You're Amazing

Good Sunday morning all!  Here is a ditty little card (at least by my standards! LOL)   I get asked for smaller cards all the time and I will admit they are a bit of a challenge for me, I do like a larger format, but I think this one came out quite nice!  I started with a piece of coconut white card and cut the outer decorative shape from the Bruges die out of it.  I backed it with wisteria card and used the inside cutting edge to create a frame.  I added mounting foam to the back of this piece.  Next I used the smaller decorative die and cut it out of wisteria card and attached the frame over it and added another layer of mounting foam to the back.  I cut the smallest decorative die out of coconut white card and backed it with white and seated it in the opening of the other cut pieces.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the small oval from the Antwerp die set.  I inked it with Shaded Lilac distress ink, then added it to the centre of the card.  I cut the Exquisite Poppy die and made two flowers.  I used the fine tip end of the Shaded Lilac distress pen and drew the lines in through the die, then inked the edges before assembling the flowers and adding pearl centres.  I seated the two flowers on a white satin ribbon bow in the lower corner.  White and wisteria mats were added to finish the card.  The finished dimensions are 5 1/2" x  6 1/4" in size.

Missing You

Hi crafters!  I am skipping around a bit, but here is a card that I made using the January release.  I started by cutting three of the Gemma die in wisteria card.  I overlapped them slightly and sort of hooked them together by interlocking the swirls from the longer side of the die (a sort of over and under method if that makes sense).  I glued them to a piece of coconut white card to create a background.  Next I cut the smaller die from the Cape Verde die set in wisteria and backed it with black.  I cut one more of the outlines in white and cut it down the centre to create a white shadow behind the focal element.   I stamped my sentiment in black and cut a frame for it using the Bermuda die set.  I glued it over it and trimmed away the excess and attached it in the centre of the card.   I tied a double bow out of some white silk ribbon ( from my stash) and added it below the sentiment with a pearl button accent.  The card was completed with white, black and wisteria mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x  8" in size.

Don't forget to scroll down to the previous blog post to see the list of  April die release winners!  Only about half of them have been claimed so far so there are more winners out there!!  All for now, Sue x

You Are The Best

Hi crafters!   Here's one from an older release that I missed!  I started by embossing a piece of coconut white card with the Jacobean Floral embossing folder for texture.  I used the Double Pierced Noble Ovals to cut a wide frame.  While it was still in the dies, I laid it on the same embossing folder, leaving the folder open, but covering it with the tan mat and several sheets of paper, then the raspberry plate and embossed it as well.  I added mounting foam to the back of the frame to raise it.  Next I cut the inside decorative die from the Geneva die set in Navy Blue card.  I used the ribbon threader die from the Belgian Tags set and cut it in white.  I wove a piece of navy blue wrinkled satin ribbon through the tag and then attached it to the centre of the Geneva cut out laying the ribbons outstretched.  I attached the frame over the top with the ribbon going under the frame.  I tucked the ends of the ribbon behind the card and taped them.  I added a double bow to the side and topped it with a satin ribbon flower embellishment and two stick pins.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the cutting edge die from the tag and seated it in the centre of the tag after giving it a light inking with Stormy Sky ink.  I added pearl corners to all four corners.  The card was completed with white and Navy Blue mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7"  x 8 1/2" in size.

Don't forget, today is the day!!  The drawings for the winning dies will be done and posted later this afternoon!   Don't forget to check back then!!!  All for now, Sue x

Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hell there bloggers!  Today's card giveaway is a pretty done in brown tones (just to be a bit different!).  I started by cutting an aperture in a piece of coconut white card using the Tahiti die.  I embossed the aperture piece using the Jacobean Floral die set for texture.  I added mounting foam to the back to raise it for dimension.  I cut another Tahiti die out of taupe card and used the inner cutting die to create a frame out of it.  I backed it with chocolate brown card and used the inside die from the Tahiti set to cut detail into the centre of the brown card.  I backed it with white and recessed the entire set into the aperture.  I stamped a sentiment and cut it out with the smaller centre hexagon and seated it on the larger hexagon as a mat.  I tied a ribbon around the bottom of the card using white frilly edged ribbon and tied a double bow.  I cut several of the Striped Nasturtiums out of taupe card and used the outline cut in chocolate brown and glued them together.  I created three flowers and seated them around the focal element, adding bits from the Family Tree die set as accents.  The card was completed with white taupe and chocolate brown mats.  The finished dimensions are 8" x  9" in size.  Leave a comment to be entered into the drawing to win this one.  All for now, Sue x

Candy Machines

Hello there my crafty friends!  I decided to share some of the Working Candy Machines that I made for the show I did back in Feb.  There are many more to share with you, I just need to go in search of the pictures for them.  So I will break this post up into some now and some a bit later for you.  I am not going to go into the breakdown on making these as there is a YouTube video that will do a much better job you can watch on our channel (just click through the link on the right hand side of my blog to take you there).  I really enjoyed matching the candies to the card and giving each of them a bit of a theme.  As you can see they are all very different, some using other die cuts, some using stamps, but there are just so many ways in which you can use this die set so I wanted to share some of my ideas.  Don't forget, each and every one of them works so you turn the handle and the candy comes out to!   Have a favourite in these?  All for now, Sue x
