Special Day Cascading Heart Card

Hello everyone!  Thank you so much for your patience.  I had a great nights rest and then hit the ground running again today getting everything put away from Ally Pally and sending out the charity auction cards too!  Speaking of the auction, I forgot to tell you who the winner was that guessed the closest amount.  From the auction of 15 cards, I raised  (insert drumroll here) £802.11 !!!  I was given another £170.00 as donations to the charity but not part of the actual auction.  I was so completely thrilled that we were able to raise that amount, I was over the moon with that!
After checking everyone's comments closely, the winning guess for the 15 card total was made by Michelle with a guess of £767.55.  However, I have decided to include a prize for Mary at Doghouse because her guess was £804.30 a mere £2.19 over! So both of you please email me for your prizes please!  Thank you again for all your support.

I'll give you a quick rundown of this card, then list all the winners for the comment game this week.
I started by embossing a piece of coconut white card using my new Cascading Hearts embossing folder (so perfect for a wedding card, isn't it!)  Next I used the Filigree Delight die and cut it out in white, using the inner oval die to cut a frame.  I cut a piece of silver card that was exactly the size of the filigree delight and glued the white piece to it.  I then used the oval die to cut the centre out of it.  I used mounting foam and placed it to the left side of my background on the card.   I stamped the Cathedral Lace stamp on white card using a clear perfect medium pad.  I heat embossed it with silver powder and used the oval to cut that shape out of the centre of my stamped image.  I rubbed it with Pewter gilding wax and then glued the oval in the centre of the frame, recessing it.  I stamped my sentiment on a strip and embossed it in silver.  I used the brushed pewter distress stain to edge the strip and then I cut the ends into forks.  I mounted it across the card and embellished the edge with a sugared rose, tulle, swirls and leaves.  I pierced the edges to complete the card. Finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x 8 1/2" in size.

Now, comment game winners for the week are:
Hayley Johnson!!!
Liz Hardman!!!
Beverley West!!!

From the extra qualifying post of Tuesday the 9th, the winners are:
Helen Garrington!!!
Sheila-Ginger!!!
Brenda Hanlon!!!

For the extra qualifying post of Wednesday the 10th, the winners are:
Norah McPhee!!!
Pauline A!!!
Snowqueen 62!!!

For the extra qualifying post of Thursday the 11th, the winners are:
Deborah H!!!
Cats!!!
Magpie!!!

Congratulations to all!  Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your prize.  I will get the big Blog Candy Drawing done and post the winners on Wednesday!

I know the post is getting rather long, but I just wanted to add a little about the weekend show.   I am still spinning from the weekend at Ally Pally, but it was great fun with record attendance too!   I want to thank everyone for stopping by and saying hi, introducing themselves and chatting with me, I really enjoyed it.  A really big thank you goes out to those of you that braved the queue at the stand as it was crazy how long it was on Saturday.  I do hope you have fun with your new goodies and I will do my best to show you loads of card samples using the products we were selling!  Since they moved into the larger hall there last year, it still had plenty of room so you never felt cramped so the weekend was a sheer joy!  I have decided that it must just be an English hospitality thing, because I did stamp shows like that in America for 17 years, usually about 20 shows a year.  Never once can I ever recall being given a handmade card, chocolate or other gifts.  I was absolutely showered with such gifts this time and times before.  It is so lovely (and a bit embarrassing!) to feel so appreciated.  I just want to say a great big collective thank you to everyone who took the time to stop by the stand and tell me how I have affected their lives through my crafting.  Never in a million years would I have expected my life to have such an impact on anyone else's lives and you will never know what that means to me!  That is the essence of life in my world, thank you, I am truly blessed!  All for now, Sue x

Wow £767.55 for the auction of the 15 cards. That is amazing!! Congrats on raising so much.

This card is beautiful. I'm loving the cascading hearts embossing folder and that cathedral lace stamp is just gorgeous. So much detail.

I'm so jealous of all the awesome crafty events in the UK and US. Must be so much fun. Here in Australia there isn't many to go to and the scale is much smaller I believe. If I ever go overseas, I'll have to make sure it coincides with some of these craft shows.

Sue, first of all what a wonderful card as always. Many congratulations on raising such an amazing amount of money for the charity with your card auctions, and I'm so glad to hear you had a fab time at Ally Pally. I would love to see you there some day, but think its unlikely that I could travel, but I can understand why you get showered with presents.

You cannot underestimate the effect you can have on some people's lives with your art. Last Summer I became very depressed during my chemotherapy and lost interest in everything about me. I could hardly move and just spent weeks on the sofa in front of the tv. You did a series of Spellbinders shows on createandcraft craft, and I became inspired. My husband encouraged me to buy the deal, a big set of dies, the only time I've ever spent so much in one go, and I got excited waiting for them to come. I wasn't able to do much crafting at that time, but managed a few minutes each day and gradually got interested in life again. I read your blog every day and have continued to receive inspiration from you. Thank you for being you and giving us all so much joy. Maddy x

Seeing someone's face when you give them a card is a lovely feeling!
I have to say that I have never witnessed anyone that is as widely appreciated as you are, either by the sheer volume of your blog followers or by the effect you have when recommending things that you use after which the whole country sells out of that item! It is fantastic and important to know how much we love and appreciate the effort you go to providing us with inspiration everyday, regardless of what's happening in your own life, you truly are amazing!

Wonderful card from a wonderful lady - it's now my new favourite as my previous three were sold at the auction. Was sorry not to get one, but hey what a fantastic amount raised, Sue.
Don't be surprised or embarrassed at the affection in which you're held - I'm just anxious that you may feel it a lot to live up to.
We love you for your talent and for your lovely ways and giving nature, and are just so grateful for your willingness to share.
Guess you DIDN'T have much relax time as you had to read through the many hundreds of comments. I'm sure none of us would mind if you took some 'time out' if needed.

Hi Sue,
This is an amazing card! Overall of course it is stunning, but in particular I like the Cathedral Lace in the oval 'frame' and the Cascading Hearts embossed background. I have this one and 2 others from your new A4 folder collection and I'm very pleased with them. Well done on raising so much from your card auctions. Brilliant! By the time you've done the demo day plus sales from the proposed dvd I reckon that total will at least treble. So pleased you enjoyed Ally Pally. You most definitely deserve all the recognition and appreciation you receive!

Oh wow Sue, this is beautiful! It would make a stunning wedding card and what couple wouldn't treasure this? How fantastic that such a great amount was raised for the charity and how lovely of you for the kind gesture to Mary too. Wonderful! So glad you had such a fantastic time at Ally Pally and being able to put a face to those who leave their comments for you. It is like the sentiment that you use, "To the world you may be one person but to one person you mean the world". I think I've got it right! How lovely that so many people came up to you with gifts, cards and chocolate (I'd blush too!), but how loved are you? The inspiration and the time that you give to others is second to none and crafting just takes you to another planet! (We need to go there sometimes!). It's been great reading about Ally Pally as some of us might never get the chance to go there. "Thank you". You're just a very special lady and the whole family must be so proud of you. Congratulations to all the winners! What a lovely surprise to see that that includes me too! Whoo hoo! Enjoy your prizes everyone and that means I will too! Take care Sue and enjoy your rest now xx Love Karen xx
