Laughter Is The Shortest Distance

Hi everyone!   Today's card is probably one of the easiest cards to make as I let the decorative paper do all the work for this one.  I selected a couple of papers with vintage styling to use (I think they were both My Minds Eye, but I am not positive about it, sorry).  I cut a larger background out of a peach toned decorative  paper, then found a coordinating paper with a beautiful rose and music pattern to it for the inner background.  I decided to let the corner roses to do the work and add interest to the card this time rather than stamping or embossing.   I stamped the Justrite stamp from the Live, Love, Laugh set on to the same paper as the outer background.  I stamped my sentiment inside the framed stamp and then cut it out with the coordinating Vintage Labels Two die.  I coloured the striped area with distress markers and mounted it on foam in the centre of my background.  Using a bit of leftover paper from the outer background, I tore circles of varying sizes to create flowers.  I used a Tattered Rose distress ink on the torn edges.  I crumpled them a bit, then glued two or three together to form my flower.  I added a flatback pearl in the centre of each one and mounted them around my focal element.  I added a messy bow tied from chalk coloured seam binding which I spritzed and scrunched for a more shabby chic vintage look.  I topped my bow with one more flower and added a pearl swirl spray to the opposite corners as accents.  I finished the card with a double black mat.  Finished dimensions are 6" x 7" in size.

Time for the Sunday Comment Game winners to be announced.  This weeks winners are:
Theresa Pace!!!
Kiraneries!!!
Floss!!!

Congratulations all!  Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your prize.  All for now, Sue x

morning Sue
A beautiful and wonderous gift today reminding us that we all have papers in our boxes that we possibly haven't seen for ages and that they make beautiful backgrounds.
The colouring and format may be simple but are gentle and victorian in feel and I defy anyone not to love receiving today's gift with that very very true sentiment.

Hi Sue
Love this beautifully girlie card in peaches and pinks.
The striped stamp threw me a bit as it looked skewed like an eye illusion but I think it's my eyes being tired!
The background papers you have used are so very pretty I think I'd need two of each so I had one set to just look at and admire and use the other set! The distress inks are on my list of things to get they are great. I love both the frame stamp and the sentiment stamp.

I'm enjoying stamping again now I have my craft dragon flexi press as its improved my stamping 100% so I've been making stamped images for cards and colouring them in the evenings ready to mat and layer and put on a card. I've made a few Christmas cards using my older stamps.

Back to your card - I just wanted to say its beautiful. I love the torn edged flowers with the pearls in, the bow is just right for this look of card you have made.
Thank you for all your inspiring posts.
