Peace And Love

Good morning all!  Just sneaking in another of the Christmas cards to remind you it's time to start making them as it will be upon us before we know it!  This one appeals to my sense of a more non traditional styling in the grey and white colour choice.  I started by embossing my white card with the Holiday Magic embossibility (my personal choice for a holiday embossing folder, I just love this one!)  Next I stamped my sentiment on some patterned paper.  I picked a grey tone on tone so the black archival ink would show up nicely.  I really love stamping over papers like this as they add so much interest without being too distracting (there is a close up below).  I cut the top of the paper on a freehand angle just to give it a bit of playfulness.  Next I selected two shades of grey and all the snowflake dies from the Snowflake Pendant and Create a Flake sets to use.  I wanted a random assortment of sizes and shapes.  I covered my grey card and some white card with a piece of our self adhesive sticky sheet and cut all the snowflakes.  Remember, do not emboss when using these adhesive sheets or the backing paper will split.  I peeled the backing paper off each one and dipped them in my clear micro beads, giving them a fun shimmery textural look.  Next, I layered them up and cascaded them across my cut edge and glued them into place.  For the centres of the snowflakes, I used the Cosmic Shimmer silver PVA glue to give a faux pearl look to them.
I added a spray of pearl swirls to the bottom of the card as an accent and pierced the edges to complete the piece.  Think how pretty this would be in golds too!  There's your Christmas cards sorted!  All for now, Sue x

Good morning Sue, I really like todays card, you did something similar with poinsettias on an angle across the bottom of a card once if I remember and the effect is quite special. Looking at all these christmas cards does remind me that I need to get a move on with mine, I'm so behind. Linda xxx

Good morning Sue, I'm one of your 'newer' followers on here though I've followed and recorded ever single show with you on C & C.
Your cards are so amazing and inspiring. I have the Holiday Christmas tree dies but don't have any snowflakes so I think I NEED to make another purchase. I also have the Holiday Magic embossing folders and I love the swirly one too.
I'm loving the snowflake card. I agree that the sentiment really stands out on the soft grey card and as always I love the pearly swirl. Not sure if you're still with your Mum, but hope you're all well and having a nice time,

Hi Sue, I think the grey & white you have shown work really well, but as so many have said, there are many colour themes that would work. I have the folder & snowflakes so can have a go. The sentiment is lovely. I also have the pointsettia flowers & know I've seen you do this style with those too. I'm a bit of a sad case I'm afraid & last night my other half caught me!!! I record all your shows, watch them a few times in case I've missed something & then pause each card shown to photograph before deleting the show & make space ;-). I'm never sure I'll see them again even on here, so like to keep a record. Once it's been on here I delete the tv screen version as your photos are close ups not waving in the air!!! I've been doing this method for years as I'm really visual being a graphic designer & can work out how something's been created very quickly. I then make my own creation, but find your designs truly inspire me. I have masses of dies now & really need a good way of storing them properly. Have magnetic sheets, but they are heavy & I should probably cut the sheets up too. I find the dies ping off at the moment & I don't want to loose any, so need a better solution. Do you use photo albums? Portfolios? You have more than myself & I know mine are taking over the house!!! Claire xxx
