You Are Sew Sweet

Good Sunday morning all!  Here's one for the sewing enthusiasts among us!  I had a rumble through some of my old decorative papers and selected some Graphic 45 from my stash to use as backing paper and for paper piecing the frame.  I cut the Sew Sweet Frame out of milk card and inked through the die with Antique Linen distress oxide ink.  I re-cut the frame several more times out of various decorative papers and nipped away the various elements such as the mannequin, thread spools, pin cushion, fabric swatches and buttons.  I pieced them back over the original milk card cut frame.  I cut the shadow backing for the frame in milk and glued it together.  I used some Bakers Twine to wrapped around the background as an accent.  I cut the sentiment from the die set out of decorative paper and glued it into the middle of the frame.  The card was completed with milk card mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/4"  x  7" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue. These hobby and sometimes worked based frames are absolutely necessary to have in your collection especially if you make to sell as you really get back what you spent quite quickly. Saying that it's still on my list but your gardening collection are just amazing for garden centre workers, allotment owners are those that just adore their garden, this frame would render a stitch-a-holic speechless if they received a card made with this die. The colours you've used and how you've worked the design is just so lovely, I'm totally useless at anything that needs a needle and thread just hopeless the only needles I'm good at using are the 2 I have to stick in myself every week lol. Hope you manage to find the time to catch up with Julia's demo's and have a lovely day xxx

Hi Sue
Apologies for absence and lack of comments - have been out of action x
This is such a fabulous card. Sewing like gardening is not one of my chosen activities but I know people who are passionate about sewing and one particular friend who can knock up a frock in next to no time!
This card is ingenious. It would be such a delight for anyone to receive a masterpiece like this. The colours and the vintage feel are amazing. I almost want to take up sewing - but that’s not going to happen, lol. All the snipping and nipping really is so worth it.
Happy Sunday everyone

Good Morning Sue. I love this one and so appropriate for me. I was a tailoress all my working life. From leaving school at 15 up until my retirement at 62. I still do the odd little bit for my holiday tops and I take in a few alterations. This card would be perfect for me and so would the die..... to recreate this little lovely for my old friends who I used to work with. I am sure they would
Love it as much as I do. Thankyou Sue. Sending hugs and best wishes to everyone. Kind regards Ann Toppcards Leeds.

Hello Sue
I used to sew a lot when first married you had to when money was tight and we didn't have the cheap throw away clothes. Hi Sue, I love the muted colours of this card and the slightly shabby chic look to it. All of your frame dies are so adaptable and snipable they can be used to create truly individual cards.

I do love these dies that are a card in themselves. This one is very cute but as I only have one sewing buddy, I probably would not get. I want the new Gardening Frame however.
Everyone, enjoy your Sunday. The sun keeps peeking out so maybe there is hope for a nice late afternoon,

A very pretty clever card
I too don’t have many sewing friends and therefore cannot justify buying this die especially as I don’t sell my cards - too niche for me

As a sewer/seamstress, I certainly can appreciate all the elements you incorporated into this die design. Amazing job of piecing those parts back into the design.

Very pretty indeed, these dies just have everything in them, apart from a bit of added colour, not much else to do, but this is beautiful...luv Ursula xx
