Speedy Recovery

Hi crafters!  Still going through folders to find cards that I have missed and I came across this one from the Die D-Lite shows from February.  It's a rather pretty one so I think it deserves its day on the blog!  I started by stamping a swirl all over the background edge and then heat embossing with white powder.  I love the look you get, it adds interest, but doesn't take your focus away from the main element of your card.  I used the decorative window Die D-Lite and cut it out in white card.  I stamped the stained glass from Heartfelt Creations in black on white card.  Next I covered it with a sticky adhesive sheet, peeled the backing paper off and micro beaded it for texture.  Now this stamp was not designed to fit this window, so I had to do a bit of trimming to get it to fit, but I think it looks great in it.  I mounted my window with foam mounting pieces.  I made two roses to sit at the corner of the window with some white tulle and a couple of swirly pieces that were parts of other die cuts that I nipped off.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the Ornamnetal Tag Three, but I nipped off the decorative part to use around my roses and just used the sign part.  I inked it lightly with Black Soot while still in the die.  I used the die to trace around to make a faux mat for it in black too.  I mounted my sentiment above my window then added  a black mat around my entire background.  I finished the card with a double white pierced mat.  Finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x 8" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Lovely card but I don't like this particular sentiment on this design As someone has already said It would make a perfect Sympathy card & if I was ill the "church like design" would be too reminicsent of what's to come I want a Get Well card that's bright & cheery Sorry Sue but that's how I feel today

Glad you didn't hide this away any longer, Sue, a brilliant card. White-on-white embossing, micro beaded window, flower - all of it! As lots have said, change the sentiment and it's suitable for so many occasions.

Hi Sue. Love it. The microbead window is gorgeous, it works so well. I think this one is so versitile, again, you are so clever, but I do agree with karenlotty. It doesn't make me think "Get well". Just about any other sentiment works though. (I think this is the first time after 18 months of daily viewing that I have ever not agreed 100% with anything you have blogged! I think that tells us all how fantastic you are at hitting the right note:)) Take care

What a beautiful crisp card that will cover a whole range of occasions wedding, anniversary even sympathy. (I hesitated to put sympathy didn't want to be a misery, but when I looked at other comments I see that Patricia Howarth thought the same) I love this card
and black can also be changed for a whole host of colours.

P.S. I have just tried stamping the window on rainbow paper and it looks fabulous just like stained glass.

Dear Sue
Another very late comment sorry.

I really like the swirly embossing powdered background, it adds a nice texture and interest to what would have been a blank space otherwise.
I love the stain glass stamp that you microbeaded it's beautiful, even though you had to trim it you'd never know it wasn't made for this die.
The flowers are beautiful.
I think this could make a lovely wedding card too, or christening....so many occasions.
How do you get your piercing so neat? I have a piercing ruler and tool but end up with bits coming back up when I pull the tool out its very disappointing for me. I will email you to ask incase you don't get this post.

Best wishes and thank you for this beautiful card and all your hard crafting and work you put into your blog,
