A Team Effort

Hi blog friends!  I smile every time I look at this card because it was a joint effort between Sam Poole and myself last summer.  Bless her,  I was a bit behind schedule getting my samples made and Sam pitched in to lend me a hand.  The stamp used here was designed by Sam in her Timeless Jopuney stamp set so who better to use it in a lovely card design.  Truth be told, she did far more than I did, but I have never posted it on my blog and I really like the finished card.  Sam was responsible for the stamping the Parisian bicycle on Labels 18.  She inked it while in the die with some Antique Linen distress ink.  The die cut background with the dictionary page showing through the Fleur De Lis square negative piece was her idea too.  I love her layout for this one.    I added the wild assortment of buttons in neutral colours on the side and the ruching of the American seam binding, the small bow and the crystal pins.  This is one of those cards that doesn't have a sentiment stamped on it and could be used for pretty much anything you like or even any recipient.  If your taste runs to the vintage look cards, this should be right up your alley and it is quick and easy too!  All for now, Sue x

This is definitely right up my alley, it´s simply stunning. I love the way you ruffelled the ribbon and the dictionarypage is really cool, and what a great way to use some torn pages from old books too. It actually just gave me another awesome idea, I have to try out now, so thanks sooo much for that.

Hi Sue, Love this card, especially the tumbling buttons. Crafting in pairs could be a great way of getting out of a crafting rut & expanding my repertoire. Usually if I craft with someone I craft alongside them. Will have to give this a go. With Love & Light Theresa. H

A great team effort, what a result! Definitely two minds that think alike. Would love to do this one as I want to try some ruching. Can I add something? I've already borrowed the dictionary idea from you but while looking at this card I suddenly thought of my out of date map in the car. Better to buy a new one first (!) but it would make great backgrounds torn & inked - it's already quite distressed! Sue x

Love this! My son only uses pedal power so I'm always interested in 'bike' designs. Even with the ruffled seam binding it still looks quite manly though if I were to make it for him I'd probably leave that off - the hounds-tooth backing is fab too.

Hi Sue

just a wonderful creation again. Brill team effort hope u signed her up for a contract? LOL. I see the hound tooth pattern crept in. Love it. Black and white always good to have. Would not bother me if i just made black and white cards for ever. Be easier to arrange my stash. a bit of cream gold and brown might creep in . Second favorite.

All i can say is i;m on my bike to the craft room. Bye

Hi Sue, I hope you and all the blog friends are having a good weekend.
Todays card is another stunner and I think you and Sam, compliment each other perfectly.
Did you know that the 'Pushbike Song' - ('Riding along on my pushbike honey, when I noticed you....
You looked so pretty as you were singing this so.o.ong..')
was written by The Mixtures. As I was singing it, I thought it quite apt really, as your card was made by a mixture of talents. Lame? well it may be but I thought it good analogy at the time :(
I would love to see more cards where you have collaborated with another crafter.
I hope you are well and planning some wonderful demos for your shows later this month.
Best wishes and hugs Linda x
