Thank You

Hello bloggers!  I have come to the very difficult decision to discontinue the Wednesday card giveaways every week.  It has become less and less popular as reflected by the comments left and it requires me to enlist the help of fellow Creative Expressions coworkers to send out the cards when I am not here.  Not to mention, the other demonstrators on our team like to use the cards for their shows so giving them away sometimes poses an issue for them.  I promise I will continue to do giveaways from time to time, but they will not be on a weekly basis, I do hope everyone understands!  For today's card, I started by cutting the Diamond Squares Background once then extending it to make a rectangular background.  I backed it with black card,  Next I cut the Ivy Garden Background circular die and inked it with Princess Pink Chalk Cloud before removing it from the die.  I backed it with black as well.  I cut a Double Pierced Noble Circle out of black and added it with foam around the Ivy circle die cur.  I cut two of the Floral Melody Corner in white and nipped away a few of the flowers to make them a tad smaller, then added in the larger flower and two smaller flowers behind it in the matching pink.  I mounted them along the sides of the circle with foam. I cut the Thank You mini expression out of white and black and shadowed it before gluing it in the centre of the circle.   I added a matching pink mat just along the top and bottom of the card.  White pink and black mats were used to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x  9" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue, what a pity you have to discontinue the Wednesday Card giveaway, I am sure that anyone like me that have received one of your beautiful cards would agree, however, I am sure we all understand the reasoning and also will look forward to seeing the cards on shows. Todays card is really beautiful and very feminine in feel. The black, pink and white colour way is a very striking combo. Have a great day everyone. Bx

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, such a beautiful card today, I really like the diamond background which to me is very useful, but what I always notice with all of your dies is how crisp and sharp they always cut out, that shows quality.

I quite understand about the Wednesday giveaways - quite sad about that because to be able to win a 'Sue Wilson' original is a great honour, but needs must.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs June Smith xxx

The pink and black together really makes this pop - it's gorgeous x
I have always said that the reason I enjoy being a part of this amazing blog is because your talent and inspiration is truly remarkable. I am still overwhelmed by your generosity but that is never my motivation for commenting. I know how hard it must have been for you to reach the decision to discontinue the Wednesday giveaway. You will not get rid of me that easily though Sue! I am here come what may x
Got back yesterday morning after a lovely weekend away but had no internet access. It was an early start so was exhausted when I got back so apologies for lack of comments for the last few days. Anyway I am back for the foreseeable x

Hi Sue. Most of us that visit this extraordinary blog that you've created and grown over the years enjoy looking in every day for the sample you show us, the inspiration that is never ending, the kick up the you know what when our brain stands still, we love and NEED Particraft and you for all those reasons the giveaways are a bonus and not a necessity Sue. You know only too well that there are those we only see during a new launch or card giveaway Wednesday's and for year's it's upset and angered those of us that support you day in day out regardless if we are at home or away we try our hardest to visit daily, to support and thank you for all you do and for the help and inspiration. What upsets us more than this decision is the decline in comments left compared to even this time last year, but like you we are hoping and praying that those that left due to the way the blog suddenly changed will see it's changed again and will start to be seen supporting you again, only time will tell but as for the hard decision you've made, I know I'm not going anywhere any time soon so don't worry Sue, those that really love the blog will stay put, those that decide to disappear are not true supporters of the Sue we know and love ! There, said it.
And today's card is LUSH thank you, please keep giving us this daily inspiration it's just wonderful xxx

I love the pink and black on this card, it is very effective as a colour combination.

Ooh, pretty in pink & I have this die, so one to try. Thank you Sue for all your inspiration. Hi Sue,
What a pretty card. I love that background and think that is one I must have ( wonder how that would look on parchment?) .
I am sorry to read that the Wednesday giveaway will be no more but I totally understand your reasons. As a recipient of two of your cards , one after the sad passing of my Mam and the other from the giveaway, I know how special it is to receive an original Sue Wilson. They both have pride of place in my craft room by the way. You have always been so very generous and for that I thank you. It does amaze me how many people manage to comment during the launch days but not at other times. I decided during this last launch that I would only comment on dies that I would personally use to allow others the opportunity to win, but I still appreciated the hard work. I will be hard to get rid of too!!
Sending love and hugs to all, Alison xxxx

Stunning Card this morning Sue. It's a shame about your decision though I am sure everyone understands. I personally never left a comment on a Wednesday - not because I don't like the cards but I have so many wonderful keepsakes from like minded friends and I know if I had won it would end up in the draw with all the other keepsakes, which would be a pity when someone else would have treated it as a real treasure and framed it or kept it on display.

Dear Sue and Loyal Followers,

We are all winners to be able to see your ideas every day and learn how you made them. It truly is an honor to have and treasure a card you made, and I wish everyone could have won one. But I'm with the outspoken majority, that we don't come back every day for the freebies, but to enjoy, to learn, to support you and to hear what others have to say. You also have my sympathy and admiration for making tough decisions. In my job, there are fewer of us doing the work, and we simply can't do everything we did before. Some people meet the new realities with frownie faces.

Anyway, it would be a shame if your samples, once their heyday was over, started stacking up and eventually got pitched. Maybe someday there will be a museum at Creative Expressions headquarters.

Anyway, your pink, black and white color scheme makes a beautiful and exciting card. I LOVE how the flowers in the Floral Melody Corner look in pink. I'm thinking if one didn't have the ivy circle or the floral melody, one could use Flora with the Star Flower or Daisy Cluster.

Best to all and may your numbers enjoy a steady upward climb.

Donita in R.I.

Hi Sue, firstly I would like to say that I fully appreciate and respect your decision to discontinue the Wednesday Weekly Giveaway. I am sure that it was not easy for you but as others have said before me, we don’t comment just for the gifts but because we appreciate our daily inspiration and guidance. What saddens me though is the reduction in the number of regular comments, there has been a big change in the blog since the New Year and I am sure that you must feel it too. I won’t be going anywhere soon though so I am afraid you are stuck with me :-)
Secondly, today’s card is beautiful and I love it. Some might find pink ivy strange but I know that there are varieties of variegated ivy so you are just helping nature along a bit. The Diamond Squares Background and the Floral Melody Corner complement it perfectly.

Love today's card, by the way, pink and black; who would have thought?.....SW Hugs xx Pauline

Thank you Sue for all the cards you have given away - I have been lucky enough to have won one. But I understand the reasons for discontinuing and thank you for carrying on sharing your ideas with us.

Lovely card today with a great colour combo :))
I can very well understand your decision to withdraw the giveaways, but find it sad, though, since I would love to have one of your wonderful designs irl ;))
But, luckily we can still visit your blog every day to see your beautiful cards and learn how you have made them - I am so grateful for that!

A lovely and dramatic card today. Regarding the discontinuing of your Wednesday give away card offer: I am disappointed, but it is understandable considering the circumstances. Sue, you have been so gracious in your gifting of your beatiful cards. I have been on the receiving end. And I appreciate your kindness to share. I treasure the card you made and sent me. I keep it on display to show others. Those that get to see it, respond in awe.

Please say it ain’t so, as we say in the states. I can’t comment every Wednesday but when something really strikes my fancy, I do make it known to you. If I were in your group I would take over and send the cards to the winners. But, alas, we’re an ocean away. I so wanted at least one more original to have a pair, but some don’t have one so I consider myself blessed and lucky to have one. Not to mention the card you sent for sweet Emily when she was going through the leukemia transplant. She is well and thriving. At 8 years old she is speaking at adult functions. She was guest speaker in Orlando on Saturday evening at the Make a Wish Foundation black tie affair!! We are so blessed she is doing well. God has such great things in store for this little girl and I’m so glad to be able to watch her grow and thrive after praying so hard for a year that she would recover. Your card is in her room, my card is in my craft room and your blog is in my in box every day. So we will reluctantly let you move on with your career as you see fit. I still would love to take you to lunch if you get to Orlando. Just say the word. Our annual craft show is this weekend there. My friend and I are going Friday. God bless and you will hear from Myra from Florida from time to time. Love you.

I don’t blame you at all It is such a commitment I am one of the lucky ones in owning a Sue Wilson masterpiece which I treasure
Today’s card is very pretty and I love that shade of pink and that’s coming from a person who doesn’t like pink!

Yet more inspiration for me to try out using the ivy background set. When I first saw it, I knew it would be so versatile.

I am so lucky to have won one of your lovely creations and will treasure it as it was shown on my grandmother's birthday and made of her favourite colourway.

I am amazed that you managed to giveaway nearly fifty cards a year, so completely understand that your die launches increasingly take up more of your time. I know you have made this decision with a heavy heart, but we have your daily blog posts and videos as well as your Hochanda shows to keep us entertained and educated.

Thank you so much Sue.

Thank you for your daily inspiration, the great videos and your generosity

Hi Sue. I love today's beautiful Ivy garden card, and I love the colours you have used to. I never would have thought to use black, white and pink as a colour scheme but it looks amazing !!! The Diamond background die looks fab and I think your Floral Melody corner is gorgeous !!! ( I really must buy this one.) Your mini expressions "thank you" die fits perfectly inside the centre of the Ivy circle die. This is such a beautiful card Sue. Thank you. Also I have to tell you how very much I love, love, love yesterday's stunning card using the Spring Time die set. This is the same card that I made for my Mum and also for Steve's Mum for Mothers Day this year !!! Obviously I tweeked it and changed it a bit to make it my own but I got the inspiration from you Sue !!! The cards turned out beautifully, thanks to you Sue. Both of our families commented about how beautiful the cards are.
I have always really appreciated everything you do to bring us such fantastic inspiration every day. I know that you work very hard. I really don't know Sue how you constantly keep up with everything. I know I don't always comment as there are times when unfortunately the illness very much takes over my life but I adore looking at all your fabulous creations as often as I can. I don't visit your blog to "win" stuff, I visit your blog because it is amazing, you are amazing Sue and your designing is utterly "OUTSTANDING". You are an incredibly talented lady and you always "keep me going" when I feel so ill. You give me that much needed "ray of happiness" every day and for that I can never thank you enough. I fully understand your decision to stop the Wednesday card giveaway and I am so grateful that I have won one of your gorgeous cards in the past which is framed and on my craft room wall pride of place. I know I don't always comment every single day but I do comment as often as I can. You are my Crafting Hero Sue. You are always so kind and generous. Thank you so much for just being you !!! Lots of love to you Sue always, love from Tres X X X

Hi Sue,
I never pictured Ivy in pink but it is so pretty. As I said many times before, I don’t use black on my cards but this one has the right amount of black, making everything pop up. You worked your magic again and created another beautiful card that makes even harder to accept your decision to discontinue the Wednesday card giveaways even I fully understand the reason. I am disappointed because I never won one of your cards BUT deep in my heart I still hope that one day I will become a proud owner of one of your creations. Till then, thank you Sue for the daily (not only on Wednesdays) dose of beauty and inspiration that feed our souls.

Such a pretty card. I would never have thought of using pink ink with the ivy die, it looks lovely. Wish I could think outside the box.

Sad that this will be the last Wednesday giveaway but completely understand your reasons for making this decision. I hope it is won by someone who doesn't already have one of your cards. I am lucky enough to have one of your creations and it brings me pleasure every day. We are all winners each day when we come to your blog for inspiration.

Take care everyone.

Good morning Sue and all the Wilsonettes.
This day's card is stunning and I ,like others before me, would not have thought of pink ivy or black mat yet they come together wonderfully under your magic touch.

I look forward to your daily inspiration and have learned so much from you, for which I thank you most sincerely.

I realise how hard it must have been for you to stop the Wednesday give aways but I understand your reasons. I have copied and printed todays card and will frame it and hang it in my craft room and HEY PRESTO I have a SUE WILSON original.

Hi Sue
A lovely lovely card today. The background Die is top of my list.
Quite understand your reasoning re the Wed giveaway.

Rose in Chester said...

Hi Sue,
I understand your reasons (and heavy heart) about stopping the Wed cards giveaways. I have been lucky to win one of your Wed give-away cards and every time I look at it I'm grateful.
Still wish I could make those lovely flowers with proper buds in the middle looking as good as yours do.
This card is just another of the "just gorgeous" category. I love pink and black but up to now haven't been adventurous enough to put white into the mix, too. This just shows that it works so very well.
So thank you Sue, for all your generosity, not just the give-aways but your daily postings on your blog providing us with heaps of inspiration.
Hugs, Rose
