Lacquered Sun Ray Plaque

Hello my crafty friends!  Today's video card is a very different one for me, but you just have to try something new once in awhile, don't you?  It is a fun technique that I think would work a treat for cards for men or even teenagers (which can be even more difficult sometimes to come up with ideas for than male cards! LOL)
Buy from Joanna Sheen

The finished dimensions are 7" x  8" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Well the Weather Office said that yesterday was officially the first day of Summer. It may have been in their world but in mine it definitely was not. I had the heating on all day and we had torrential rain last evening & through the night so I'm hoping today will be better afterall we are now into half way through the year. Where has that gone?

To all in pain and suffering today I hope your day gets better. To everyone please take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

I made a card for my son on his 50th birthday in April using this technique but I had to glue the strips which was quite messy. Many thanks for your tip of using double sided adhesive sheets and I will be using these when I make another card. These look so attractive. I used a paper pad to select papers as I found that when using these pads all the papers compliment each other. This is my tip to other crafters.XXX

Hi Sue

Very striking, different but a great scrap buster! I only have a Christmas sentiment but thought a nesting die with a stamped picture and/or sentiment might work too. In the book to try another time, I think.

Wow, it has been so windy. Billy hates going out in the wind. Last night it was banging the windows and all sorts. Much calmer now I'm pleased to report!

Any other football fans out that will be as happy as I am today!

Hugs and thanks from both of us to Angela in S. Wales, Alimecca, Maria, Janet Ecco and Saba, I have rested well today and will pack my 'day out' bag tonight ready to go to see the specialist tomorrow. My lovely brother is getting here early to make sure I'm ready and got all the bits I need as welk as to raid my kitchen (lol). At least 3G is fast enough that I can check on the blog while on my travels tomorrow. Will take about 1 1/2 - 2 hrs to get there and park up, possibly longer so I allow for 3 hours. Getting home is longer as I get out of the hospital in time for the school run traffic then by the time you hit the M25 it's rush hour! I used to do the drive myself so know the timings all too well. The time will fly once Dan and I start talking music though so we won't be bored. The day and travel do take a bit of getting over though!

With that I will love and leave you all, big hugs to all of you, I have plenty extra if you need them. Wishing you all crafty happiness,

Hello Sue,

How unusual and so much easier to do than I thought - thanks for the video to lead us through the making-up...I can have some fun trying out different colour combinations for the sunray effect...

Hi Sue, couldn't make it yesterday but watched the video this morning. How unusual ; but a good way of using up our scraps. I might try this with my gold and silver off cuts. Your videos are always easy to follow. Thank you. Hugs xx PAuline A

Hellooooo Sue and the Wilsonettes! What a striking card and love the technique. Obviously any colour way that you want, but I love the embossed and stamped effect. Great idea for the men and teenagers, plus older, in age. Brilliant video as always Sue. Sending love and hugs to you Sue and your family xx Love Karen xx
