The second card was made by simply embossing the snowflakes on to the background, adding a tiny bit of distress ink to give it a light tint and bring out the embossing. Add a bit of white pearl PVA or piercing to give it that finishing touch and you have yourself a quick and easy Christmas card to send out in no time at all!
The summer CHA show in Chicago is next week so I am going to have a look at what is new and exciting in the crafting industry for the rest of the year. I will try to update the blog with some pics of the fun stuff I see, so check back. I am also working on my next shows which will begin on August 26th. I'm just saying, you may want to start saving for them now. I will be premiering the summer release Spellbinder dies on the POTW. Just wait until you see them! A-maz-ing is all I can say! I will have some sneak peeks of those closer to the time or possibly sooner if I am persuaded by all of you! (wink, wink)

Beautiful yet again. Love the tartan ribbon and the gems on the first one, where do you get your papers from?
The second one is lovely, liked it when you showed it on C&C, so if you just lay the embossing mat over the selection it won't cut it too? Must give it a go.
Have a great time away, safe journey.
Sue
You have done it again Sue, two gorgeous cards.
Love the music paper on the first one, I must have missed you demo the 2nd one but will try and have a go.
Enjoy your time at CHA, safe journey, look forward to seeing what you bring us back.

Another blue/white combination, just lovely. Let's cut to the chase, no messing around, we want to see the sneak peaks - and soon, please! Well, can't say it clearer than that!!!
Lucky you going to the CHA show, that would be a wonderful treat for us mere mortals, LOL!!!!!x
I'm guessing the snowflakes are nestability dies that instead of cutting were used to emboss only. How cool. That would not have occurred to me even though I have seen the same thing done with squares or rectangles to make borders.
Beautiful cards Sue, love the tartan one being scottish and where do you get your gem swirls from? Cant wait to see the sneak peaks of the Spellbinders!!!
Both are so beautiful cards, yet they´re soo simple. But sumtimes it´s really true, that less is better, and these are really awesome.
Hope you´ll have an amazing time at CHA hun, and I admit it, I´m soooooooo jealous, and wish I could try that too some day. But have an awesome time there and share the fun, when you get back.

Thank you for doing Christmas cards. I need to get some ideas soon so I have time to make my own this year. These are very nice.
I LOVE the embossed snowflakes card. Such a stunning design. I tried recreating it at home but it didn't turn out how I wanted. I think I need to try again with thicker paper or card.
The black flourishes on the top card are amazing. Just wish mine could look as good!
Thanks for the inspiration, Sue.
Lovely cards, all the colours go together so well.
the tartan card is stunning, i wouldn't have thought to use it for a Christmas card until now, as for the snowflakes one, i bought this set but hadn't thought about embossing with it instead of cutting them out.....i have lots of ideas now that i need to get working on :-)
hi sue, your cards are always beautiful but i really love these, keep them coming.
CAS works for me! Love both of these ^^
Hugs from Finland, Eemeli
