Miss You So Much

Hi bloggers!  This card is a bit difficult to describe as it is a double negative aperture card.  I think it is the first one that I have done like this too.  I was so enamoured when I cut the first Venetian motif that I just had to use the negative piece from it.  I don't know if you remember, but I misplaced the Venetian die after cutting it for the first time so this negative piece was the only one that I had at the time.  Since I hadn't planned to use it, it was a very small piece of card that I used and it wasn't particularly straight either.  So I decided to cut the Asian Motif and use the negative from that on top to cover the edge of the venetian negative piece.  I know, so confusing, huh?  I placed a piece of teal card behind to show through.  I also embossed the negative Asian Motif piece for some texture.  I used the Mystic Embossibility for that.  I cut four of the Venetian borders out of milk coloured card and backed the edge of them with teal card.  This allowed me to use foam mounting pieces on all the edge borders for dimension. I mounted them facing inward to frame my focal element.   I stamped the sentiment on milk card and cut it out with the smaller piece in the Asian Motif set.  I inked it with Broken China while in the die.  I layered it in the centre of the two negative apertures and pierced the edges of the outer mats to complete the card.  I think I will have to play around with other negative apertures to see how they look together too now.  All for now, Sue x
