Hi bloggers! I had a fabulous time at the Kettering show and really enjoyed seeing familiar faces and meeting new blog members! I hope we will be making it an annual event as it was a lovely weekend for all! For today's card, I picked one of my favourites from the shows a few weeks ago. I created the background by embossing the largest size from the Decorative Labels 8 into a piece of milk coloured card. I cut two of the largest size of the Resplendent Rectangles and cut them in half (one lengthwise down the centre and the other one in half the other way). I used the edges as small borders just peeking out from behind my background. I stamped my sentiment on milk card. Then to create a frame for it, I cut out the shape from the Marvellous Squares in blue card. Using my scissors, I cut away the inside of the shape right along the embossed edge. This allowed me to create a frame that fit around my large sentiment. I glued it over my sentiment and trimmed away the excess milk card. I mounted it on foam pieces for dimension. Next, I made some fun flowers from the cotton hemp ribbon. I cut a length of ribbon down the centre and removed some of the threads from the cut edge to get a frayed edge. I rolled my flowers using redline tape along the uncut edge, pinching and gathering as I rolled to create a unique, shabby chic looking flower.
I made several of these in varying sizes and added some vines around them as accents. I added some flat back pearls and pierced the edges to complete the card. If your birthday is today, then this card is posted in your honour! All for now, Sue x

Whats this i read in the above comment you will be on our screens less - why would the top bods do this have they not realized that you are the Spell that sells Spellbinders, your inspration and top tips are second to none. We should start a petition. All i can say is they must be mad.

Today's card is another example of why Spellbinders NEED you. I love the shabby chic flowers and the different way you have used the resplendent rectangle. I was surprised to read that you won't be on C&C very often, because it is you that sells the dies after we see the amazing things you do with them. If anybody knows how to organise a petition of some sort I would be the first to sign it. I have written to C&C and Spellbinders previously but have just been ignored.

I love the card Sue, and the flowers, but I don't think the flowers look well on this card. They seem to heavy for me, I would have liked more delicate flowers on this one, or perhaps some butterflies.

Lovely card Sue. The flower is super too. Having read the posts I am shocked. I find it hard to believe you won't be on C&C as much, what has happened. You are the inspiration that sell's spellbinders dies. The dies themselves sre Ok, but it's what YOU do with them that makes them great.

This is a very unusual colour combo card - one that I wouldn't necessarily think of putting together, but I think it works for someone who isn't necessarily 'girly'!!!
I love how you have done the roses out of that hemp ribbon - great frayed effect.
Have been enjoying the shows so far today - hope they come up with something else for the rest of the week because it doesn't look like you will be using the current 4 day deal stock for more than 1 day!!!

Yesterdays card a beaut and todays loved the card as soon as you did it on cc so glad you put it on today so i can get close ups lol.
Loving the shows today my fav is Bella Rosa stamp and die, just a bit annoyed as the scroll on the leaves stamp doesn't match with the die but i just remove the ink from the scrolls before i stamp and cut the die lol!

Wasn't sure when I first looked at the card..I think it was the colour of the flowers but then as I looked a bit more it made sense.Glad I recorded the shows I had a mini migraine attack but managed to see it off with meds and dark room, and still got show to look forward to yeh!!
