Home Sweet Home

Happy Sunday morning!  You are going to like today's post because I am finally getting caught up on the comment game winners!  I just want to say thank you for all your comments and emails wishing me well.  I must confess that I am doing  better, but still not back to where I would like to be.  It has been very frustrating to feel so tired, congested and dizzy for the past few weeks, it has really put me off my game!  I haven't been very good keeping up with emails so I hope you will forgive me.  I will get to the long list of winners at the end of the post, but for now a quick rundown of today's card for you.  I started with a piece of decorative kraft card as my background.  I stamped my sentiment in the corner and I distressed the edges with my scissors to give it a real shabby chic look.  I cut a strip of harlequin kraft paper and adhered a strip of sticky adhesive paper to it.  I peeled off the backing side and put the sticky side down in my clear micro beads to coat it.  I wrapped some Bakers twine around it several times and tied a bow, topped with a tiny satin flower out of my stash.  I attached the strip to my background, then matted the entire piece on black card.  I cut three of the houses from the Home Sweet Home die set after I stamped them all with "hello".  I cut out three roofs for them out of coordinating decorative papers and attached a small button to the chimneys of each.  I used the paisley embossibility folder to give texture to all the houses before mounting them on my card.  I slightly overlapped my houses in a three piece cluster and added three buttons in the corner to finish my card.  Very different from my usual type of card, but I am trying to show a wide variety so there is something for everyone's tastes.

Right!! back to the card......... I like it, not your usual but a idea that will be very useful. Those colours for a man but for a couple moving house, I would do it with brighter colours but that`s me.

Agree with some of the other comments, would do brighter for house moving, is suitable for the male species though. Hope you get well soon and fully recovered to get back to rainy UK, mind you, If I was you and it's brighter weather in Florida I'd stay there! Although having said that we need you back here doing all your inspirational demos, when are you next on TV? Gosh this is totally selfish on my part, you need to get 100% fit, but we do miss you! Smashing colours and not symmetrical. Brill job. Haven't done one of the aged cards,(rough edges) just never seems to be enough time to do it all. Good way to use up those bits of matching papers/card this. Always love that as scrap bin soon fills up. Just thought the hounds tooth embossing folder would be a really fantastic roof tile on this project hehe .

Hi Sue,
How did you know my Home Sweet Home dies arrived in the post yesterday?!! Was so suprised when I saw this card! Can't wait to try.
Am both disappointed that it won't be you doing the Spellbinders POTD on Tuesday (I spotted looking ahead in the Ideal World/C&C schedules) and relieved that you haven't got to make another long haul flight so soon. You are missed very much but your health is more important and right now being there with your Mum, getting some TLC and as much rest as you possibly can (given that you're not normally the kind that can sit about doing very little!) will be the best for you.
Hopefully you'll be buzzing around at full speed again before long.
Congrats to all the winners - phew, what a long list this time!

Congratulations to all the winners. That's quite a list. I know I say this a lot, but THIS ONE IS MY FAVORITE! ;-) There is not a single thing about this card that doesn't appeal to me. It's got it all. I read a lot of comments about this being good for a male card. I'm not male and would love to receive this card and wouldn't think twice about making it for a female. As they also say, "that's just me." Tee hee! Glad you're improving steadily and surely. You'll get there. Enjoy your forced rest; it may be awhile before you have a good excuse again.
