Welcome Home

Hi bloggers,  I must confess to having too many favourites from these shows, but this one could top my list from the bunch.  I just love the wedgewood blue and white together, so fresh and bright.  I found this paper while in Florida this past trip and it was just so different, I instantly fell for it.  I covered it with a sticky sheet and beaded it right up!  I stamped my sentiment on white card and joined the two pieces with tape and wrapped my satin ribbon around at the join.  I tied a double bow, added a pearl embellishment and adhered it to the left side of my card.  I stamped the doorway scene from Heartfelt in black.  Rather than colouring the scene, I merely inked the edges of it with Stonewashed blue Adirondack ink.  I cut one of the Decorative Window dies from Heartfelt in white card.  I glued my window over my scene and trimmed away the excess card.  Now this window is not actually designed to fit this scene, however, you can easily pare the two if you just cover the edge lines with a few flowers!  I cut multiples of the two smallest Floret dies using the same decorative paper from my background.  I inked the cut outs with the matching stamps to give them more interest.  I used a stylus and a foam mat to give my flower dies a bit of shape.  Using two die cuts for each flower, I glued them together offsetting the petals and added a flatback pearl to each of the centres. I made several smaller white flowers using the tiny posy die from the Layered Posy die set.  These are absolutely great for that tiny floral embellishment you need from time to time, don't underestimate it!  I glued my decorated window onto my background and pierced the edge of white mat to finish my card.  Finished dimensions are 7" x 8" in size.

Now I have finally had a chance to get  everything caught up for the blog candy contest drawing!  Starting with THIRD place prize, the winner is..................................

Good Morningt Sue and all the wilsonettes

Congratulations Patricia and the runners up you will have a great time this next week!!!

This card although lovely is a little to busy for me I am afraid but I adore the wedgewood blue ( my mum loved wedgewood so I grew up in a house filled with it)

Well I have finally caught up on all the shows now and they were ABSOLUTELY F-A-B-U-LOUS!!! Thank you so much for all the hints and tips and for the very clear and precise demos of the techniques; a veritable treasure trove.

I can't wait to see the next batch of shows; am I being greedy? :(
You will need to visit Mom later in the year after all this.

Good evening Sue, Congratulations to the winners.

What an absolutely stunner of a card. Love the microbeads on the patterned paper it gives it a totally different look. Great scene and lovely flowers.

One of my absolute favourites too, I love everything about it. It would be suitable for so many occasions ( even Christmas - with the view changed to a snow scene and the flowers changed to poinsettias!)
Congratulations to the lucky winners,
Sue xx
