Get Well Soon

Hello my crafty fiends!  I am back hitting the Pixie Powders for this one!  I started with a piece of coconut white card as my background.  I cut the Hexagonal Border out of black card and glued it vertically on the left side of the card.  Next I cut the Daffodil Flower Square.  I cut a base for it out of black card and used spray glue all over the base then attached the die cut image.  I used a bit of leftover yellow Pixie Powdered piece and cut the flower square out of it.  I paper pieced it back into the image.  I did the same thing using a piece of green Pixie Powdered piece and then paper pieced it into the leaf sections.  Next I carefully peeled up the die cut leaving the negative space.  I sprinkled Black Glitterbitz into the area and filled in around the flowers, leaves and background with it.  I added  multi layered frame using the Double Stitched Squares and white and black card.  I attached it to the background with foam.  I cut the Get Well Soon sentiment in both black and yellow card.  I used the black as a shadow and then glued the sentiment below the framed flower.  White and black mats and layers were used to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x  8" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Good morning Sue,
A beautiful and striking card. I love the effect of paper piecing the pixie powder flower as it creates a lovely, natural look. The glitter background adds another great touch. Thank you for the wonderful inspiration.x

Hello Sue,

A breath of sunshine that is guaranteed to make anyone feel better. I like how you have used the glitterbitz to fill in the negative space, it adds a bit of dramatic elegance to the card.

I imagine you are getting ready to leave for Creativation in Arizona. I hope that you have a successful and wonderful time.

Hi Sue, a really gorgeous and creative card. Love the idea of using the die cut to get everything in place and then lifting it and filling in with glitter. Will have to try that. Hopefully will work with your stained glass dies too. Have a good day everyone. Bx

Good morning Sue. A very appropriate card for me today Sue as I went for my pre-op yesterday and am feeling a bit low. Then I clicked on Bloglovin and was told to 'Get well soon' which brought a smile to my face.
I am saving this post of yours for future use as I will need to make a purchase or two. I really love the touch of Spring look from the Daffodil and I would never have thought of using black glitter.
Thank you for sharing and have fun wherever you are.
Cheers

Hi Sue, another lovely example of what can be done with your flower squares - keep them coming as I see that I shall have to be making another purchase very soon :-) I am sure that this card would brighten anyone's day and cheer them up if feeling down. I have some pixies on order and am looking forward to playing with them especially if I can get results like this.

Morning Sue. I do love these flower squares as they are just the right size to make a smaller card or as a focal point on a larger card. Love the bright colour on this one which really pops against the sparkly black.

I am shaking my head in amazement at the creative way you go about designing your cards. Loving the artistic way you paper pierced the daffodil, with pixie powder ofcourse, and then removed the outline of the flower AND then you added glitterbitz into the void where you removed the flower outline. Awesome!
