Christmas Double Days

Hello crafters!  We are counting down now with only a few more Christmas double days left before the big day.  First up is a black and white card.  I cut the Cottage Scenes in white and slightly overlapped them.  I cut the Starry Night background in black and used it as a backdrop for the cottages.  I added a piece of Icicle card to show through the stars and moon.  I left a bit of card below the cottages for my snowman.  I cut the Snowman Snowglobe Scene and nipped away the scene, keeping just the snowman.  I used the die to emboss the design into another piece of white card and I hand trimmed the backing for just the snowman from it.  I added him with mounting foam in the corner.  Using the Merry Christmas Trim die, I cut it in black and backed it with white to show through the negative cut out area.  I added it in the lower right corner.  I used Cosmic Lacquer squiggled across the leftover area and added Iced Snow to it for a frosty feel.  This also disguised the small line left from cutting the cottages.  The card was completed with white and black mats.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x  7 1/4" in size.  Scroll down for card number two.

For card number two, I cut the Swirling Stars die three times in Antique Gold card.  I covered a piece of milk card with a self adhesive sticky sheet, peeled the backing off and laid down all three of them on it.  I coated the remaining exposed area with Diamond Sprinkles.  I used the Double Pierced Noble Rectangles and cut a multi layer frame out of milk card for the base and a smaller top frame of the Antique Gold card.  I seated the frame over the background and trimmed away any excess card.  I stamped a sentiment and embossed it in gold ten cut it out with the Pierced Flags die set, adding a thin matching mat with them of gold card.  I added the sentiment to the lower area of the frame and accented it with glittery poinsettias made from the Poinsettia Addition die set.  I used gold alcohol ink mixative to match the clear Dazzlers for the centres of the flowers.  Cream tulle and gold metallic linx were added as accents for the flowers.  Gold and milk mats were added to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x  8" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue. I'm still trying to get my breath back after John's show where nothing was on his side, first the family tree then the worst possible ever happened on live tv ! My heart is still out of rhythm, poor chap, I'd have been mortified, in fact I was.
Today's doubles, I loved playing with my die, I don't have the village scene I have the small background but to put gold card behind the windows bought the card alive, with the iced snow and golden card for lighting just made me feel warm and cosy, the second card is also very beautiful, I love how you used the swirling die, it's really pretty, and of course you can't ignore the stunning sugared pointsettia. This IS Christmas.
Ending with my usual hug for the day and hope it's a good one xxx

Hi Sue, two perfectly gorgeous cards today and I really do love them both. Because I have the cottage dies (and have made several cards with them) the first one is just a smidgeon ahead but I also love the glittered poinsettias and the way you have used the swirling stars so I really would not like to choose between them.

Thinking of all our missing Wilsonettes especially Wheely & Billy, Laine and Princess Pixie.

Hi Sue,
Another beautiful pair of cards for us today. I can't believe that we've only got a couple of weeks left u till the big day will be here. I love both cards today but I think number one just passes the post first for me...pretty sure it was down to the snowman in the end lol.
I was very surprised when I went down to town yesterday to find it almost empty. It was almost a pleasure shopping (not my favourite passtime). I'm thinking that it will be busy this weekend with a Christmas food fair on the piazza. I've vowed not to set foot down there until after the festivities now...bah Humbug! I just hate the crowds of frantic shoppers pushing you out of the way especially when it's just a few days to go and they realise they don't have their veggies yet lol.
Happy Friday everyone.

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, sorry late on parade today as been to have my hair cut so I don't look like a hippie any more now. Two really gorgeous cards today, oh I so love them and so happy that I have the dies so that I can have a play. Both equal in their own right.

Sue you would have been so proud of John yesterday when he had a big mishap live on screen when the top came off of the glue, the white went everywhere but what a true professional he di not panic, just carried on and repaired as much as he could and said he would finish the rest off in the break, well when you saw the repaired card you would not have guessed any mishap happened.

Tina T hope all goes well with Peter today at the hospital to have his tubes changed.

Elaine, you would be more then welcome to come along to our craft group, (we laugh so much you might have to bring some tenna's shushhhh). Good new about potassium levels and good luck to Andrew with his chemo today, hopefully he will remember to ask how many he has to have.

Special hugs Theresa G, you must have had a busy day yesterday with the hairdressers and everything so try and get some rest today,

Thank you from my hubby Colin who had a wonderful birthday yesterday.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx
