For You

Good Sunday morning all!  This one is a bit of an older creation, but it never got a day on the blog last year so I thought I would right that!  I started with a piece of Slate Gray card and used the Abigail decorative die to cut into the card three times across it in a diamond orientation.  It overcuts where it overlaps, but not to worry.  I backed it with a piece of powder pink card to show through.   I cut the Abigail die again out of white and black and used the black one as a shadow, then mounted it in a square orientation in the centre of the card (covering the overcut area.  I cut white and black circles as the base for the For You sentiment, which I cut out of pink and added a black shadow.  I used the Exquisite Poppy flower and created three flowers.  I added them in opposite corners with some leaves and a white satin ribbon.  The card was completed with white, powder pink and slate grey card mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  9 1/2".  All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue
I really need to have Abigail in my circle of friends! She looks amazing. Absolutely love the colours you have used. Grey is not a colour I reach for that often but then I see a card like this and it looks gorgeous - especially when partnered with pink. The Exquisite Poppy is one of my favourite flowers and finishes this masterpiece off perfectly x
My weekend plans of card making have not come to pass as yet. My intentions are there ..........
Happy Sunday everyone x

Hi Sue- this is such a sweet card and it only shows as white and grey on my computer and looks great - I have made a couple of white and grey cards recently and I love the delicate effect of these colours. Your poppies are always winners. Sending best wishes

The Abigail die is so dainty and pretty and I really like that it was a background and focal on this card. I love gray for a neutral...can't think of any color it won't go with.
Everyone, enjoy your Sunday,

Lovely design and great idea to die cut a couple of appertures into the front layer and overlap the center of the appertures with a whole die cut of the same. Colors are terrific. I also like pink with kraft colors.

Love the Abigail die, and here again you have shown alternate ways to use the die, which is very helpful. The powder pink and slate gray go well together. A very elegant card. Hugs, Judy
