A Vertical Thank You

Good morning!  What do you say to a pink and teal thank you card?  I have used an array of Spellbinders for this one, but what fun it was!  Labels Twenty provided the backdrop for the focal element.  I then cut out two consecutive sizes of the Fleur de Lis squares and cut them both in half from top to bottom.  I mounted them to the outside edge of the teal label twenty die cut, leaving a gap in the centre.  I stamped my sentiment on to a pale pink card and cut it with one of the fancy tag two dies.  I cut two more of those out of the same pale pink and then cut two more out of a slightly darker hue of pink.  The last two die cuts were then cut in half from tip to tip to be used as a shadow for each side of the pale pink die cuts.  All three die cuts were then mounted vertically in the centre of the gap left by the square fleur de lis die cuts.  I really like this primarily because the tags are almost always used for horizontally placed text stamps (and they are brilliant for that!), but don't let that restrict the way in which you use these dies.  Think about cutting them in half so that the two end pieces are in tact and using them as extender pieces for label dies or even as fancy borders around your labels.  I used a few matching colours of the vintage ribbon to ruche and make a bow to embellish the bottom of the card.  I added some decorative pearl pins and some swirly pearlies to the background to finish the card.  Just have fun playing with your Spellbinders and you never know what you will come up with!  All for now, Sue x

Good morning Sue and all, I would like to start with a quote for today (though it is a Thanksgiving quote):-
'We can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures.' (Thornton Wilder)
Well today I would like to be 'conscious' of a treasure - You. Everyday you show us creative ways to use and adapt our dies (as you've demonstrated with this card) amongst other cardmaking tips & ideas and then you offer up fabulous candy. All you ask in return is a few words of comment. So, please accept this Thank You from a very grateful follower (who, by the way, received the most outstanding parcel of candy. Bless you & Regards, Linda

Hi Sue very nice colours, I really like the mixture of pink and teal. Thank you for sharing it with us. I'm still without my Grand Calibur. I really do miss it, but I am managing to make a few Christmas Cards without it. Mind you they would have been much nicer if I had it working. Lots of love Jenny L

Sue I just love coming over to your blog. You show me all the amazing ways to use the spellbinders dies. Only problem being I only have the circles and squares so I will have to get my hands on some more decorative spellbinders. The Fleur de Lis squares look beautiful. This card is really stunning Sue. I love it. Lee x

I don't know why I just lost my comment, but I will try again. I wouldn't have thought of these colors together, but like the combo and use of the dies. I will certainly try something like this when I get my new package - can't wait. My mom always used to tell me not to wish my life away but I am getting impatient - again!
