Another Giveaway!

Hello bloggers!  I have made the decision to start posting a few of the cards samples from my upcoming shows in March.  I usually don't post them this early, but part of the show is a repeat of some of the stamps and dies that sold out early on my last 4 Day Deal.  I thought I would show some of those.  The new items are still being kept under wraps, so you will have to tune in to see those!  This rose is my favourite rose stamp ever and I have made quite a few cards with it too.  There is a little sneak peek at the new lilac card here too.  It will be on the shows in March as part of a new pastel card collection.  Before I launch into the card making details, however,  I wanted to announce a giveaway for today too!  Not a card this time, but the newest edition of the Creative Expressions project book has just been released and is now shipping to our stockists.  I have one to give away to one lucky winner today.  All you need to do is leave a comment on today's post.  I will draw a winner and announce it on Saturday's blog!
I started this card by stamping my sentiment in the lower right hand corner using a black archival ink pad.  I heat embossed it with clear powder.  I used one of the rye grass stamps on the show to add a bit of interest around it in a white on white style.  On the top portion of the card, I cut an aperture using Labels 20 (yes it is back!)  Once cut, I used the tiny polka dot mask to emboss the top half of the card for a pretty effect.  I tied a piece of white silky crush ribbon around my card, separating the embossed section from the unembossed section.  I added a double bow, a lilac Dazzler and a pair of stick pins to complete the ribbon embellishment. Next I used Labels 18 to cut an aperture in my lilac card.  I taped it behind my white background piece and added 3D foam to the entire back of the card.  I stamped a few more of the rye grass on another piece of white card and heat embossed them with white powder.  I mounted my background over this, giving me an area to fill in with my roses.  I stamped the rose and the bud on another piece of white card and coloured them using a combination of pencil and distress markers.  I cut both of them out with the matching Heartfelt Creations dies and added them to my aperture with mounting foam.  I cut two of the swirls from the Bella rose die set and used bits of it to peek out from behind my roses.  I finished the card by adding a double white mat and piercing the inner layer.  Finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x 8 1/2" in size.
If you scroll down you can see all the detail pics as well as a few pictures that I snapped at the trade show (called Stitches).

Here is a picture of the four of us that were demonstrating on the Creative Expressions stand.  I'm sure that you will recognise the super talented team standing next to me; Ali Reeves, Hels Sheridan and Julia Watts.
This is a picture of myself with Julie Spencer.  Julie told me that her 12 year old daughter Phoebe has become quite the crafter because she has been watching my shows.  I was ever so pleased to hear that and wanted Phoebe to be able to see her Mom and I together here!

I didn't want today's post to be too terribly long so I have decided to save some more news items for the next few days.  If you live in Scotland, however, please pop in tomorrow for some exciting news that I would like to share, that's all I'm saying for now!  Don't forget to leave a comment to be included in a chance to win the new project book!  All for now, Sue x

I actually came onto Blogger to check what sort of card I had made for my brother's wedding anniversary last year - needless to say it looks like I didn't blog it for some reason!

Then when I come to check out your card for today what have you posted? Yes an Anniversary card - coincidence or what?

Th card is absolutely beautiful Sue, I really like it - however I won't be copying it for my brother as it needs to be posted to Canada so I need something small and simple to save on postage costs. Maybe next year I'll make something similar to yours as it will be their Golden Wedding then.

Thanks for the opportunity of winning the book.

Hi Sue,
Most days I see qhat you do I say I love the card or I think it's great or wonderful blah blah blah.
But it's because I could make them myself after you've said how you did it.
But
Today I'm saying I hate what you did today because I CAN'T colour like you do!! I'm reubbish at that sort of stamping. Today's card is outstanding in the way you did it and I wish I had even a tiny bit of your talent.
So even when I hate what you do I love what you do.
So I hope I get to win the copy of the new project book as it means I get to see what you do :)

Wow Sue, this card is gorgeous, all of your cards are so elegant and have a great finished look! I would love to be able to do some of these things you do, and so would love the chance to win this Creative Expressions project book (I don't have cardmaking books so this would be great). Hugs, Hanneke

Now this card is absolutely gorgous. I'm not really a fan of the colour blue, but this little flower looks so nice sitting with the other colours.
Great pics of you and the others at the show. Wish I could have been there. Living in the North East there are very few if any travel coaches that will travel that far.

Hi Sue. This is such a beautiful card for today !! I love the colours you have used. What a fantastic idea to cut an apperture with one die and put a different shaped die behind it in another colour !! It is very clever and makes the card that bit more detailed. The stamps are great and as always I love your bow and dazzler embellishments !! I am looking forward to seeing the new project book and seeing your shows in march. Lots of love Tres x x x

Hi Sue, what a fabulous rose stamp and I was really pleased to see that I have both labels dies you have used, so I can have a go at layering them up. So thanks for that, because I would never have thought of putting them together. From following your blog and watching you on
C & C it has really encouraged me to look at my dies more creatively, and ultimately get more out of them. Thanks, Sue, take care, love from Karen brass x

Hi Sue,

Beautiful card. Cannot wait for march and the new items. Thanks for sharing your pics.

Do you ever use vibrant, bright/neon colours such as green or orange with your dies? I think coupled with navy or black and possibly a little white this combination could be really effective and new. The truth is I keep running out of time to test the idea myself!

A new project book already! Can't wait to see it - perhaps if I'm lucky, I'll win it! Another lovely card and one that I can't wait to emulate.
