Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello bloggers!  This was the first card that I made when I received the Lyra die set prototype!  I just wanted to see it  cut on the diagonal and in my head, that was how I was seeing it from conception.  I think it looks lovely that way, but I have also used it in many other ways too that you will see on the blog in the weeks to come.  I started with a piece of teal card and cut the Lyra die diagonally using one cutting edge with it.  On a piece of coconut white card, I stamped my sentiment in black in the lower corner.  I taped the two pieces together to create the background of the card.  Using the Open Petal Camellia set, I cut a bunch of different sizes and layered them up to create a floral element across the top of the card.  I cut several of the leaves from the set and tucked them around the flowers.  Using the Splendid Swirls, I cut a couple and added them into the top of the floral element to fill in a bit.  I paper pierced a white mat to frame the card and then added a thin teal card mat and a final white mat layer.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x 7 3/4" in size.  If you would like to be included in the drawing to win this card, please leave a comment on this post.  The winner will be drawn and announced on Saturday's blog post.  All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue
I fell in love with this die when I first saw it and having seen what can be achieved with it I'm more in love than ever. Of course today's gift is done in the most beautiful colour combination. I had never seen Teal until you brought it to our notice and now my card drawer always has a packet of it. So to say that I love today's gift is a little on the cool side when in fact it's on top of the tallest mountain. My Wednesday spot is dusted off and waiting as well as my fingers and toes crossed - well those that I can cross. Good Luck everyone.
Sandra - hope you had a good day along with your other two 'Graces' and that you're feeling a little better.
Muriel thinking of you today. Good luck with the surgery.
Norah - So you should be very pleased with yourself. Teaching someone another craft is a fantastic thing to do. Did you have to sit on your hands when teaching her - it's so tempting when you do the same craft not to say 'here let me show you' isn't it.

Well I eventually decided what my demo will be on Tuesday K&N so it's a cutting out day today with my Tens Machine attached - will look like a Robot lol.

To all in pain or suffering I hope your day gets better. To everyone take care and stay safe. It's a very very cold and windy morning here so please wrap up warm. See you tomorrow.

Good morning Sue and the fabulous Wilsonettes,
Sue this is my favourite out of the original Gemini set and the one that i go first to each time i want to go for that something different as i think it is because it is so bold and swirly showing off to being really different each time you use it. Todays card is the reason i knew i had chosen the Gemini collection and had it on order before i seen it in action, the card is so striking in the teal and white, showing itself off to it's best advantage. Love it Sue, thank you for today's most beautiful and stunning gift. I hope that you have a lovely day dear friend.
Lilian flower, sit with a drink and watch our Sue's video's(now no excitement at i must make that as that will just raise the blood pressure) or have a cutting day so that you can play around with your various dies and cuts to see what different things you can make up. Any way, i hope that you will take it easy and get that blood pressure down.
Sandie, enjoy your trip to London flower, i hope you have a great time away.
Muriel, sending you hugs to get well again soon as i know you are into the hospital today for that foot op, but remember no chasing the young doctors around the now, wait until it is better and then do it.
Well still trying to track down the energy and i need a Tommy Tippee cup to stop me from wearing my coffee because of the shaking hands that are shaking more than Elvis Presley's hips did. I am trying to cut out some dies but the hands upto the shoulders are just not cooperating so i have brought out the ebosser, which works when it feels like it i might add, to see if i can get some inspiration flowing. I am leaving my basket full of hugs for all that need one or could do with one, to take. They are a variety of different strengths, sizes and types to suit all,and for my blog friends who are not well enough to come on the now as well, girls you are missed but in your own time.
Love and crafty hugs
Norah (Glenochil)

Hi sue, I love the colour of this card and all your new die,s are fab, sue I find square matting and leairing so hard to do, I can never get it right, I always do 8 & 8 cards and need some big square die,s we all have A4 machine's but no A4 dies
I know there is some dies out there but there so expensive and crafter's don't have that sort of money. I hope maybe in the future you'll do some Basic bigger square dies,

We had a lovely catch up yesterday. More talking and laughing that crafting though. Mind you I'd bought Shortcake biscuits with chocolate chunks, and completely forgot about them. Muriel thinking of you today.
Sam - hope it's all going well at the hospital for you too. x
Pam - I've been meaning to ask for a few days now. How is Robbie getting on? Also how has the family been coping with the heavy snow around Boston? Hope everyone is well. How is your ankle Pam? Hope it is a lot stronger now. Sending hugs!
Love to all,
Myra xx

Hello Sue and all

Stunning card. I love everything about this card. I agree with you about the angle and I think it looks great with the darker colour. I'm fortunate to have all the elements you have used, so this is going to be one I copy. Thanks for sharing.

Best wishes

Hello Sue & ALL The Wilsonettes! Hope you are all well today & enjoying warm weather? It is not too warm here although the sun is shining, which makes everywhere (& everything!) brighter! I am only just starting to feel 'myself', after having had a nasty bout of flu (on top of having a operation!)! I hope no-one else has had this flu, as it really has knocked me for six! Well Sue, you really excelled yourself with the 'weekender'! I was glued to the telly MOST OF THE TIME, although I missed recording the programme when you made the butterfly (& I REALLY wanted that, for future reference!)! I hope you will be making a card with the butterfly, to go on your blog? Your card, today, looks SO fresh & clean & I LOVE the colour combination! I would love to receive a card like that for my Birthday, which is on Friday! Take care! Love, Mary Blight XXX

I saw this beautiful card on the C&C show on the weekend and loved it instantly. Using the die on the diagonal was a wonderful thought and will have to try it this way. Also thanks so much for showing on the show what the little circles were from the Splendid Swirls set. I had no idea what they were from looking at the die set. Now I know what to do with them when my die set arrives.
