Good morning everyone! It was great to see all the wonderful comments left about the blog candy yesterday. remember to keep it up for extra chances in the candy draw! As for todays post, this is a special request from follower Babs, she wanted to see this card up close. I honestly thought that I had already posted this one, but I didn't see it when I had a look see back through the old posts. This is one of the Christmas cards that I made while I was away in Florida in August. It was a bit strange to be designing Christmas cards when it was sweltering heat outside, I have to admit! I did rather like the way it came out though. I used some decorative plaid (tartan?) paper I had to make the three poinsettias on the card. The Spellbinders layered poinsettia die makes a beautiful flower I think. I wanted the centre flower to be larger than the other two so I used the extra single leaf from the set to add larger flower bracts to the centre one. The three flowers were mounted on a white background that was embossed with the Creative Expressions Flourish folder designed by Sam Poole. There is a holly accents border, but I have to admit, it doesn't show up very well in the pic as it is white on white. I added a few swirls which were cut using the Samantha Walker Ornate tag set. The sentiment was stamped and cut out with the Picot edge die and layered on to a lace doily die. The entire card was framed with the dots of the pearl PVA glue. I hope it helps you get in the Christmas card making mood! All for now, Sue x

I love the way you have used the tartan paper to make the poinsettia Sue another stunning card. Please can you tell me where you got the tartan paper from?
Heather x
Really stunning, the tartan appears orange on my screen. Florida orange. Fun colourway but classic card. Well done.x
Love the way it is not too Christmassy in colours. Love the plaid paper - there should be a lot more of plaid about as it is often difficult to get.
A beautiful card Sue. I love the way you've used the plaid paper.
Great card. So different from the normal Christmas style. I am loving it!

Oh Sue this is just a great christmas card......I have yet to use my poinsettia dies on a card ...I have cut them and embossed them on an empty beer can and they are wonderful..have yet to make a card...now I have the inspiration I need thank you take care Margaret
How Fabulous is this card. It would take pride of place on my mantelpiece any time. Beautiful Work Sue. Hugs Rita xxx
White on white is so elegant and with a splash of tartan it looks great. Love the PVA pearl, can't wait to try out all the new colours.
I'm currently making my christmas cards, been using the poinsettia die with red mirri card and dark green velum for the leaves , they look great, hoping to use the holly dies too with the same velum. Your card looks great Sue, love it! The white background looks really classy.
It seems alot of people usually associate white for christmas with blue and silver, but your soft red plaid with the stark, snowy white speaks to me of the contrasts of Christmas. Cold icy snow, with warm fires and christmas cheer. (I also see a reindeer, with the florishes as the antlers -yea I know everyone, I'm a picture in the clouds girl!). Lovely Sue. Regards Linda xx
