Ombre Sentiment

Hi there crafters!  Hombre is the shading from light to dark in the same colour hue and it is very pretty and quite popular.  I'll show you how to do this technique with your dies using the colour cloud inks in today's video card.

The finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x 11" in size.  All for now, Sue x

I love all the details on today's card and the ombre is very effective. I hope you are well Sue and thank you for all the inspiration.
Yvonne, really well done on getting the appointments changed. It's so good to hear that being nice works.
Unfortunately I didn't enjoy my roast the other night as I ended up crying in pain. Thank goodness I am much better now.
Huggles Tracy, for your disappointment over the pic line. Fingers crossed for Monday. Your Doctor was lovely to check up on you. Your hubby is lovely too, head scarves will probably be much easier on your head.
Bejay, sorry to hear you are still so poorly. I really hope it disappears very soon.
Laine, I am so happy to hear you had good results, maybe you deserve a treat? Oh dear, I really hope your friendship? with Yvonne does not end that badly! We would all miss you both.
Thanks Maria, yes I am feeling better. I am hoping to go out on my scooter tomorrow and get some more Christmas shopping done. I your fibro gives you a break soon.
June, I am so glad things are not as bad as first thought. I still hope it's sorted very soon.
Sandy, have a great time at Santa's place.
My eldest daughter is coming round for dinner and hopefully staying for a while to have drinks and nibbled. Unfortunately her back is giving her a lot of grief at the moment. I used to suffer like that before it morphed into fibromyalgia so I hope she is not on the same path.
I have got rid of my grey roots this morning so back to the red hair and as it was cut yesterday I feel so much brighter.
Wishing good things to all xxx

Hi Sue,

I love your buckle card and it is a lovely shape to work with. I particularly like the way you've used the squares it's so clever.

Laine you did make me lol with your story about the supervet and the cat, the poor little thing. I can't watch these programmes for the same reason as you, I always end up in floods of tears and really upset. I am also like that when I think of anyone in pain or distress, that's including anyone on this blog, I wish I could wave a magic wand and everyone will be ok and that includes you.

Tracy I feel for you, your such a brave lady and your hubby is such a sweetheart. You get lots of rest and get that line in on Monday I'll wave my imaginary wand at you x
June so glad the news was not as bad as you thought, big hugs.
Best wishes to Melody and Francis too x

Sylvia, what a great victory finishing your treatments. I know first hand what a wonderful feeling that is. Luckily for me, there is a craft store just a minute away from the cancer center I went to so every day after my treatment, I stopped in for a little treasure. A girl has to do what a girl has to do lol.
Tracy, I hope that things go better on Monday. Your husband sounds like a sweetheart.
Bejay, feel better.
Laine, glad you got good results from your tests.
Lorraine F., so glad you're feeling a little better. Nothing like getting your hair done to perk you up.

Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

Don't I just love video days, they're always so informative and I love to watch a master at work. Buckle cards are quirky and interesting, something different from the normal matting and layering you so often see- you always manage to surprise us by thinking out of the box and providing us with fresh new ideas and techniques, it's a pleasure to be part of such a wonderful blog:-)
Well ladies, my prize arrived this morning, it was as beautiful as I could possibly have imagined and has the added bonus of being signed by the great lady herself:-) I'm on cloud nine and I only hope that as many of my blog buddies as possible get to share this feeling by becoming the lucky recipient in the future. I will be taking it to my friend, who is a professional framer, to have it mounted and suitably framed for my craftroom...in the vain hope that my own Cardmaking will be raised to levels beyond my current limitations:-)
Yet more Cardmaking today, I'm speeding along quite nicely now that I'm in a groove- I'm trying to complete a card every spare afternoon and hopefully I will have reached my quota for friends and family soon. My confidence in my abilities had been low this year after having an extended break from crafting due to ill health..a few years all I all...I kept buying in the hope that I would start again but was never quite well enough. That changed a little this year, I've found that if I pace myself I can get results but I had lost my mojo and creativity. That's where Sue became a god send for me, I could practise making copies of her cards by following the videos and instructions at my own pace without any pressure...other than my own perfectionism!...until I felt confident enough to make my own designs again. Slowly I have been adapting those designs and adding my own ideas and I hope that I've been improving a little- I still need the approval of others though with the finished product but my cards are like my babies and I don't want to part with them now, how wrong is that? I think the answer is to get back into scrapbooking again, that way you keep the finished product:-)
June, great news about your test results, let's hope you can get the suitable treatment soon now.
Lorraine F, getting your hair done is a great tonic, especially when it needs dyed- I'm not sure what colour iam anymore, I've been dyeing mine since I was eleven but I dread to think that I have grey hairs, I must at 43 but I'm not prepared to leave it long enough to find out!:-)
Tracy, what a gem of a husband you have, it almost restores my faith in men....but not quite, give me cats any day:-) you deserve to be treated like a queen though after everything you're going through, though it must be tough for him too, I would hate to see a loved one suffer- it's good you've got each other, that will help you on the road to recovery:-)
Love and hugs to all my buddies, Yvonne,Beth, Linda,Maria,Saba, Wheely Bad, Theresa , Rebecca, Jan and anyone else my sleep deprived brain has neglected to mention:-)
Sweet dreamsxxxx

Hi Sue

I do love your buckle cards, it's a technique on my to do list, which is super long! I did love yesterdays card too.

June, I'm so happy that things aren't as bad as feared, hugs x

Tracy, awww, he's a keeper that man of yours. I used to wear scarves when a mohawk with spines wasn't an acceptable appearance or when I felt too rough to gel it up, they felt lovely in the summer. I still rock one from time to time when I haven't had a haircut or a wet one if it's hot (soooooooo nice). I feel for you honey, I only ever lost my hair through choice. Hair or no hair, you're still beautiful I'm sure, sending you hugs and smiles xxxx

My lovely friends, you must excuse me not addressing you all today, I had a very painful neck that triggered a bad migraine yesterday evening and still have the 'hangover' headache so forgive me for this being short and sweet. Sending my thoughts and hugs to Jan in Long Island, Yvonne, Laine, Lorraine F, Rebecca, Lynda, Maria, Melody and Francis, Molly, Theresa W, Marg, Beth, Saba, TxCowgirl... anyone I've forgotten (sorry, my brain is hurting now, nearly sleep time) and sending my hugs and best wishes to every and all of the Wilsonettes, extra hugs to you if you need them. It's lights out time... hoping for some sleep and to get some festive cards done tomorrow :-)

June-awe, great news! It's always encouraging for all of us when someone gets good news for a change.
Tracy-hang in there, have faith this too shall get better, better days ahead we pray.
Wheeley Bad-are you in TX also? Just noticed the Tx at the end of your posts. Folks don't realize just how big TX is, but I'm on the TX/AR border, I think El Paso is half way to California, which is 1800 miles to my daughter's house there.
I hope your migraine is over, my husband gets these so bad, so I sympathize with you.

Thank you all for the prayers and concerns for Greg. People can be so thoughtful, and sometimes this gets overlooked by all the bad in this world. Just wanted to share what a local church, not even one we go to, did for Greg when they heard. They have a ministry of ladies who make quilts for people with cancer. They made and sent him a quilt. A friend of ours asked he be put on the prayer list, and so they also sent a quilt. It was so special, a reminder to him, whenever he uses it, that others care and are praying.
