You Are A Great Friend

Hi bloggers!  I started today's card by creating a Caught In Crystal background.  You can use a number of different products for this technique and usually I use Pixie Powders, but I decided to try something different.  I used Pearl Tints this time and randonly applied them to the acetate.  I used Chateau Rose and Blue Diamond Pearl Tints.  I used my finger to spread them to cover the acetate then I scrunched up white tissue paper and covered it then tamped it down (a light spritzing of water helps too) and set it aside to dry overnight.  I trimmed the acetate once it was dry and I used the Twill Weave embossing folder to emboss the background.  I cut the Buttercup Floral Panel die three times in white  and I glued them horizontally side by side, aalternating their direction.  I cut the panels again in pink card and nipped the flowers out and glued them onto the white panels.  I added clear micro beads to the flower centres.  I used the You Are A Great Friend as the sentiment.  The card was completed with white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/2"  x  7"  in size.  All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, what a wonderful creation, the colours in the background are so beautiful, I didn't know you could add the stuff to acetate and tissue on top and let it dry and then emboss it, I might have a go at that.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Hello Sue, a very pretty card. Like June, I didn't realise you could emboss a piece of acetate that has been used for the caught in crystal technique. I will have to try this. Thank you for sharing this

Hi Sue and everyone, this is just beautiful, I love the background and the colours so much. Did I get it right that you embossed the acetate background, this is something ive never tried. The flowers are the perfect accompaniment to this background.
Anyway enough waffle on to the next one.
Hugs to all Donna xx

What a beauty! Love your choice of colors, so feminine and delicate. I would never have guessed that the background was acetate because I haver never tried embossing acetate. I will definitely give it a go. Thanks for sharing, Sue.

Hugs from Toronto to you all.
Stay safe and healthy.
