Especially For You

Good Sunday morning all!  I have been playing with some of our newest Opal Polishes and have come up with a nice technique too.  I started with a piece of black card and coated it with the Blue Wisteria Opal Polish.  I allowed it to dry well, then taped the Feathered mask over it.  I embossed the mask into the polish by running it through my Platinum machine .  Next, I used a smoothie and added Black Soot Distress Oxide ink through the mask.  I doesn't come off incradibly dark against the polish but there is just enough to bring the pattern out.   I cut the Striped Nasturtiums out of white card and added the striped top piece by cutting them out of some leftover card made with the polish.  I added a black stamen part and a pearl to comlete each flower.  I arranged the flowers in the corner then cut white Lace Edged Leaves and used them as accents around the flowers.  I added the Especially for you sentiment in black in the corner.  The card was completed with white and black mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7"  x  7" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue. Black card as the base? Really? Shouldn't the Polish be renamed 'Magic Polish' it certainly does magical things to various coloured cardstock, then you add to the magic by embossing your stencil, all that even before you put all the elements together - amazing, but the design is beautifully simple that would celebrate any occasion. Sending calm peaceful love to you and all that visit our special place today.

What a stunning card today I do like these opal polishes but a bit weary about buying as my other ones dried up when I was ill and couldn't do any card making for a couple of months and I did spritz them

Sending love and healing hugs to all that need them xx

Hi Sue, a beautiful card to brighten up a rather dull day. It is amazing what you can create from a piece of black card, as Steph says 'it's magic'.

Hi Sue. There is something very pleasing about these simple cards with an embossing folder background and a simple embellishment that you have been showing us recently. Not only do they show of the wonderful embossing folder patterns but the different ways you have come up with to decorate them are encouraging us all to fetch them out from the bottom of our storage and start using them again. Thank you

Fantastic card design. I love it when you come up with a new technique. You achieved an amazing deep embossing using your mask to emboss. What weight card did you use to get this depth from the mask? I will have to try this. Happy Mother's Day. Hugs
