Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hi guys!  Now that things are back to usual, it is another Wednesday card giveaway!  This card was the first demo that I did on the weekender shows.  I really liked the way it came out with the shadow effect.  I started by cutting two of the Scandinavian backgrounds, one in coconut white card an one in black card.  I added mounting foam between them to raise it a bit for dimension but you could just glue them together offsetting them to create the drop shadow effect.  I cut out the centre of the die with scissors so that I could recess the sentiment down a bit further. I stamped the sentiment on white card and centred it behind the cut out opening and glued it into place.  Next I cut a frame by using the outside die from the Oslo die set and the inside die from the Stockholm set.  I added mounting foam to the back and attached it over the sentiment area.  I cut a bunch of the smallest sizes of the Complete Camellia and formed them, glued a black pearl centre and arranged them around the sentiment (even a few on to the frame where I had gotten a smudge mark!)  I added my finishing mats and did the Cosmic Shimmer white PVA glue dots around the edge of the inside white mat.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/4" x 8 1/4" in size.  Leave a comment if you would like to be included in the drawing to win this one.  The winner will be announced on Saturday's blog post!  All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue beautiful card as always, think I will buy the scandanavian die as 2 of them make such a lovely background. You have made me interested in dies. Thanks for wishing my son Struan to get well soon on create and craft from my E - mail into the sow, it really cheered him up, he recovered now.x

Beautiful simplicity. You can't tell from the photos that there is a second background of card-stock in black, it only looks like a shadow. This really gives it some depth, I think. Love the little glue dots around the edge, looks like a bunch of little pearls.

Sue, such a beautiful card. I am catching up with all your shows last weekend. My internet was out over the weekend until yesterday. The 2 shows I have seen so far were excellent. Wish my smudges were in such a perfect position to add a tiny flower to cover it. One would never know. Thanks for sharing all your wonderful talents with us.

Hi Sue! You make the most beautiful cards and I thought that maybe you could help me in my decision. I am thinking of getting the teal Grand Calibur, but now Sizzix came out with their version of the wide platform machine. Have you tried either of these machines and can you recommend which machine would be better? Thank you for any help you can provide. Jane Crisci

Hi Sue and everyone!
Beautiful card Sue. I saw you making it on the show but I must say that close up it's even lovelier and those little flowers are so cute.

Janet- your little Lily-Mae (sweet name) will be so happy to receive such a nice gift that you made her.Any chance for a pic. anywhere ?
Norah- your knitting sound lovely. Rory must have looked so smart. Of course the baby need a hood or at least a little hat for those little ears , they are so sensitive in the beginning. I notice do that the younger generation are doing 'their way' when it come to things to do.
Alison-you lucky girl! enjoy your crafts and card .
Pam and Sandra and all who got a wow card ,you lucky buggers Tihi
If in pain-better tomorrow. can always dream.....
Take care and
Warm Hugs to my friends the Wilsonette's, Maria x

There are so many details I love on this card. Well 1st. I'll never be able to control the Cosmic glue to make uniform dots - but you always do. Brilliant pairing of dies to frame the sentiment, then the black pearls, also the placing of those dainty flowers. Love that background die by the way!

Good evening Sue,
What a lovely card for the Wednesday Giveaway, you are so generous. The shadow effect really looks effective, I must have a go at that. The camellia flowers are so pretty and very clever of you to use them on your smudge. Very honest of you to admit to it as well!!.

Norah, how amazing are those jumpers. Kirsten must be mad not to want one for the wee one. I'd make one anyway and put it on when you are babysitting.

Sandra, Pat and Mrs B, you will be known forevermore as the three Graces.!!!!

Love and hugs for all

Hope my Wilsonette friends are ok, sorry this isn't a long post , but I felt well enough to shower and have worn myself out well. Did feel better today- hence shower. There'sbeing careful so I'm ready for Saturday. Did treat myself to the last Austrian die I needed and a new striplet just before I came here. Retail therapy :-)

Hugs to you all, extra hugs if they're needed. Special hugs to those ill, injured, in any sort of pain or recovering xxx
