Want Another Year?

Hello there bloggers!  Today is a real milestone for me and you!  I have been posting every day for the past year and you have been popping in to look every day too!  I made a conscious decision one year ago to post my cards each and every day without fail and I have been able to do that! No "I'm too tired" or "I have too much work to do" excuses!   I have enjoyed it immensely so I want to say a big thank you to all of you that have been with me all the way as well as those of you that have just recently discovered the blog.  One year ago I sat looking at a huge pile of cards that I had made and realised that nobody had really seen them for more than a few seconds on air during shows.  I thought, what a waste!  By allowing me to bring them to you through my blog, I have felt a real sense of purpose for my card making.
I thought that I would do a giveaway today as a sort of anniversary present.  If you leave me a comment today telling me what you have enjoyed most about my blog, I will draw a winner from among the names and give away a set of the Vintage Lace dies that I designed.   I am flying on Sunday to the States and I want to be sure that everyone that comments is in the drawing so I will do the drawing on Monday and then post the winner on Tuesday.  (I will post the comment game winners for the week tomorrow as usual though) How does that sound?

To  recap today's card for you, I started with the background which was milk coloured card embossed using the Dainty Dots A4 size embossibility folder.  I inked the edges with Antique Linen distress ink and matted it on taupe card.  I cut the largest size of Decorative Labels 8 in taupe card as a backdrop for my focal element.  Next I stamped my sentiment on milk card and cut it out using the next size down in the same set.  I went down to the remaining two sizes in the set and cut a frame which I mounted on foam pieces over my sentiment.  Using the Krinkly Kraft paper (twistwrap kraft paper as it is also called), I cut several flowers from the Jewelled Flowers and Flourish set and layered them up and put pearls in the centres.  I cut another bunch of the flowers from milk coloured card and layered them up as well.  I arranged them around my focal element for a real girlie card.  I added some of the swirls from that set as accents.  I pierced the edges of a double milk coloured mat and added some pearls to the corners to finish it off.  I hope you like it!  Don't forget to leave me a comment today to be in for a chance at the anniversary drawing.  What do you say, should we try to make it every day for another year!!!!  All for now, Sue x

Sue,
Wow a year of sending joy to lots of crafty friends. My cards have truly been transformed as a direct result of seeing your beautiful creations daily . You are such an inspiration to me and I look forward each day to checking out your magic. Besides the expensive ha of wanting what Sue has displayed, when I send cards back to the States the comments are, I should frame this card. Thanks Sue for making this choice to blog daily. Xxxx

congratulations on your Anniversary.
superb card as always.
I always feel my day has really started after gazing at your wonderful creations. Theres nothing like a Sue Wilson's card to brighten up a day. Apart from that you give us such fabulous inspiration too. To me it's my daily fix if you will excuse the expression.
My kindest regards to your family when you see them tomorrow.
May you have a very pleasant journey.
Have a wonderful crafty day.

Dear Sue, Congratulations on the milestone. It is a huge effort to post every single day; hard enough to put the pics on but you give a complete write up too.
What do I like most? It is never knowing what you are going to share next. The expectation is there that there will be a beautiful, original card every day but I never know if it is going to be a confection or decadent or a little bit grungy but I do know it is going to range from fab to awesome. There is no other blog I follow that makes me say "Oh My Goodness" or elicits ooohs and aaaahs or just takes my breath away.
Take care, enjoy your trip to the states, take good wishes from us to your family and come home soon.
Love, Vee xx
(I don't need to go in any draw as I have not been commenting so much recently as I once did owing to health issues but I do still open my email and see your cards. I just would not let your anniversary pass without comment.)

GM Sue - I think your blog is just fabulous - I started card making in Jan this year and discovered your blog about 6 months ago. For a week or two I just looked and then I plucked up the courage to comment - been hooked ever since! There's just so mchc variety, inspiration and tips - its truly wonderful. Please continue for another year with daily postings - or I might have to go into rehab. Wonder what's on Sue's blog today? is one of the first thoughts I have every morning. Thank you.

Hi Sue. Happy anniversary on your year old every day Blog. Since watching your shows and following your Blog I have become a Spellbinders groupie. Your cards are an inspiration for me, I have tried to replicate many and it has cost me a fortune but it has been worth it because of the enjoyment I get from making cards and the wonderful comments I receive from the recipients.

Enjoy your visit with your mom and don't work too hard over in Florida but do bring some wonderful creations back.

Good Morning Sue. Another beautiful card. If it's one thing I've learnt from looking at your blog everyday is that I don't have to use my dies as they are. I can always snip a bit here or turn them a different way and they look totally different. So thankyou for unleashing my imagination and here's to many more years.

Hi Sue. I look at your blog every morning although I don't always comment. Love the variety of cards that you share and aspire to make something one day that may be as good. Looking at the cards does however fuel my Spellbinders addiction - much to my family's disgust!!! Have a lovely time in the States, I am planning a hol there next year and am really excited about all the crafty stuff that I can sneak into my suitcase. Ju

Hi sue, fab idea of yours to post your cards for us bloggers to follow. I look forward each day to see what inspiration you have to offer and I love the colours in today's card. I like the explanation you give for us to follow, it is so easy. I have been making cards for a few years now but bought my GC about 6 months ago and use it for all my card making now. Have a great time with your mum, and come home safe.

Good Morning Sue,
Todays card again, is gorgeous, love the colours and the layout, another really beautiful card.
I was scrolling through your blog the other night, the pictures of the cards are just so beautiful, they just get better and better as each day comes. The write up of each one is so clear and understandable, you can easily re-create one if you have the dies.
You know how I feel about your blog and your beautiful cards, so looking forward to another year of fabulous inspiration and beautiful works of art.
Have a safe trip Sunday, enjoy your stay with Mum, six weeks will seem quick, when we have your blog to follow every day.
Wishing you a lovely time.

Sue such a beautiful, stunning card. Love the colours, the layers, the flowers, everything.

Wow a year of posting cards everyday, that is no mean feat! I haven't been with you the whole year but probably half of it now. I do look every single day without fail. You have inspired me so much, in fact you have cost me a small fortune lol

Since seeing you on C&C,due to local card shop friends telling me about you and your stunning cards, I have definitely geared a lot of my cards around Spellbinder Dies. I have bought so many but of course still have lots to get

I haven't ever exactly copied a card but used your cards to inspire me. Even though I don't have a favourite because there are too many one that means the most to me is the one with candles. You may remember me emailing a picture of it to you as it inspired me to make a congratulations card for my boss when he got his Knighthood at the beginning of the year. You let me know about the crown etc that Spellbinders do which I have bought and plan to use to make a outer cover for a folder to put all of his congratulation letters in for a keepsake for his future generations. Well to get a Knighthood isn't an every day occurance. I will send you a picture once I get around to doing it, probably Christmas as he is going to collect at the Palace in December so would like to include some pictures of the day.

Anyway, thank you for dedicating so much of your time in posting the blogs everyday, I can appreciate how much time it would take.

Look forward to future inspiration and as mentioned before would love to see some using the d-lites if at all possible

Love and hugs, Tracie xxxx

Thank you for giving us all so much pleasure over the last year. You have to carry on because otherwise clinics all over the country will have tidal wave of people with depression from withdrawal symptoms - your blog and my coffee are what I have to do first thing each morning!
What I love about your blog is the inspiration I get from your use of colour, texture and the way you combine your dies in 'out of the box' ways. Happy Anniversary, for your card posting blog, and congratulations on achieving your resolution to post a card every day. Thank you for the chance to win some of your lovely dies Sue, you have been an inspiration to me since I found your blog after a comment you made on C & C along time ago, I have popped in every day and left a comment on your card. You have given me some lovely ideas and now all my cards are a la Sue, I look forward everyday to see what you have created next that I can have a go at. It's much better to see a finished item and adapt that to suit what you have, than to try and work from a sketch, but's that just my own opinion. Good luck for the future postings I shall be coming along as usual. Thank you once again Sue. xxx

I see your inspiration every morning - the different ways of using all sorts of mediums - the use of the dies (not only the obvious but even little ways that when I see you use them I think -now why didn't I see that!! - I have trawled through markets looking for non crafting items to use on my cards which I would never have done. So FROM ME TO YOU SUE THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE LAST EIGHT MONTHS AND I CERTAINLY WILL BE WITH YOU FOR THE NEXT YEAR AND ONWARDS

Happy Anniversary, You should give yourself a big pat on the back for keeping to your resolution, especially with the busy life we all know you have. I just love your blog as it gives me a sense of anticipation every day when I log on, as to what colour or design your card will take. I also love it for all the hints and tips you are so generous to pass on to us all, and I know my own cards are more professional as a result. I never copy your cards but try to use your layouts in a different way or colour, and I watch you so much on TV and show my husband the cards you make each day that he now knows who you are! Because of you I don't have to tell him what present I would like for my birthday or Christmas as he knows very well I want the latest spellbinder's dies or a set of stamps you have used. Thank you so much for all your hard work!

Happy first anniversary Sue. This is a fab card and i love the colours and everything about it. I love following your blog as you give me so much inspiration, as you do to so many others. I try to check what card you've decided to show as soon as i get up for work. Even before i shower! It's sort of become a ritual for me and while i was in Turkey recently i'd check your blog from my phone! Admittedly i haven't liked all your completed cards but there are always some elements on them that i do like. Plus then, micro beads! These beads have become a must have for me in loads of different projects i've done. I'd love you to keep giving us the inspiration we need to use and adapt our spellbinders for many years to come. Congratulations Sue on your 1st Anniversary. Yes, let's go for another year or maybe more. I have certainly enjoyed your blog and the beautiful cards you have shared with us.I had been looking for a die machine and happened to see the launch on c&c of the Grand Calibur. By the time you were ready to demonstrate the first card, i was hooked, ordered it and have never looked back. It is almost never packed away, even my grandchildren love using it to make some shapes for art classes in school. Thank you so much. Enjoy your stay in USA and come back refreshed to show us more. Once again thank you for your inspiration. Safe Journey, cheryl

Hi Sue, yet another beautiful card, love the colours on this. What I like most about your blog, is the inspiration. We may not have all the dies, but the way you combine different ones, put the cards together, the colour combinations, and using patterned papers. Who could fail to find inspiration to try something. I often go back over previous posts for ideas if I am looking for something specific. I actually feel like something is missing from my day if for some reason I cannot check your daily post. Please keep going, you bring beauty and a smile to the day. Bx

Bravo for posting every day for a year and defo keep going for another year I would really miss it if you didn't - I love the inspiration you give us and it has definitely made me look at my spellbinder dies in a different way and given me the confidence to try different combinations - Thanks xx

Congratulations Sue! As a relatively new spellbinder I am amazed by your results and very thankful that you take the time to explain your process. I love your micro beads obsession and would join you if they are ever actually in stock anywhere!

Thank you for all your inspiration,

Rebekah

Of course we want another year please, your daily blog is so great

Today's card must go on my list of fav's - it is just my sort of card

Before I met you I never considered using a paper flower, now after having several of your flowers from Ally Pally, I rarely make a card without a flower

The composition and colour combo is wonderful

At present I am in the process of moving, and your blog takes some of the daily 'stress of it away'

Thank you again Sue

Hi Sue,
Congratulations on a wonderful year. How lovely to bring so much beauty and inspiration into so many lives. Like the others, I look forward to your daily posts. It's a special treat. The thing I like most is your reliability. Another year? Oh yes please! We know it takes time and planning but it's appreciated so, so much.
Today's card is wonderful. It's going to the top of my list of favourites - and there are a lot of favourites!
Have a safe journey and a lovely time with your family,
Sue xx

Your blog is one of the first things I check every day, and I'd like to say a big "thank you" for all the beautiful cards you showcase. I most enjoy the way you show different ways of using the dies, spreading their use and getting so much more out of them.

Please keep blogging - I for one would miss you very much!

Sue, thank you so much for a wonderful year of inspiration. Although I don't get the chance to leave comments as often as I would like, I do see your email each day and your cards are really fantastic. I look forward to 356 new cards in the coming year!!!

Hi Sue,
I have been following your blog for most of this year and what i really look forward to is the detailed explanation of how you put together each card. I may not have the exact dies or embossing folders but your creations give me a starting point. I started off making copies of cards you made but now I can add my own ideas and it gives me confidence knowing that my finished card is going to have a Sue Wilson flavour to it. What I would quite like to see though is some smaller cards as the larger cards are more expensive to post. I know I could down-scale but sometimes I am unsure if I have 'finished' my card or if I have added too much so it would be interesting to see what you come up with.

Thank you so much for giving up so much of your time to post each day. I am sure there have been some days when you truly have been too tired.

Have a good weekend. Look forward to your next show!

Sue X

Don't ever give up your blog! Not only do I read it every day but as I only found it about January this year I use your menu as a reference when I make a card I look to see 'what Sue has made for that occasion' and use it for inspiration. I have copied your cards and it has made me a better crafter because it has opened my eyes to new ideas. I look forward to my break at work when I can look at the days post and then I can dream my way though a day I might not enjoy with what I might make next. Thank you for all the pleasure you bring xx

I've ben following you since you first mentioned the blog on C & C and it the first place I visit every day. I love seeing your creations (especially your sneak peeks), but I also like to hear the family news you share with us- your trip to Paris with your daughter, the photos from the C & C cruise and CHA, your daughter's new arrival and how your mum is doing. Thanks for sharing your ideas and thanks also for sharing such personal information with us.
LONG MAY YOU CONTINUE!

I have been waiting in hope that you would post this particular card as I only got a glimpse of it on C & C and I just love it. It is such an elegant card and fitting for your anniversary. Thank you so much for your inspiration and YES if you can possibly manage it, do please continue your daily blog. You have given such inspiration to our crafting world.
Thank you and take care.

Absolutely love that you inspire me and get me off my bum and into my craft room. Sometimes you cost me money as I 'just have to have it'. Now I'm needing the dots folder in this card! Also love the colours you use, gets me out of my comfort zone :0)

I'VE BEEN FOLLOWING YOU FOR A FEW MONTHS SINCE SEEING YOU ON CREATE AND CRAFT AND DON'T HAVE ANY SPELLBINDERS AS I HAD JUST BOUGHT A CRICUT SO CANT JUSTIFY THE EXPENSE BUT LOVE TO SEE WHAT BEAUTIFUL CARDS YOU MAKE FROM PLAIN CARDSTOCK AND HOW YOU USE HANDMADE TRIMS SUCH AS FLOWERS RATHER THAN BOUGHT TRIMS. INSPIRATION TO US ALL, WISH I HAD SOME SPELLBINDERS TO TRY AND EMULATE YOUR LOOKS. NEED TO WIN THE LOTTERY! HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY.

I am all at sixes and sevens today - my grand calibur is rattling I think there is something loose inside, and my favourite die set is up for a lucky winner. Should I be worried or excited?? Keep posting Sue you make such wonderful cards and inspire us all. Liz

Hi Sue. Do I want another year of your blogs and demo's...Yes, yes, yes PLEASE. Your cards are inspirational, keeping me glued to your blog, and are also one of the few things that make me watch C&C, as I enjoy watching as well. This card is no exception, colour and design right up my street.
Thank you for all your help earlier this year, you are a true star.
Enjoy being at home for a while

Hi Sue, I love your blog I get so much inspiration from it. You use dies in so many ways I would never have thought of, and you are so kind to allow us to copy your designs. I would like to say a BIG BIG THANK YOU for taking the time to blog everyday.

Hi Sue
your card (as always) is beautiful, I am now going to have to ask Father Christmas for this set of dies.
You want to know what I enjoy most about your blog, WHERE do I start, I love the inspiration you give in bucket loads, I love that you encourage (and show in such great detail), how to use the dies in different ways, thus expanding the range I am able to use them for, this is great for me (and I'm sure many other's) who have to watch the pennies. Thank's to you showing us how to, I am now able to make a square?rectangle/other shape's larger/smaller.
I do hope you continue with your daily blog, it brighten's my day no end when I visit your blog, & very often it wake's my very lazy mojo up (which keeps disagreeing) lol.
Hope you have a lovely time in America, you will be missed on Create & Craft. I love your demo's & as much as the other's are very good none compare to your demoing skills.
hugs
Sandra (craftynan)
