Double Framed Striplet

Hello there my crafty friends!  I have had a number of emails asking how I have done this card so I am glad it is finally having it's day on the blog!  Don't forget that many square or rectangle shaped dies can be used for making frames too!

Buy from Joanna Sheen

The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x  8 3/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue, pls accept apologies, I forgot to say thank you to all my craft buddies here who commented on Tilly.

She is back to normal ( heaven help me) after her close encounter of the freezing type. Hubby was in the dog house for using my snuggly but my comments about it just went straight over his head.

Both the girls now have a love/hate relationship with a bean bag cushion hubby uses to support his left side. They are fine scrabbling around on the normal cushions on the settee going around and around on them before plonking themselves down but when trying to do that on the beanbag all the beads rush up to the other end which then rises fast in the air and hits poochies in the face. I absolutely fall about laughing cuz they do this time and again. Poochies have decided that mum is just being mean and are sulking. I have to give them points on their sulking techniques cuz they do seem to have these down pat. Hubby of course is on the girls side ( how unusual) oh well, at least he is getting more time with them.

Lol and hugs lynne m & dreadfully dastardly devious doggie divas x x x

Hi Ladies,

forgot to say in my previous comment that this striplet cuts apart nicely to make a pretty free-flowing border - you can't get two borders from one cut though because you have to sacrifice some of the pattern on one side to get all the flowers/leaves you want on the side you've chosen but it's no trouble to cut a second one if you need to...

I'm new to this blogging lark, my first comment was on Tuesday.
I'm on holiday this week, so I've had time to look at all the beautiful cards.
On Tuesday I looked at the Fancy Nestie technique and decided to have a go with some of my dies - all much stroked but not actually used - I lacked confidence to use them! Believe or not, over the past two days I've made 14 (Christmas) cards, with (only) two "happy accidents". One where the die completely cut out everything when I embossed -probably due to the quality of card used; the second, I folded the "wrong way round" I ended up with an easel card!
Stephanie Cotterill, am I a "NEW Wilsonette" now? I also followed your instructions re bloglovin as on Tuesday I got here via Sue's instruction on the right. I'm new to this, and when I had to prove that I'm not a robot, I tried to type NO in the box!!! I got it in the end. I'm not sure about a Google Account, so for the moment I will stay Anonymous! By the way, today, this is my third attempt - the first disappeared when I thought I'd try Preview and was whisked off somewhere (now I scroll up and down to view my comments) - the second was when I tried to publish my comment and forgot to prove that I'm not a robot. I'm now copying my comments before I try anything!

So here goes, with fingers crossed, and a final copy!!!

Hi Sue

I adored this card when I first saw it, it would be perfect for many occasions and even perhaps with a different striplet, different colour card and buttons or twine for decoration on a guys card... oooh, might try that! I loved yesterday's card too but ran out of time to comment.

Wiltshiregirl- welcome to the friendliest blog ever! I did notice a new name and apologise for not welcoming you sooner but I've been a bit distracted this week. I hope you continue to comment and enjoy being a part of this big, blog family. I've gotton so much out of being a part of this blog, support, advice, friendship, and of course learning from the amazing Sue Wilson.

Muriel, I hope all is going well after your op, hugs xxx

Saba, I hope your sister recovers soon, thinking of you both xxx

Sorry I missed you all yesterday, we had to leave at tea time to get to Bury St Edmunds for The Levellers acoustic gig and showing of a film about the band before the music. The performance was as awesome as usual, impossible to sit still as the band play music that you have to dance to- well, my hands were dancing and I'm sure I gave Mr W ear ache with my singing! Bed day today as my back is very painful, had a fall a few weeks ago out of my chair, not wise with a back injury anyway! A car journey at the weekend irritated it and it seems to have got worse since. Will call the doctors in a few days if it doesn't settle back to it's usual level so until them I'll have to take it easy. Annoying as my dies arrived today, but they'll be waiting for me when I'm ready,. All the more time to browse Sue's back catalogue for ideas I say!

Have to phone my Dad in a bit to tell him our lunch meeting for tomorrow has changed venue to Casa WheelyBad as I'm not sure that bouncing along the neighbourhood pavements in my powerchair to the local gastro pub and back is what my body needs right now! Billy will be pleased to see his 'granddad' though and I do a mean cheese toastie so Dad won't go hungry.

Hugs, best wishes and happy crafting to Sue and all the Wilsonettes wherever you are in the world, extra hugs to those who need them,

T xxx

Thank you so much for this tutorial Sue. I have previously tried to make this card and although it turned out ok it was not as good as yours as I couldn't work out how to do the frame like you have done. Thanks again, I will give it another go now. x
