With Gratitude

Hi bloggers!  Just taking a stroll back through some of my folders from older shows and found this card to show today.  The background was created using the Floral Flourishes stamp from Justrite stamps.  I used the Brushed Pewter distress stain and covered the stamp with it. While you won't get the sort of look that you get from a dye based ink, it does stamp and give an interesting look. I used it here on a deep purple card for a nice contrast.  Once stamped, I cut the piece up into three panels and mounted them on to silver metallic card.  I wrapped a piece of silver seam binding around the card and taped the ends to the back.  I added a messy bow and some silver tulle to the left side edge using glue dots.  I made a rose out of silver card and seated it on the bow.  I stamped the background on white card using the same stain.  I then stamped my sentiment using a black archival ink an die cut it using Vintage Labels Two.  I tucked the edge under the bow.  I finished the card with a double silver mat with a pierced inner layer.  A really quick and simple card which can be easily changed to suit any occasion.  Finished dimensions are 6" x 7 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue
Missed this card yesterday I couldn't get a good enough signal to get the pictures.
This is a stunning card, the pewter distress stain on top of the purple card looks amazing, the stamp you have used gives it a regal look as if it should be in a palace.
Love the silver rose, I thought it had been made out of metal as it looks so shiny and perfectly cut, until I read your method I still think it looks amazing.
The silver seam binding really finishes the card off brilliantly. The sentiment tag is lovely.

Great card as always Sue.
