Want Another Year?

Hello there bloggers!  Today is a real milestone for me and you!  I have been posting every day for the past year and you have been popping in to look every day too!  I made a conscious decision one year ago to post my cards each and every day without fail and I have been able to do that! No "I'm too tired" or "I have too much work to do" excuses!   I have enjoyed it immensely so I want to say a big thank you to all of you that have been with me all the way as well as those of you that have just recently discovered the blog.  One year ago I sat looking at a huge pile of cards that I had made and realised that nobody had really seen them for more than a few seconds on air during shows.  I thought, what a waste!  By allowing me to bring them to you through my blog, I have felt a real sense of purpose for my card making.
I thought that I would do a giveaway today as a sort of anniversary present.  If you leave me a comment today telling me what you have enjoyed most about my blog, I will draw a winner from among the names and give away a set of the Vintage Lace dies that I designed.   I am flying on Sunday to the States and I want to be sure that everyone that comments is in the drawing so I will do the drawing on Monday and then post the winner on Tuesday.  (I will post the comment game winners for the week tomorrow as usual though) How does that sound?

To  recap today's card for you, I started with the background which was milk coloured card embossed using the Dainty Dots A4 size embossibility folder.  I inked the edges with Antique Linen distress ink and matted it on taupe card.  I cut the largest size of Decorative Labels 8 in taupe card as a backdrop for my focal element.  Next I stamped my sentiment on milk card and cut it out using the next size down in the same set.  I went down to the remaining two sizes in the set and cut a frame which I mounted on foam pieces over my sentiment.  Using the Krinkly Kraft paper (twistwrap kraft paper as it is also called), I cut several flowers from the Jewelled Flowers and Flourish set and layered them up and put pearls in the centres.  I cut another bunch of the flowers from milk coloured card and layered them up as well.  I arranged them around my focal element for a real girlie card.  I added some of the swirls from that set as accents.  I pierced the edges of a double milk coloured mat and added some pearls to the corners to finish it off.  I hope you like it!  Don't forget to leave me a comment today to be in for a chance at the anniversary drawing.  What do you say, should we try to make it every day for another year!!!!  All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue
Happy Anniversary :D
I have enjoyed your daily blogg because it's like having a present everyday, seeing a different card.
I get so much inspiration from your daily blog, it's great to be able to see the cards you do in the live shows and ones that didn't get the oportunity to be seen. I see your demos and it helps me decide which dies are for me and which I wouldn't use...we all have different tastes.
So thank you for the daily treat :D

Hi Sue,
This is the most wonderful card yet! I had only recently seen the Jewelled Flowers and Flourish set on your Blog and had fallen in love with it. This another on my wish list for Christmas ( it's getting longer by the day 'lol') I have started my collection with some basic's A frame set, A label set, and a couple of embossibility folders, now I NEED some flowers. I have started printing your blog and making a folder that I can have on my craft desk next to me so I can follow each step. Spellbinders are excellent for people like myself who have dexterity problems who could never hope to cut out even simple shapes! so please carry on for many a year.

Hi Sue, Happy 1st Anniversary ... traditionally known as 'PAPER' I believe ... how appropriate for your lovely blog! I think it's great that you make time to post each day and keep us followers inpired. I love to see what you have done and a quick flash on the tv screen just isn't enough for your creations, and with my 'brain-fog' it's good to be able to refer back to your blog posts as often as I like. Keep up the good work and looking forward to seeing yet more of your ideas! Take care, Sue x

Hi Sue,
Congratulations on reaching the one year milestone and doing it in style with yet another exquisite card. I can't begin to thank you for the pleasure and inspiration I get from visiting your blog daily! You have shown us in detail how to get the most from our tools & somehow you see so many ways to use the dies which make them so much more versatile wow I could never get there without you! All of the dies, embossing folders, ribbon, card stock I purchase are influenced by you and your designs because I just love them all and have become totally addicted - no wonder they are called spellbinders, I'm certainly caught in a spell when I visit your blog and see your amazing creations. I watch and record all your shows because you are my favourite designer and I can't wait to see what you come up with next! Please please keep your blog coming it brightens my day and inspires me no end.

Well Sue, another year is definitely on the "cards" - dont know what I would do without your blog, please keep it going. It gives me pleasure, real inspiration and I love the cards - todays card is a stunner, love the colours, dies and those flowers OMG. Enjoy your trip to the States.

Rufus said...

You don't ask easy questions do you? Well first off, is the inspiration. While I have never copied a card directly I have gotten lots of ideas on how to look at my dies in a different light. Secondly I love all the differing styles that you create. Even with traveling back and forth there was a new card every single day. Amazing! And yes, please, may we please have another year! Even if you are rather dangerous to my wallet! Just as soon as I think, nope don't need that one, can live without that, then you show something fabulous using just that item, lol
Thanks,
R/

Hi Sue Happy Anniversary.

Today's card is gorgeous. I love the colours and the dies you've used, they are top of my wish list!

I don't comment every day but am a regular visitor to your blog and often have a browse through for inspiration. Thanks to your blog and create and craft visits I have learnt not to be afraid to try lots of different dies together and to think 'outside the box' to look for different uses for my dies.

Thank you for a year of fabulous inspiration.

Another amazingly beautitful card Sue.

I heard on C&C that your 1 year anniversary was coming up - you have certainly done really well to post each day. Myself, sadly I have fallen by the wayside with my blog and am so behind with it!!!!!

Look forward to another year of seeing your fabulous creations.

Hi Sue. Big thanks and congrats for a year of inspirational blogging! Most of all I value the consistancy - knowing that there will always be something (and it feels like someone!) there to enjoy and to learn from. No matter what time of the day or night it always cheers me to see what beautiful and varied creations I can aspire to. Here's to the next year! Looking forward to December already! Love Vicki x

You are an inspiration to many of us, and I know you have helped and inspired me greatly. You are a joy to watch on tv as you explain things so well and I just would love you to continue giving me inspiration and helping me with my card making. My friends and family love the cards I make and that is due to you as I never heard of spelbinders before I saw you on Create and Craft. Thank you again.Susan R Newcastle upon Tyne

Sue, I am commenting a day late. It was my birthday yesterday, and I was out and about having a lovely day, visiting family and friends, and doing some retail therapy, so I have only visited your blog today. But I do normally visit your blog every day, and I look forward to seeing what you have done, and to receiving much inspiration. I am so glad that you have decided to continue, as I would have really missed by daily visit. Hope you have a ovely time visiting your Mom.
Much love

Stunnung card Sue

I haven't caught all of your lovely cards over the year - so I'll make sure I go back and read all about those I've missed..

You really do inspire so many people - you are always willing to share beyond measure each card you create. It is clear that you create with meaning and look to achieve something that is pleasing to so many.

I know what it takes to post just once thing per week, but to post everyday is a real committment.

Thank you for all your inspiration and your demo's on create and craft. Have a good and safe time with your family.
