Good morning blog friends! Be prepared for a good giggle at today's post. I have loaded four cards for you to see today, mostly because they are all very similar and a bit of fun. The sentiments are the best! I shouldn't laugh at them as they are hitting really close to home these days! My 55th is looming only a few months away now and I will officially get my senior citizens discount here in Florida, (maybe even in the UK, I'll have to check on that!) but if you can't laugh at yourself.... then everyone else will do it for you, huh! LOL These characters are part of our Murray and Ethel line of rubber stamps. This first card is Ethel herself! Don't you just love that mug (and those hairy legs, really Ethel!) I feel her pain where that sentiment is concerned, though! The ladies in the last three cards haven't been officially named yet. Maybe you could help me out there and give me some ideas. What do they look like?
I made all of these cards last year when I was here and since my supplies were a bit limited, I paper pieced all their outfits with the matching background papers rather than trying to colour them with the six coloured pencils and handful of distress inks I had at the time. They are really good fun if your recipient has a good sense of humour. I didn't get any cards made with Murray, but he is a gem too. I won't go into any detail on the cards as they are all fairly similar in style. If you have any questions about them, feel free to email me. I hope you have a good chuckle at them and they start your day off right! All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue they certainly brought a smile to my face this morning. lol

I just love the Ethel and Murry stamps and have made a few cards using them but not quite as elegant as yours, they are brill. You may be glad to know that you wont be classed as a senior citizen until you are at least 60 and even then you may have to wait another year or two to get that status. So Sue you are just getting middle aged He He. x
Hi Sue
What fantastic stamps and cards, they made me smile. I do agree with most of the sentiments though (scary) lol.
Have a wonderful sunday.
Sue
Hi sue just what I needed this morning a good laugh the cards are great and so true hope you are enjoying you stay in the USA
Good morning Sue, what great stamps and you always manage to make your cards so elegant! They say that laughter is the best medicine so bring on Ethel, Murray and friends - lets have more of them.
Blessings
Sonia - St Helens
They are great sue, and the sayings on the stamp sheets are hilarious. As for other names, what about Marge, Pearl, Maude or Mable? Enjoy the rest of your stay in the US. Edwina
Good Morning Sue, were you looking at me when you did the first card??? Now that the laughing has died down a bit - yes! even this early.............LOL
I can tell you I just LOVE these cards they are real fun.
Don`t worry you have a while to go, you have to be at least 60 here in UK before you qualify for any discount for age. Remember once you reach that you become a "Recycled Teenager" and the fun starts!!!!
Have a great day
Patricia xx
Ha-ha, Sue. these are very nice. Love color combo!
Hi Sue. A lovely way to bring a smile to my face on a cold Sunday morning. These are such fun.

Speaking as someone who has already reached the senior status I just laughed my socks off at these images. Well done in keeping some dignity the cards are true Sue fashion = brilliant.
I really love these cards Sue, I don't think you can call yourself senior in the UK even though I will be 60 this year I won't be getting my pension until I reach 62 and 8 months :) they did make me laugh and I can well relate to the weight think :) x
The colours in the last one are so good together, I think the second lady could be a Deidre as we have a similar looking lady in one of ours soaps with that name! I never think to put stamps of this kind with all the docorations so you have inspired me yet again! x
Your cards looks so great and the images are so funny.
Hugs, Uta
Hi Sue,
Just what was was needed on a cold January morning something to make us all smile. Love them all. Some of the sentiments ring home too.

hi I've seen the ethel and murray stamps before and they certainly make me chuckle. The cards you have made with ethel are great and give them an elegant look. Glad you are having a good break and hope to see you back on C&C soon.
Morning Sue, love these cards, the sentiments are great and as my friends are all over 60, would be ideal for them. How about Agnes for the one with the longer hair (reminds me of my sister and that is her name) and Doris and Audrey for the others? I am afraid you will be nearer 65 in the UK before you are a senior citizen because of the change in rules. I will be 61 in May but don't qualify for senior citizen statis until July! Have a good day. love Jean x
Hi Sue, the cards are very funny but I think I would have to choose carefully who to send them too!
Chris
Good morning Sue
Well thats made me laugh.
Great cards the sentiments are funny .Names ENID MABEL RITA.
Sue you don't look your age. your mind and heart is young so don't worry about it.
Enjoy the rest of your break.
joyce e
Hi Sue, well your cards really have brought some good comments today, and given all of us a good laugh. On this drab Sunday morning. I am just passed the 60 mark, but I still feel very young at heart. Even if my bones tell me different.
Lots of love. Jenny L
Great Fun Cards. Hope you are enjoying CHA. Love, Julia xxx
Fabulous cards that gave me a giggle. The only thing I know of that you can get in the UK at 55 is a railcard for discounted rail travel. Hope you are having a wonderful time in the US!
Just love them all, made me smile this morning!
funny sentiments but some of my friends would not laugh hehehe angxxx
HA ha ha ha ha Thank you soo much for a really good laugh here Sue. These really made my day start good today.
I don´t know exactly about the rules in UK, but have heard they´re dragging that age longer too now. Here we´ve just had it dragged once again, so we now has to be 69 before we can be considdered a senior. Just 2 years ago it was 60 then it was 65 and now they´ve just raised it again to 69, so when it´s my turn, it´s probably all gone LOL. (I´m about your age too.)
Morning Sue, these cards have certainly made me laugh this morning, in fact my sides are still hurting as i write.
I think the paper piercing was inspired as you had limited resources.
Edith, Madge, Murtle or Edwina spring to mind for names.
TFS and the laughs
Hugs

Great colour combos Sue!
Ah, these are lovely Sue, I really like the sense of humour and can immediately think of people to send these to. Will have to check out the stamps.
I think the second one is a MAvis, third one Edwina and fourth one is definitely a Geraldine. They have really cheered me up, many thanks.
Vicki
Hi Sue, what great cards, the sentiments are so true. Not quite ready for my pension yet but can relate to Ethel. Must get my Ethel & Murray stamps out of storage for a play, however, not the same as yours. Where did you get your stamps?. LOL Lynne M

Hi Sue
Love the sentiments on these cards-how true!
Eileen x
These cards have given me a real giggle today. I have not really liked these stamps before but your ideas have changed my mind. Sorry but you will not quality for senior status for a good few years yet!!
What a cheerful start to the day. Love them all, specially the 'Twinkle ...', such panache, (to learn to skate is on my bucket list). Have mastered piercing but now have to get to grips with piecing because it looks so effective; you do keep me busy Sue.
Fun stamps. I think the second card is my favourite
Hi Sue, as I am 'a lady of a certain age' sixty something, I can relate to these sentiments! I am just getting over having the flu for the last week, so a laugh was just what I needed this morning! Elegant humerous cards! How do you do it Sue?!! Name suggestions, Doris, Cynthia and Pauline. Hugs, Carol S.xx

A completely different twist to your usual style, I'm not usually into stamped humorous cards but these are fab, the captions are great, I wonder if I could send one without offending anyone...mmm. Dawn x

Hello Sue, These cards really cheered me up on a cold Sunday morning, my sides ache with laughing, I can relate to the sentiments, my mind tells me I am twenty something but my body tells me I am sixty something. Love the colours and you have given them an elegance. How about BETTY, ELSIE & DORREN for names. You will not be a senior here for a while, they keep moving the goal posts. Enjoy your time in the US.

Hi Sue,
You have certainly cheered up my Sunday with these. I have a few "special age" cards to do this year for friends and you have given some great ideas with these.
Jean
Oh Sue, thank you, I just love the Murray and Ethel collections. This is right up my street, I love them all to bits.
Thanks.
I think that the sentiments are funny and I like what you have done with them but I am afraid that I just do not like the pictures on the stamps.
Just love Ethel and her friends - Great to see how you have designed the cards using their images - love them!
Geraldine
Hi Sue, I bought Ethel & Friends at Ally Pally in September last & last week made some cards with them, so it was great to see your take on them which is lovely. Thanks Sue, Ann W
Hi Sue
Lol that brightened a dull day, thank you :D
I love the stamps, how about Bertha for the one with leaks!
Lovely cards, shows how multi purpose the spellbinders are :D
Sue H. xx
Great cards Sue the second sentiment really appeals to me, love them all.
Oh my, I love these ladies, the sentiments are great too, they instantly make me think of my mom, don't tell her I said that lol.
You can turn your hand to so many different card types, I am so envious.
Take care.
Love and hugs,

Hi Sue, lovely colours and layouts, this is a great way to showcase a stamped image, I figure you could use any stamped image and it would work, thanks for sharing Helen O xxx
I have a sense of humour but I realty don't like the stamps. Love the lay outs and colours looks like I am the only one that don't like them.
Jane xx

Oh my goodness, these are too funny. Thanks for sharing the laugh.
Hi Sue,
Thankyou ever so much for a blooming good laugh on such a miserable day up here in newcastle.
The cards are great too.
Carolx
Wow - thankyou SO much for these. I bought lots of the Ethel and friends stamps a few years ago, but hardky used them even though they are fab - so having seen them used in this way has just given me a great idea for a retirement card for my sister. You are MAGIC Sue.
they are so funny. i love love them. 2nd lady def looks like a Myrtle. thanks fo great laugh. marieq
Hi Sue,
A great selection of humerous cards, you can definitley name the second one after my mum, Pam, it is just like her.
Best Wishes
Happy2craft
great cards and fun
Hi Sue, I just love these stamps. I bought some at Ally Pally a couple of years ago and people just love them - more please!!!
LOL JanN
Well they certainly brightened my day! I am now 61 and I can get reduced rate at the cinema and a Senior Rail Card, sometimes I don't know if its worth the humiliation of owning up to your age to save a bob or two!!
You really made my day with these cards Sue, unfortunately the sentiments are too much like the truth and I can relate to them. You will have to wait until you are 60 in the Uk to get anything, and not much then, so enjoy just being mature and keep doing what you do so very well,
Rosemariexx
Sue
As someone who has just reached severe maturity I can honestly say that Ethel has brought a large smile to my face. Something that is normally difficult to do on a cold winter's morn.
I've not bought these stamps but now I'm afraid I must, if only to bring an equally wide smile to the faces of my equally mature friends.
Thanks for sharing Sue.
Hugs

Hi Sue, wow I'm late leaving a comment today! As usual great cards, but (and there had to be one!) I think I'm the only one on here who isn't a fan of these stamps...I used one last year because it suited a commission I had, but at the time, whilst yes, I raised a little smile, that was it..maybe not the best time to comment after spending time with my very elderly aunt in a nursing home today and feeling very sad :( hugs, Carole Z xx
Haha, love them Sue. xx
Great cards Sue they are such fun and always make me smile, the second card the lady looked like an "Edna".
Maggie H
Hi Sue, yet another great card. How about Nora, Gladys and Brenda. Hope you are having fun in the US. Come back soon and come back safe. Annette x
have used Ethel a lot, will be looking out for the new ladies! How about Doris, Peggy and Sibyl for names?
Great batch of cards, Sue and I know what you mean about the 'age' issue hitting home! haha
The images are not really my cup of tea but I love the sentiments and the actual colours and layouts of the cards xx
Really love the cards love those stamps and what you have done with them, hate to tell you but you have about another 8 years until you become a senior citizen here, I wish I had looked as good as you at nearly 55. Hugs Bee
I bought these at Ally Pally - they are great stamps
Trust your well Sue

Fab fun cards, love Murray and Ethel. Hope you take lots of photos of CHA to let us see all the new goodies coming out this year!!!
Hi Sue,
Wow these are different; so retro for you and I love it.
I saw these names to the ladies in your delightfully funny cards (in corresponding order) Doris, Gwen and Marge(Margery). I think the girls have come up with some fab names, its been great fun reading them all.
Hope all going well at CHA.
Linda
Hilarious Sue, one of them definately has to be a Maude! and maybe a Lil !
Great colour combos too.
Thanks for the smile.
Hugs
Sandra
You know how awful my humour is so you already know that these stamps are 'right up my street' and echo many of my sentiments. Seems you and I will be celebrating 55 together!!! Now there's a thought.......x
oh Sue i just love these i have one of the first sets and they are so fun names well i think the second lady looks like a Doreen or Doris lol thanks for sharing they put a smile on my face xx
Hi Sue and blog friends - hope you had a good weekend. These are so sweet Sue - really cheered me up and you married them well with the spellbinders. Don't worry about your years Sue - I think you must have found the elixir and you are keeping it secret cos you look absolutely fabulous.
lots of love lilygee xxx
Wow, these cards are so much fun! I love all the paper choices you chose for each of the cards too! They are all wonderful!

Hi Sue, great cards and I love the sentiments! I could see the ladies as Madge, Lois & Lil - but now I've read the other suggestions I like a lot of them too. I've got a bus pass, a senior rail card, and I can get into the craft shows a bit cheaper too, but what I would REALLY like is a Spellbinders Senior Discount !!! I would use it such a lot too! Sue x
Great cards Sue
Great cards Sue
These are such fun! my wonderful partner is going to be celebrating his 50th Birthday on Saturday and every day I keep telling him it is his last sunday/monday etc at being 49. Back to the cards, like I said, such fun cards, you should do more like this!
Brilliant .... I am still smiling
Great cards, lovely colours,
Gwenda
As always lovely cards, nice to see some stamped images for inspiration oooh and I have some of the early ones of these stamps yay x
What fun!! It's good to laugh - and how true are the quotes, it could be about me ha ha. Anyway I think the stamps are super cool and so appropriate for my 'young' (cough cough) friends. Think the everything dries or leaks lady looks like my old aunty Dora (Doreen) who used to shock people with her dry sense of humour and shame us with her comments and quotes - Happy memories ha ha ha. Thanks for the trip down memory lane too!
Eileen (Edinburgh)
Love the sentiments with these stamps Sue, perhaps because I recognise the symptoms!!

I wish to show some thanks to you just for bailing me out of such a circumstance. Right after exploring through the online world and obtaining tricks that were not helpful, I figured my life was gone. Being alive without the solutions to the issues you've resolved as a result of the short article is a crucial case, and the kind which could have badly affected my career if I hadn't come across your web page. Your actual training and kindness in handling all areas was important. I am not sure what I would have done if I hadn't come upon such a step like this. It's possible to now relish my future. Thank you so much for the high quality and result oriented help. I will not be reluctant to endorse your web blog to anybody who should receive guidelines on this subject.
