Thank You For Being There

Morning my crafty friends!  I seem to be coming across all sorts of cards that I had forgotten about.  This one is a soft girlie card that features the Gold Element One corners (so, so pretty aren't they!)  I started with a piece of peach coloured card and I actually embossed it first with my Basketweave embossing folder.  I then cut the centre using the decorative insert dies from the Adorning Squares.  Ordinarily, I would cut first so as not to flatten the embossing.  However, I was concerned that the detail in the decorative cuts would tear if I embossed them after cutting, leaving holes in the pretty pattern.  The embossing was deep enough that it wasn't really bothered.  Next, out of milk coloured card, I cut two of the Gold Element One corners using the outside cutting triangle with them.  I glued them top and bottom so the tips met in the centre.  I stamped my sentiment on milk coloured card and cut it out with the smaller die from the Adorning Squares.  I inked it lightly before removing it from the die with Antique Linen distress ink.  I mounted it on the diagonal across the centre of my card.  I added a double milk mat with an inner pierced layer to frame my card.  I finished it off with a row of 5mm cream flatback pearls down both sides of the card and some smaller 3mm pearls to the sentiment tag.  Perfect for a friend who loves all things girlie!  Finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x 7 1/4" in size.

Just a quick reminder that Julia Watts has shows today at 11am on Ideal World and 4pm on Create and Craft.

Be sure to check back tomorrow for a sneaky peek at one of my samples for my shows on Sunday!  All for now. Sue x

Very pretty card. Have all the "ingredients" for this apart from the basket weave embossing folder so might give this a go as I've got a girlie card to make. I'll just have to substitute another folder. Thanks for the idea Sue. Looking forward to Sunday.
