.

The winners of this weeks Comment Game prizes are:

Rosemary Strickland!!!
Nannie Flash!!!

Sunday smiles to you Sue. Life has being playing strange games with me lately so thought first on my list is to check in to my favourite place in the world before I do anything else and you never disapoint. Like Clare W id never think of using the flag die in this way, here I was thinking I was being clever by cutting it on a fold to make an open flag shape tag lol but to make them into a background - well, that is why im sending the sentiment back to you Sue : )
Pesky male cards HAVE to be the hardest to make so this idea is brilliant. Maybe a few more folders like the scored lines folder would be useful too, what do you think ? As I struggle for male folders to work with.
Its a beautiful card Sue. Hope you are having an amazing time making memories.
Congrats to comment winners, some new names listed today, welcome, hope you will stay with us and spread the word that this is the most wonderful place to be for inspiration and friendship.
Love to all that dont feel so well today.

Morning Sue, another great card and I've been fighting myself to not get the flag die set now the fight is over I've just got to have it now, I think it's now gone to the top of my ever growing list. To be honest I would have bought it a while back but it's been out of stock at Daisy's where I have been going so have been accumulating other of your dies instead. I would never have thought of using is as a background. At this rate I'm either going to run out of space or go bankrupt lol. I don't even look any anyone else's dies yours win full stop each time. There is so much can be done with them and the quality of them is fantastic.

Wow! You are so amazing in coming up with ideas for your wonderful, and multi-useful dies. Using the Pierced Flag die set this way is truly inovative. I don't know what a divers helmet looks like close up, but I can see a riveted look to the flags with the piercings on them. And with the flags butted-up together, I can also see, if the flags were sponged in browns, a leather type look to this placement. I always need those ideas for cards for the men in my life.

Hi

If there are over a certain amount of posts then names are drawn out at random to receive some goodies donated by Creative Expressions. This is explained on the right hand side of the page on the web view (what you see if you look at the blog on a computer or laptop). You don't see this on a mobile unless you scroll to the bottom of the mobile page and tap "view web version". Hope that helps!

Very clever.
wonderful creation as usual.

Hi Sue

Very clever use of the flags. I can see how the piercing looks like rivets- especially if you look at the back of the tags. It's a great card.

After having my PA here Thursday, the mobile hairdresser Friday and my brother and PA here Saturday lunchtime to watch the football I kind of melted about 4pm yesterday. Been a floppy wreck most of today! My team lost in their play off game but no one is downhearted, no one expected us to even be close to the top 6 this year! So next season, to quote our manager, "we go again". Might make that my personal motto!

It's almost 9pm and I'm about ready for bed. Take care all of you. Wishing good things and hugs to you all,

T x

Hi Sue,
What a clever use of the banner die, but sorry Sue, I can't see the divers helmet but what I can see is a fabulous card. I like the simplicity of the background especially to use for those difficult "men's cards" and the black and gold has such an opulent look.

Congratulations to all the lucky winners.
Love and hugs

Hi Sue,
The Pierced Flag die makes a very interesting background. The piercing looks like rivets and gives a masculine effect.
Thank you for sharing.

Lovely design. The black is not for me (as usual) but I can see this in brown and gold. I can also see what you mean about the diver's helmet. Love the way you've used the flag die.
Congratulation to all the comment game winners.
Take care everyone.

Hi Sue & all Wilsonettes...
What a unique and wonderful way to use the Tag dies Sue, believe me when I say that I would never have thought for a moment to adapt the die to use in this way, so thank you for the wonderfully inspiring idea.
I would also like to congratulate the comment winners, how wonderfully surprised you must have felt seeing your names on the list.
Well I must dash folks as need to catch up on a few other gorgeous cards to make a comment on.
