You Make Me Smile

Hello my crafty friends!  First of all I would like to say that this card is purple and white so as you look at it, keep that in mind.  I almost didn't post it because the purple looks black and the white embossing looks yellow.  Try as I might, the camera could not capture it as it should be.  We are creative people, right, so I figured I will just let you use your imagination on this one, at least I hope you will!  I started with a piece of coconut white card and embossed it with the Garden Lattice embossibility folder.  Don't you just love the A4 sized folders, they make such easy work of it!  Next I used the largest size of the Resplendent Rectangles as my base for my focal element.  I decided to mix that with the Decorative Labels 8 die and use the corners from the Venetian set to clip on to the ends as an accent piece.  I stamped the botanical swirls frame and embossed it in white and stamped my sentiment in the centre in black.  Next I used the Botanical swirls and Accent frame and cut it in white.  while in the die, I used Dusty Concord through the die to bring out the embossed features.  I mounted it over my sentiment with foam and trimmed away the excess from below.  I tied a double bow out of white frilly edged ribbon and added a lavender  Dazzler to the centre and two pearl stick pins as accents.  I used glue dots to attach my bow to the side of my card.  I pierced the edge of my coordinating purple mats and added flatback pearls as accents to my die cuts and corners to complete the card.  As you can see, the dies do all the work, but it's fun to see how they can mix and match among different sets to give such lovely looks.  Finished dimensions are 6" x 9" in size.    Also, I have noticed that many of you are leaving questions for me in your comments.  Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com so that I can respond to them.  It is just so much easier than trying to remember to add them into my posts since they are done and scheduled ahead of time.  All for now, Sue x
