Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello bloggers!   This is one of my favourite cards as it is pretty and bright and just brings a smile to my face! LOL  If you would like to be included n the drawing to win it, just leave a comment and check back on Saturday when the winner is announced.  I started with a piece of coconut white card and cut the complete petal Sweetheart flowers out in a random pattern across the top of the card.  I added a piece of acetate to the back that covered all open flower areas and added mounting foam to the back as well.  Next I cut another piece of coconut white card the same size and used the Colour Cloud inks across it in a diagonal pattern.  I started with Lemon Meringue, then added Baked Peach, Scarlet Woman, Rose Blush and then Turquoise Pool at the other end.  I mounted the flowers over the inked area so that the different colours showed through the flowers.  Next I cut the coordinating outline flowers out of black card and pieced them into place over the acetate.  I cut the Smile die out of Black Gloss card and added it at the bottom of the card with mounting foam.  I completed the card with my usual matting and layering using black gloss card as the thin mat.  The finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x  8 1/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

A very happy way to start our day Sue with a beautiful smile, and such a colourful smile too, I'm pleased your end production made you smile too.
Thanks to the wonderful bunch of ladies on fb I am now framing everything that doesn't move with your first two Noble pierced square dies lol. I know I go on about being the thickest of crafters but I took the gold medal this time lol I've only been trying to make Sue style frames and stepped box frames without using the correct method no bloomin wonder I was getting nowhere fast but thanks to these special ladies, they have given me the kick of knowledge I needed to get my act together lol boy are they patient or what ?
Anyway I will send my usual hugs to you Sue and start to look at what I can frame next lol xxx

Several people have used the term 'clever idea' to describe this design and this was certainly my initial reaction when I read how the card had been made. The nice thing about this is it could be repeated using different colours and each card would have both similarities and marked differences, ideal for a batch making of cards. I don't have these particular dies but the ideas are so, so useful. Thank you.

Update on me is that I did have a much more comfortable night, only woke up 3 times, hopefully the additional medication is beginning to kick in, not sure if it is this or the pain killers I am taking but it certainly helps.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Yippee!! I have the Sweetheart flowers, 'Smile' has just arrived - all I'm missing are the Cloud colours but I'm sure I can improvise so full steam ahead!! A lovely cheerful card with a modern feel - can't wait to have a go!!
