Floral Framed Fun

Hello everyone!  Finally back on dry land after the first ever Create and Craft Cruise!  Not to say that I have stopped swaying yet though!  I am having some issues with Blogger not allowing me to load extra pictures so I thought I would try to see if I could add some on the the bottom of each blog post this week so you can get a bit of the flavour from the cruise.  Starting with the card first, though.  I embossed the background of this card using the Heart Embossibility folder.  I inked the edges with Victorian Velvet distress ink to add a bit of colour to the milk coloured card.  I cut a frame using the largest of the Floral Oval dies and a large plain oval for the inside.  I mounted it up with some small pieces of foam and added Cosmic Shimmer pearl PVA glue dots to the inside edge of the oval.  I cut five of the small die in the Aster Flower Topper set and inked each one while it was still in the die with Victorian Velvet.  I added a large pearl to all the centres and mounted them above and below my frame.  I cut a dozen of leaves from the Floral Tag set and arranged them around all the flowers for interest.  I dyed some American seam binding using the Victorian Velvet ink and added some pearls to the bow to use with my flowers.  I stamped the sentiment and cut it out with one of the ribbon banner dies, added some more ink and mounted it in the centre of my Oval frame.  I pierced the edges of the card to frame the entire piece and finish it off.

Here is a nice picture that I took of Nigel and Shaun with Sheila Halliwell from DoCrafts and Debbie Moore.  Sheila had borrowed Nigels captains hat for the photo and I think it suits her, don't you!  I will have more pics for you coming along in the next several days so be sure to check back.  The cruise was a lot of fun and I am really hoping they make it an annual event.  There were a few minor glitches which is to be expected for a first time, but I think everyone had a great time overall.  I know I did!  All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue, so glad to hear you are all back and you had a really good time, roll on the next one, lol.
Todays card is lovely, I love these dies, they are so useful and pretty.
Sue, I have a question which I need you to answer, before I go crazy, I have cut many of the bauble blossoms, when I roll them up the petals always land on the same side behind each other, I cannot make them into a flower like yours, what am I doing wrong?
Please help!!!!!
Best Wishes to you

Hi Sue,
Gorgeous card, would make a lovely frame for a special photo too. I didn't recognize the flowers as being from the aster dies so pleased to know they are because I've got them!
Glad the cruise was a success and look forward to more photos,
Sue x

Rather you than me on a cruise - not my cup of tea. Always find it harder to get land legs back than sea legs. Looks like fun was had - especially if Nigel was there!! Love the colouring of this card and the pearls really add something to it.

Love the card, yet again another fab creation, just don't kow how you manage to get all the creative juices constantly flowing. Unfortunately my Calibur was poorly sick, and hasn't been replaced, was refunded, don't know why, I'm so disappointed. I've got all these lovely dies, but no machine, and just when I'd got going with it too, blah blah! So sad. Take care Alison :(
