Butterfly Trio

Happy Sunday morning!  Today's card is all fluttery with butterflies everywhere.  This one is a simple one to make and again, hopefully, will remind you to use your negative pieces as they make great cards too.  I started with a piece of kraft card.  I stamped my sentiment using a black archival ink pad in the lower right hand corner.   I do this first so if I stamp it a bit crooked, I can re-trim my card so it looks straight before I add any other elements (I hope that makes sense?)  I used the butterfly from the Heartfelt Creations Butterfly border set. I cut three of these butterflies, changing the angle slightly each time but keeping them stacked on top of each other in a row.  Once cut, I used a white Inksential pen by Ranger to add faux stitch lines around each of the butterflies as well as the edge of the kraft card.  I love the way that kraft card looks with the white pen, it really catches the eye I think.  I put 3D foam pieces all over the back of this piece then mounted it over some fun decorative paper to bring the butterfly apertures to life.  The foam raises your piece and gives depth to the butterflies too.  Since I had three butterflies that I had cut out, not wanting to waste them, I glued the centre body part of the butterfly and stacked them all together.  This left the wing portion free for some movement, so I was able to bend them so all three showed nicely.  I added my kraft butterfly to the upper corner and adorned the body with flatback pearls.  I finished the card with some Cosmic Shimmer Pearl PVA glue dots around the edge.
If you need a quick card, this one is a winner and works with any sort of decorative papers.
It's Sunday, so time to draw the weekly winners.  Before I do, I just want to say thank you for all your daily comments.  I have said before that I always feel a bit "out of sight, out of mind" when I'm away in the States, but it is so nice to be able to read all the comments you take the time to leave me each day.  It really does make doing my blog daily so much fun for me!  Enough of my babble now!  The winners are:                  Bluebell!!!                           YvonneMay!!!                          Alice (Addicted to your blog)!!!   Congratulations!  Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your prize.  All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue,
What a lovely card as so many people like butterflies it is hard to go wrong. I was interested to read that you always stamp your sentiment first in case it's not straight which I think is a good idea as I always seem to stamp mine last and end up hoping and praying I don't mess it up at the last hurdle and have to start again. Looking forward to seeing you on our screens again soon.

Out of sight you may be, but out of mind? Never! Not when we wake up wondering what you're going to have for us in the blog! Alhough my comments are usually left (very!) late at night, I nearly always take a peek with my early morning cuppa, then a second look at in in my emails later on, by which time I can feel if it's going to be one of my favourites and I need to print it out for my file!
