Need A Little Help Please

I am back from my holiday in Florida.  I had a great time seeing my parents and spending some time relaxing.  My folks look great, even better, in fact, than the last time I saw them in July.  My Dad is 89 and my Mom is 86 and they are both sharp as a tack.  I only hope to age as gracefully!
Upon my return, it suddenly struck me that we only have a few weeks until Christmas!  Where has the time gone so quickly?!  I had made a few of these Christmas cards before I left for a magazine submission.  While I was going for a more traditional style, my partner thinks that they look old-fashioned.    I want your honest opinions.  I was definitely in a pointsettia mode as I made these, but there are a few snowmen and a Santa Claus too.  Have a look and let me know what you think, okay?  All for now, Sue x

well i must admit i love each and every one of your cards and i love how you have achieved the rich colours and i don't think they are old fashioned at all. Traditional Yes! the second one does have a vintage feel to it but its totally great and one of my favourites. remember vintage is in so if this is the case what exactly is old fashioned. your cards are truly beautiful and my faves are the second one and the santa one..wish i was receiving a beautiful hand crafted card like this all i get is those cheapo shop made ones lol
well that's my two penneth worth lol

Glad to hear that you had a lovely break with your parents. I think all your cards are lovely. I particularly like the cards with both types of snowmen, although the rest are also great - lovely colour combinations. I also have the snowman stamps and am having a great time making a selection of cards for family and friends. Best wishes.

Fantastic cards yes they are traditional but I wouldn't have said old fashioned. I love the Santa and snowman but I also particularly like the first Pointsettia card

Sounds like you had a wonderful time - all look wonderful but i`m a traditional person at Christmas and adore the poinsettias for this - bough one for my Granny every year as she loved them so they have a strong place in my heart
Love red , green and gold for Christmas too

Not at all old-fashioned - some of them are vintagey in a modern sort of way ( does that make sense LOL!) but they are certainly very traditional colours - where DO you get all your ideas from?!! Gorgeous cards:) x

Glad your parents are in perky spirit and that you enjoyed your break. I'm not exactly sure what old fashioned means in this sense? Is it that the techniques are too basic or the style too simple?? Whatever he means I think they are all lovely but don't all fit into any one category. The first snowman one looks traditional with a modern twist as does the triple poinsetta, the santa card has a vintage feel to it and the others could maybe considered old fashioned technique-wise. Nevertheless they are all lovely.

I don't know what was meant by old fashioned either but I think they are all terrific and really love them all but particularly the poinsettias.
