For You

Good Sunday morning all!  I think this post will go live long before I do today! LOL   I hope you enjoyed the One Day Special shows!  I will be filming a live show from Ally Pally next weekend and then one more One Day Special a few days after that!  For today's card, I have done a bit of triple stamping!  I just love this technique, it is one of those that never seems to miss in my book.  I cut three pieces of coconut white card in squares with about 3/4" difference in size and stacked them a top each other.   I used the stamp called Heart of Blessings that matches the Heart of Hearts die and inked it with a Black Archival ink pad.  I stamped it all over the background so that it caught several of the layers at once.  Next I added thin black mats to each of the stamped layers so that the small area between each mat where the stamp doesn't reach becomes covered by the mats and your eye completes the image.  I coloured each of the images with Distress markers to add a tiny pop of pink and green to the background, then added mounting foam to raise each of the layers.  Finally I stamped one more, coloured it and placed a piece of sticky adhesive sheet over it, cut it out with the matching die, and glittered it with Diamond Sprinkles.  I then added a black mat and attached it to the centre of the card.  I completed the card with a white pierced mat, a thin black mat and a last white mat layer.  The finished dimensions are 8 1/4" x  8 1/4" in size.

The winners of this week's comment game are:

Theresa G!!!
Lilian in Cornwall!!!
Patricia Howarth!!!

Congratulations all!  Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your prize.  All for now, Sue x

Sunday Smiles coming your way Sue. I really really enjoyed your show's yesterday, you looked like you enjoyed every minute of every demo. The sample cards and the cards you made on the show's were truely beautiful and full of inspiration (which is why our little black box is full of crafting show's going way back lol) and watching those early show's it's hard to believe how your techniques and style has changed since bringing in your own die collection, so if a mere craft hobbyist like me can see that, imagin what you are doing for us in respect of improvement and confidence. The card photo's that viewers sent in yesterday we're fabulous and must make your heart sing to think that it's down to you and the tools you provide that help us create such gorgeous work. Must get that mounting foam sheet ordered on Tuesday. So many of us on fb we're asking about the foam you use, and it's available to us now too - whoop whoop 😊
Triple stamping, love it, I bought this stamp when it first came out but its not left the packet yet ! I have 3 wedding cards to re-make to re-stock those I sold last week, so I'm making a pact with myself to use it on one of them, and the other heart flower stamp on another, so thank you for giving me a swift kick to get my act together. The science behind triple stamping is spot on too.
Looking forward to your up and coming show's both at AP and in the studio. Would love to go to AP but many a reason why I can't and won't - (finances and health being the main reason) maybe one day 😊
I don't suppose it's on the agenda for today, but I hope you manage a lie in for one, and some rest time to boot !
Well done winners.

Good morning Sue,
Thank you for another unusual card, the triple stamping this way is fun, rather than stamping on three separate pieces of card and hope you have got them lined up the same. No flowers or bows!!!!
Thank you for all your fantastic demos yesterday. Hochanda need to get both yourself and Julia a lower work surface for you can work comfortably.
Waiting for your next shows as cannot get to Ally Pally as I have difficulty in walking round at the moment.

Wow, what a lovely card, and how unusual! :) I've bought a few stamps and some new ink pads, I have probably hundreds (okay, maybe not that many) of stamps from the days when I bought everything Dawn Bibby said I needed way back when! But they are all in boxes and I have no idea where I put them when I realised I wasn't a natural stamper. But I've decided to have another go, if successful you may see me making a card like this. :) I have so much trouble with my hands because of arthritis nowadays, so I have no idea if I will be able to stamp. We'll see.
Congratulations to the winners today, and hugs to all in need.

Hi Sue,
I keep meaning to try this technique as it's always fascinated me. I love the stamp you've used for this one and the focal heart is just too pretty with all the sparkle on it.
I would have commented earlier but I've been up to my elbows in freezing water trying to sort out my latest project...turning an old 5' water tank into a little pond for the garden. It's a work in progress to be sure as I had to take the few plants I had in there out this morning to try and sort out the soil I put in the bottom...what joy. All I can say is the temperature of the water really woke me up lol.
Amaryllis watch...here's the moment we've all been waiting for...the first two buds are fully open at last :). The base of the flowers are very pale green and this colour stays as a thin line up the middle of the petal. The rest bleaches out into the palest cream/white I've ever seen. The tips of some of the petals have a touch of a pale cerise border. I'm thinking that the original bulb had all the petals edged with colour but somehow just having a splash here and there makes them that much more special :)

Congrats to the winners this week, Lillian, that's the closest a comment winner has been to me, well done and fly the flag for Cornwall lol.

Enjoy the rest of the day and happy crafting.
Bejay xx

Love the way you have stamped all 3 layers together & with the black mats really makes them pop & looks amazing.

Hi Sue

I like today's card, like many, I have moved away from stamping except for sentiments these days. I really like stamping though so will try and reintroduce this.

Your shows were excellent yesterday, I still have one to watch as well so I'm pleased about that. I can understand why you would get a little nervous before shows, but can definitely say that it does not come through to the viewers. You are a true professional! I think the fact you do get a little nervous makes you even more endearing.

I made my in-laws an anniversary card using the beautiful lattice window striplet yesterday. It is on my mantelpiece at the moment. I have to say that I have taken great pleasure looking at it, it is definitely one of my favourite dies. I hope my in laws like it. I can't wait to make other cards with it.

Bejay, good luck with the pond. The amaryllis sounds like a lovely delicate colour. I hope you enjoy.

Love Helen xxx

Gorgeous card. Your One day special shows I was only able to catch one and a bit. Part of the first one as my internet was rubbish and I saw all of the last they were great, very inspirational.
