Festive Wishes

Hello bloggers!  Think pale blue, white and antique gold for today's card, not very traditional, but I just love it!  I started by cutting the Deco Snowflake out die in white and only cutting it partially.  I lined up the die again to extend it to make a larger background piece.  I cut the centre section using the die as it is and cut it in white.  The smaller top section was created by cutting the sie and making it smaller (I used the shorter side of the die as the longer side of the finished piece.  I stacked them all with foam and added them to a piece of Arctic blue card.  I cut the very centre of the Deco Snowflake die in white and added a blue backing to it and added it to the centre of the card.  The Festive Wishes was cut in Antique gold card and a gold mirror card shadow was added, then glued to the centre.  Using the Classic Poinsettia die, I made three flowers and added them around the sentiment.  Evergreen Branches cut in white were added as accents.  The card was completed with white, gold and arctic blue mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7"  x  9" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue, a really lovely card today, it shows how versatile the dies are, that you can either reduce or increase the size. Take care and stay safe everyone. Bx

Hi Sue you're starting a new week with a beauty. There's to many reasons to put down why I love your work and what you stand for but one is that you try and introduce different colour schemes that we for some reason haven't even thought of ( maybe some have the skill of matching) but this colour scheme is just delicious, if its not traditional enough then the design lends itself to the red green and gold, but whatever the choice I love it.
Covid is hitting hard again round the world, we've lost enough friends from illnesses here and we still miss their names and comments every day so please - STAY SAFE KEEP CARING AND VIGILANT xxx ❤

Hi Sue. Such a pretty card today, thank you for explaining how you made all the different sizes of frame. I wouldn't normally use gold with blue but I think it works rather well.

Hello Sue
I still struggle to change the original size of dies but I keep trying. This card is lovely and I love the colours. As for not being traditional I don't think this Christmas will be the same as usual so why not try something different. Take care everyone x

Hi Sue
There’s nothing wrong with introducing an unusual colour mix as it gets us all thinking but I’m in the minority when I say it’s just not for me

Love and hugs to everyone

Hi Sue, I like this non-traditional card a lot. I have the 'Festive Wishes' die, it cuts beautifully and snips apart very easily. My favourite poinsettias look beautiful in gold, I like making them in lots of different colours and paper qualities and they always look great.

Hi Sue,
Christmas cards don't always have to be in traditional colours. Whilst I do like them, it's also lovely to see them in such restful colours as these. Blue gives a more 'frosty'look rather than 'a snowy' feel which is always a winner in my book.
Great that you can extend these versatile dies.
Beautiful!

Hello, I am trying to catch up. I had a touch week and a half. To work from home is not easy but working in the office is a real challenge now but going back to today's card... I love it.
The Arctic blue is so calming and working beautifully with white, while the Antique gold is a nice touch.

Hugs from Toronto to you all.
Stay safe and healthy.
