For You

Hi bloggers!  I thought it was about time I got back to a full blown "Sue" card with bows, swirls and flowers, among other things!  This is another of the cards from my Scotland demo day.  I started with a piece of taupe card and used the corner from the Gold Element One die set. I just used the insert piece and cut the opposite corners with it.  I used long strips of the Scotch brand double sided sticky tape across the edges and then covered them with Summer Meadow gilding flakes.  I used a piece of rubit scrubit pad to refine the flakes.  I matted this piece on black card so that there was a nice contrast showing off the corner cut out areas.  Next I used the Splendid Circles and cut the largest die out of black card for the backdrop on my focal element.  Next I stamped the Kaleidescope Stamp To Die For using the Flake and Glitter Glue on to taupe card.  I covered it with the same gilding flakes and refined it too.  You can see some of the lacy detail in the close ups below.  I cut it out with a circle die and mounted it in the centre of my Splendid Circle.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the Decagon die. I used a light inking of Black Soot while it was still in the die. I made a matching faux nestie for it in black and seated it in the centre of my circles.  Using the Bitty Blossoms dies, I made an assortment of flowers out of taupe card and arranged them around my circular focal element with some matching leaves from the set.  I added a messy bow tied from black seam binding and a natural jute bow.  Finally, I finished my card with a double pierced mat out of taupe and some black rhinestones swirls.  I love the elegance of the gilding flakes against the taupe and black card.  I hope you will like this one too!  Finished dimensions are 7" x 9" in size.  All for now, Sue x

A beautiful gift for Monday morning but I'm afraid it's not hitting bells with me.
I usually like gold/black but it's not sitting quite right with me.
I know I'll be in the minority of Wilsonettes but am looking forward to tomorrow.

Good morning Sue,
the Sue Wilson we know and love is back from her Christmas and sophisticated holiday. Its not that we don't appreciate the beautiful cards you have been bringing us, but we do love that you're back in full Sue mode again.
Todays card is lovely with the gliding flakes and bow but not just me. But i'm not deterred, tomorrow is another day and i will be waiting. Its nice how you make a range of cards so that it will suit each of us at some point as life would be boring if we all liked the same.
Have a great day Sue,
Love and crafty hugs

Dear Sue
What a beautiful and visually stunning card this is. I love the gilding flake border and centre piece against the monochrome of the black and white/taupe card. Such a stunning effect. I keep forgetting about my gold elements one corner die, thank you for the prompt to get it out and use it again, it's so intricate and pretty. I love the bitty blossom flowers they are beautiful and set off the card wonderfully. ( another set of dies I've not used for a while. )
What a stunning card this is, Sue. It's been lovely to see your breadth of creativity with your cards, but its great to see your signature card style back again. Keep crafting!

Thank you for this wonderfully inspiring blog and all your hard work you put into it.
