Peach and Grey Floral Oval

Hello my friends!  I don't think that I have ever posted a card in peach and grey before.  Eager to hear what you think, does it work?  I actually like grey with just about any other colour, yellow, yes, red, yes, lavender, yes, pink, yes, teal yes.  I could go on and on.  The choice was made at the time because that is all that I had handy.  It was late at night at my Mom's and I wanted to craft, so peach it was!  I started by embossing the background with the paisley embossibility folder.  My background is larger than the folder so I had to do it in two sections.  The pattern doesn't line up, but I knew I was using a topper that would cover the seam if it showed.  I think that is the best use of that type of folder.  Just plan your card layout to hide the seam and you won't be disappointed.  I mounted the grey embossed background so that a paler shade of peach was peeking out from behind it top and bottom.  I stamped my sentiment on white card.  To the side of the sentiment I stamped a floral swirl from the new Design Element stamp set using Tattered Rose distress ink.  I cut a frame out of peach card using the largest Floral Oval die with an oval die inside.  I mounted the sentiment so that it showed through the frame and attached it to my card.  I added a double bow out of white silky crush ribbon.  I cut two of the jewel fantasy pieces and added it to either side of the bow.  A big fancy black button and two black pearl stick pins finished it off quite nicely.  A couple more finishing touches like the black rhinestone swirl in the upper corner for balance and some piercing around the edge complete the card.  What do you think, are you warming to the grey and peach yet?  all for now, Sue x

Good Morning Sue,
Yes I like it, not a combinatiion I would have chosen, yes! I am warming to it. I think the fact that the grey background is embossed it helps lifts the whole thing.
Will give this a go and see how it looks in the flesh so to speak.....
Loving the bow.

Hello Sue, not yet sure about grey and peach but the card design is lovely. I too love the bow.

Morning, Sue. YES! The grey works with the peach. I, too, think of grey as a neutral that looks good with any color. The Floral Oval die is very elegant. Coupled with your beautiful bow, you've got another stunning card.

I like this and I just love this oval die here and it´s definitely gone to the top of my very long wishlist here now, that´s for sure. I love this.

Hi Sue, the jury is still out on this one, there is no real reason for grey and peach not to go together but somehow they don't, the seem to cancel each other out. The design however is classic and can be used with any colour combo, which makes it a great card. Best wishes Lesley x

The card is lovely, but I should have been tempted to add a darker shade of the peach or grey card too, something between the pale shades and the black of the embellishments. (I'm not suggesting an improvement for your card Sue, ('as if' as my children would have said)just a difference!)
Thank you, Sue

Good morning Sue, I love the design of the card and love the bow, sentiment, oval frame etc. I love the grey, black and white, I would love to see the peach replaced by a more striking colour eg red, bright blue, green etc. For me Im not a fan of peach, I struggle with oranges and yellows to by honest. Saying that since following you Ive used yellow with black and navy, so peach is my next quest, Im thinking peach and chocolate or peach and red maybe. Hi Sue. This is not a combination that appeals to me as I am not keen on orange ( or shades of). However, I love the card and I would use this combination if I knew the recipient of the card would like it, as it certainly works. (cor you don't half get big splinters in your bum sitting on the fence!!). Looking forward to tomorrow's post, as always. Ju

Hi Sue, love the colour combination. I agree with you, grey is as easy as black when it comes to teaming up with otehr colours.
A winning combination and great layout.

The colours work for me I think the card is lovely. I am a big fan of grey in clothes and feel it goes well with most pastel colours. Looking forward to hearing all about the cruise!!!

I think it's a great combination...Love the floral frame, about to play with mine which arrived this weekend. Grey is something I don't tend to use but might just give it a go, works well.

Hi Sue,
I will be honest at first glance I thought 'oh not so sure', then the closer I looked the more I loved it. I have only one little issue, but not even sure if it is an issue, could just be my eyes:- the white organza - I'm wondering if it's too much a stark white against the rest. Or am I just being picky....I am aren't I?! Oh just ignore me, what do I know anyway, I threw a completed card in the bin the other day. Tore it to shreds actually, all because I didn't think I'd matched the colours properly....lol!!
All the best Linda x

Hi Sue My daughter wore peach and grey for her daughters wedding and she looked stunning as does your card.
Thanks once again

Hi, like this card a lot and with a change of colour to something a little brighter it would be fab. Must order those florral ovals, they're great. Thanks. Hil xo

Hi Sue, I've had a look at your card & yup! The peach, grey, black & the white bow really do go well together. I don't think there's many colours that don't go with grey, but it seems to be a colour not many people use much. It's been nice to see it. A nice change from the "norm!" love Karen xx
