Sunday 9 August 2015

The Future Belongs

Good Sunday morning!  Today's card started with an embossed background.  I used a piece of coconut white card an embossed it with the Climbing Vines embossing folder.  Next I cut the Greek Island border out of pale green card (from my stash).  I rubbed enchanted gold gilding wax over the top of it to bring out the detail.  Using the Kefalonia die, I cut and embossed creating a frame.  The debossed elements from the die recess into the card when embossed and then I lightly rubbed Bundled Sage distress ink over the top while still in the die.  I added mounting foam to the back of the frame.  I stamped the sentiment in black and covered it with a sticky adhesive sheet.  I coated it with clear micro beads then seated the frame over it (with extra glue on the mounting foam).  I attached it to the bottom of the card and added a pearl swirl across the top of the card.  Finally, I completed the card with a pierced white mat layer, a thin pale green mat and a final white mat layer.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  9" in size.

The winners of this week's comment game are:

Jackie Durrant!!!
Yvonne H!!!
Marion H!!!

Congratulations!  Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your prize.  All for now, Sue x

Sunday Smiles to you Sue.
A lovely soothing simple but elegant card today, it's the gentle hint of green that give's it that 'soothing' feel, and after the non stop day we had yesterday, my body hurts from head to toe, so a bit of soothing is just what I need today !
Many congrats to the 3 Winning Wilsonettes today, enjoy your gift.

Morning Sue
What a beautiful gift you have given us this Sunday morning.
Not only that but the most beautiful sentiment to match.

I love white/white with just a little hint of a soft colour and today's palette shows how well that combination works. Once again your dies are the stars of the show and I think it would be very difficult to find someone who wouldn't love to receive such a gift.

At last our hot weather broke yesterday and we had a full day and night of thunder storms with lots of rain. Everything looks better this morning for it.

Congratulations to all this week's winners.

To all in pain and suffering I hope your day gets better. To everyone please take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

Hello sue and everyone. Today's card is very pretty the boarder looks nice in the green colour I helped nan make granddads birthday card in May an we copied 1 here you used the same boarder die in black an used the guild gold on it but there was 2 boarders an the card sort of looked like it was made of metal. We couldn't get any of the charms you use in the middle of the string bow so we made a gilded rose instead. Granddad liked it so much he as still got it up in the living room now an his birthday was in May. I told nan that a lot of you have also cut in the blue plate an she said it's ok I not in trouble it's only a Bit of plastic but I should try harder so that it lasts longer oh an granddad as said that if I carry on making such good cards he might buy me a todo cutting machine for my birthday or Christmas this year it look so good because you can foil words in gold an silver an other colours like they do on cards Fromm shops but nan said she don't think it's as good as it looks on TV so best wait an see what others say when thy buy it an ply with it I hope I do get to get it because it looks good.thank you Molly oxoxox

Haven't done much bar organising some tidying up as have yet more stuff entering the craft half a room. Neck stil bad but if I have asleep every few hours I seem to be ok enough to do something. The room will look much more organised. One item is a five tier shelf to put stuff away to make room for my new dress form :-D and another vintage sewing machine though this one is just being tidied up and getting running smooth and being given to my mother. It is stunning and now it means I want one like that for myself! As stuff is going in it means some must go out so that big box of stuff I've been meaning to put on ebay must get seen to asap while Mr W is off work. It's hard work weighing, working out postage (as ebays postage estimator jsut tells you an item is much more expensive to send than it is), photographing and writing descriptions but it'll be worth it as I intend to fund my next lot of dies this way!

Wishing you all a happy new week with good weather, crafting and the odd crafty purchase! Hugs to you all with extra when and where they are needed

Good evening our lovely Sue and happy Wilsonettes,
This is a lovely card for those(can't understand it myself) that don't like frills and bling. It is such a lovely soft looking card that could be for many different occasions. I always like the colour of a sage green as it is quite soothing and although could be considered a warm colour it is so peaceful and calm looking. The ivy is lovely going down the side and with the gilding is so nice and if only I could handle the soft touch is best part but mines never turns out like that, it could have something to do with the shaken hands. I have found that as long as I do the pave pearl droplets all the mixed sizes it works, it's only when I try doing the same size that I get into bother. Thank you Sue for letting us in on another wonderful creation as we do sometimes need just this style of card when our full works just won't suit. Hope you are having a ball with your mum along with your eternal need to work across in sunny Florida because you are missing nothing weather wise back here in the UK. Sending your mum hugs and not forgetting you and hopefully you will be back on our screens again soon.
A big well done to all this weeks lucky winners as it can give you quite a boost when you see your name up there so I hope that you enjoy your prize when it arrives.
Well after seeing how much stuff I have under the stairs I don't think that I will be needing card, paper, inserts, blanks, kits glues or anything else that way here in the next 10 years, however stamps and dies are a totally different thing altogether as you can never have enough off them can you? How come when ever you sort out your hides hole you always have less room than you had to start with ? I have lost count the number of Hunkydory kits I have, one of them is a Christmas kit that I have 6 off. I don't know how I managed that so I think I will need to either sell some or give it away to the school or that for them to make with the children although I think I might just be sinking myself into that job as they don't have a resident craft teacher. I even have affected my boy with my brain full of rubbish because today I was talking to him about the exploding box that I had made (the only one so far) and we were talking about the old jewellery boxes that I bet I wasn't the only one to have one of the dancing ballerina that twirls and plays a tune when you lift the lid. My lovely boy started giving out with suggestions as to what I can do with my exploding box(he's going to get a bad name for himself from the rest of my wonderful non crafty family if he starts saying things like that out loud. Oh boy did my heart good today just to know that at least one of my children had the craft bug just like me and my mum and dad before did. I went to by school clothes for him the other day when I realised that he isn't going back to school, but going to college where being smart is seemingly uncool. I can't wait for him to come out the other side of this scruffy stage as it just isn't my boy that goes around looking like something that feel off a flitting and forgotten to be picked up, he used to be so smart and shone like a new pin until this scruffy stage was entered. Oh well it could be worse I suppose and that I am grateful for small mercies
Well I will leave you all sending hugs to all my lovely Angels that help keep me up
Love and crafty hugs
Norah. (Glenochil )

Ooh, I like this new card. (Then again, I like them all!). The soft and delicate look is gorgeous. The strip of leaves, I use so often, along with the Kefalonia dies. Thank you for the inspiration and the videos. I have fallen in love with your dies and embossing folders. They cut like a hot knife in butter. So easy to use. By far, your line is my favorite in the lines that I have. You really took dies to a spectacular level! Thank you!!

Gorgeous embossing and use of those micro beads! Both add so much lovely rich texture.
